unravel... autumn programme
Fri 08 & Sat 09
September 2023
A celebration of all things yarn, from knitting and crochet to spinning and weaving.
Friends and yarn lovers! We are excited to host the autumn instalment of unravel here at Farnham Maltings, where we celebrate all things yarn making, from knitting and crochet to spinning and weaving.
In our curated marketplace you will discover an array of independent producers and hand dyed yarns, hailing from across the UK, with leading names from the knitting fraternity and new emerging hand dyers and designers for you to explore.
In the Long Kiln Gallery you can find lots of wonderful work to admire and be sure to make the most of our free talk series featuring inspiring speakers from the yarn and textile community (see details on the next page).
There is also the option to book a last-minute spot on one of our expert-led workshops with a focus on mending and upcycling. Highlights include Rigid Heddle Weaving, Decorating Yarn Bowls, Natural Dyeing, Tunisian Crochet, Brioche, Fair Isle and Introduction to Knitwear Repair.
We are pleased to offer two free participation activities; drop in and learn how to make a sculptural mobile with found natural objects or make like our Nimble Fingers’ ladies and be guided through crocheting a twizzle, we have over 70 of these effective twizzles decorating our foyer!
However you celebrate yarn, we hope you enjoy this autumn’s unravel festival as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together.
Happy stitching!
