What Has Been Happening at DBF? Principal's Message Happy children are effective learners. As we commence a new term and the start of 2015, I have been reflecting upon some of the highlights of last term. I recall how the school days between September 1st and December 18th2014 were packed full of enjoyable and purposeful learning opportunities for all students. Please enjoy browsing through the brief selection of photographs. They are all from last term and are accompanied by short summaries that describe some of the learning opportunities that were explored; for meaningful as well as enjoyable learning is constantly the focus of all that we do at DBF. I believe that it is extremely important for children to be happy at school because happy children are effective learners. Research supports this commonsense truth. Unhappy children clearly struggle to learn because their negative emotional state actually acts as a barrier to learning. With this in mind, I always find it a real joy to view the hundreds of photographs that are displayed on the screen in our foyer, for they clearly illustrate how genuinely happy our students are at DBF.
