Congratulations! Your efforts in supporting Commercial Insurance and helping to drive Commercial new business premium have earned you a trip to the 2015 Daytona 500. Beyond witnessing the No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet SS speed around the track you’ll go inside the garage and pits to get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of NASCAR’s most successful organization, Hendrick Motorsports. Kasey Kahne has 17 career Sprint Cup Series wins and is focused on earning his first trip to Victory Lane at the Daytona 500. We are certainly proud of Kasey’s on-track accomplishments and equally so of his off-track contributions. He has been a wonderful Farmers ambassador, supporting Rebuild Joplin, our teacher initiatives and much more. Based on our combined success, we recently announced an extension of our partnership with the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports team through 2017. Farmers will be featured as the primary sponsor in 12 Sprint Cup Races and as an associate-level partner during the other events. We look forward to showcasing our partnership with Kasey and Hendrick Motorsports. At any point, please don’t hesitate to ask any questions or provide feedback on how we can make your day more enjoyable. We thank you for your contribution and congratulate you again on your outstanding achievement!

stretch run • At the beginning of the 2014 season, NASCAR announced a new championship format that puts a greater emphasis on winning races, extends the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup field from 12 to 16 drivers and implements a new round-by-round advancement format for the final ten races • The top 15 drivers with the most wins over the first 26 races will earn a spot in the Chase field – as long as they have finished in the top 30 in points and attempted to qualify for every race. The 16th position goes to the points leader after the 26th race, if he/she does not have a victory • There will be three rounds for advancement before the top four drivers enter the final race at Homestead Miami Speedway in hopes of finishing ahead of the other three competitors, ultimately making the top finisher of that group the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion.

NASCAR 101 GARAGE SET-UP • Garages are set-up each week by the pit crews • The garage order is determined by the current point standings • The garage order changes weekly depending on the race results from the previous weekend. The previous year’s champion is always given the first spot PIT STALLS • Pit stall placement is determined by the qualifying results. The pole winner gets the first selection, the second place starter chooses second and the process continues until all drivers have chosen a stall • Most often the pole winning driver chooses the first spot on pit road. That way the driver is the closest to pit exit, and has a clean exit with no cars in front of him TRANSPORTERS • Two cars are taken to each race in the transporter; one primary and one back-up • Transporters feature storage for spare parts, team lockers and a lounge for meetings RACE TEAM MEMBERS • Most teams have 20 - 30 members working each race • These individuals are typically in two groups: - A Team - mechanically-inclined crew that get the car in race ready condition - B Team - handles the pit stops for race day - Some smaller teams have just one team that covers both the mechanics and the pit duties INTERESTING NASCAR INFORMATION • Oval Office – NASCAR’s version of the principal’s office. If you do something you are not supposed to do, NASCAR often calls you in here. Travels and parks in garage each weekend • Each set of Goodyear tires cost $1,800.00. Teams typically go through 8 - 10 sets a weekend • NASCAR Sprint Cup machines are powered by Sunoco Green E-15. It is a 15 percent ethanol blend fuel made with corn grown in the U.S.
