Visualization
As a part of a mood/emotion creating assignment, I chose an existing space on my campus, called the old canteen which I drew in dramatic lighting.
I visualized my hostel room and my room mates from my memory, and represented it in an unusual way.
Visualization
“Exact and inexact are two binary opposite words that I was trying to depict through an imaginary space using mirrors.
3D Visualization
Getting acquainted with the 3Ds Max software, I replicated a few objects.
Creating a model of the L.D. museum building, Ahmedabad, using google sketch up.
3D Visualization
I conceptualised a restaurant space, as a part of a visualisation assignment. The space is submerged in a water body. I used 3ds Max to represent my idea.

exteriors
This project was undertaken to bring the old monument at Sarkhej, Ahmedabad to be noticed by the public. There were two teams working on this project, the photography team and the lighting team. I was a member of the lighting team. We tried to depict the different sentiments of the queen who used to use the space as a pavillion, using the concept of Rasas.

autocad
Autocad has been a tool to not only make measured drawings of a space, but also to represent ideas in an accurate manner. I have used the software to measure a studio space within a dome structure. Also, I made technical drawings for a project to explain details.

Typography & colour
For the various design disciplines in N.I.D., I developed a graphic panel system. This was made for a display called the ‘Panorama’, where visitors from outside the institute come to learn about the courses NID can offer.
Projects
ethnography
Hindu community Muslim community “CULTURES, CONCEPTS & CHILDREN is a research based project of the site : Shahpur in Ahmedabad. Shahpur is a riot prone area and the Hindu-Muslim population is divided physically as well. I was curious to know the cause of the physical divide and question the concept of unity in diversity that our country is so proud of. I studied the cultural geography of the place, in order to understand the concept of diversity and if it was measurable.

ethnography
A constant cold war is an after riot effect. Children who are a part of this environment are the most vulnerable to get influenced by the same. Thus my idea was to inspire them in the most innocent way to respect each other & their cultures, as to avoid the hatred in the generations to come.
I wanted to design art and craft workshops for children in a community park within Shahpur. The community Park at Shahpur is marked in the map, along with the various schools in that area, from where the students will be invited.
Workshops can happen in canopies made from sarees in the community park. Kite makers and mural painters from their own community will be taking workshops.
Projects
exhibition inDoors
I researched the architectural element ‘doors’, creating sufficient data to conceptualize a travelling exhibition on the same. I researched the classification of entrances, gateways, doors, their materials, their components, and also what they signify, which is the highlight of my project. The sheer size of a door, to its shape and colour, or its material could be giving a meaning to the space it can lead you into.
Projects
exhibition The Wall
My idea was to communicate the concept of a recessed, flushed and projected entrance by creating a wall as shown in the plan view. There would be projections of various examples of these types of entrances on the recessed, flushed and projected parts of the wall respectively. recessed, flushed & projected entrance

Projects
exhibition The Doors
I wanted people to pass through doors, as your body moves or bends in a certain manner when you enter or exit a space through a door. Not only the door as a visual but also the position one has to achieve to get through it signifies something about the space it is transporting one into. These are the doors I shortlisted and detailed for my exhibition, on the basis of their diversity. An aisle of doors one after the other are placed, so as the visitor can experience the process of passing through these doors. cave opening african dwelling

Along with concept models I also made a scaled down model of the exhibition, as a medium to communicate my idea.
Projects
exhibition Developing models
Making a 3D model to show the movement of visitors, views at eye level, and also as a communication device was necessary.
Structures
Trusses As a part of classroom assignments I, along with two other batchmates explored the strength of trusses, by making a scaled model of a conceptual tree house.
Catenary curve Using the concept of a catenary curve we conceptualised a swing. After figuring the curve with a rope on the actual scale, we had a good experience making a spiral truss for the same.
Production Design
The film “A short story about words was a film by the Film & Video communication students, for which my Exhibition Design batch did the production. I played the role of the google sketch up boy and was a part of the art/set team with another batchmate.
Frames
photography
After being introduced to the camera functions and the techniques, photography has become more addictive than before. As a part of a classroom assignment I made a photo essay on skeletal structures which you can see at http://www.flickr.com/photos/76684843@N08/
Frames
charcoal
I use charcoal and dry pastels to sketch what I see. I find it to be an appropriate medium to represent the work of light in a space.
Frames Ink
Drawing ink is a medium I use to represent abstract thoughts. This was a classroom assignment where I represented my dream of slaughtering a cow as a reaction to my fear of her.

‘Andhayug’ a play in which I played the role of ‘Yuyutsu’, I created this poster expressing Gandhari’s sorrow and her sons’ rage.
Live projects
