What is it that makes us lose ourselves in a movie? Perhaps it’s the desire to get away from our own lives for a moment, and for a short amount of time, live someone else’s life, that could possibly be more intense, interesting and happier?

It’s such an amazing feeling that for a moment, you can live in an exquisite castle, or fit into the role of a superhuman. Movies and cinema help us dream. They help us dream of a more beautiful life that hasn’t got a routine. This life is not predictable. You make your own rules in that life. It’s already organised enough, or the contrary - unbalanced. It seems that it’s what people are missing. They are missing the feeling, that you can relax and stop thinking about the problems in their life. And love, of course, love! Not everyone is destined to experience it.

Not all people, in their lifetime, are able to find their little freaks. Movies allow us to live it, and to naively expect, that something so beautiful, charming and sometimes so painful, will happen in reality. Unfortunately, life tends to be painful. Sometimes so painful, that you want to gouge your heart out, just so you don’t have to suffer in pain. But maybe, it’s easier to cave in into the magical world of cinema... The theme of the edition is ‘Movies’ this time. And that’s exactly why we offer you to look into our vision of the film world. Let the reading be full of enjoyment.

he French Touch, Charmel professional makeup relooking studio and fashion world stylist Raja collaborate on the latest styles straight off the cat walk, to bring you French elegance and glamour, a total look, with amazing new hair techniques makeup and of course personality. Each issue of Fashion World will re-look a renowned personality. For the 1st edition we have chosen the French actress Alix Lucrece Berenice Benezech . This natural baby faced actress is transformed right before our eyes into a glamorous modern day version of Marilyn Monroe. Acting is one of the most highly esteemed professions, but it’s also one of the most difficult to pursue. She is cute, gorgeous and mesmerizes everyone with her grace and charm, yet she is very humble and down to earth. A tête-à-tête with this wonderful young lady during her re looking photo shoot to discuss her views about life and its unexpected twists and turns.

What does your average day entail? It depends, that’s why I like to be an actress, as every day is totally different. The days, I’m on a shoot I wake up very early in the morning, It usually goes on till the end of the day, then I go back home to rest or I go to an event or a screening. When I’m not at a shoot, I have appointments and castings. I also like to write, to learn many different things like new acting techniques or many things that have no links to my job. I’m very curious, so I can stay hours on the Internet or by reading books to find an answer about my existentialism questions. Sometimes I find the answer, sometimes not, but being curious is very enriching for my wild mind.

How did you become an actress? Tell us how it all began. I’m very provincial i come from a simple family, simple means that my parents are very down to earth. For me, being an actress was not so much a dream but science fiction. When I was 7, I saw a theatre play on TV and totally fell in love with this new world. I really wanted to play like the people I saw. I asked my father who was a Classical Literature teacher to give me the book of Le Malade Imaginaire from Molière and i decided to do a play with my schoolmates. The result was a terrible improvisation but by then i was completely hooked on Theatre. I went to Theatre class and did Modern Literature too because my parents were uncertain about my future. In Khâgnes (its a specific class very difficult in France), a teacher said to me that my place was not there but on a stage. So heart in my hand I went off to Paris; where I had my first casting for a web series, and I was fortunate to get the part. I meet many interesting people on the set, and as luck would have it I got parts in short and feature films. Then I found myself an good agent.

Which has been your favourite character that you have performed? It was Sarah in La Vie Nous Appartient (Maybe Tomorrow) directed by Alex Lee. http://lavienousappartient.com/

Tell us something about your character in the film? She’s a teenager who wants to commit suicide. She’s really deep, full of anger and lacks confidence. It was really hard to feel, act like Sarah because she’s really close to how I was as a teenager. I had mixed emotions playing this role, It was both terrifying and exciting at the same time, as old memories came flooding back.

If you could have any part from any movie/TV series, who would you want to be? I want to be Albertine in “la Recherche du Temps Perdu” from Marcel Proust. I want to play a feminine Hamlet. Marilyn Monroe when she was very young, in her first acting years, when she was not the myth the young Norma Jeane. I want to play in a series about the Versailles Court. Why did you get into charity work? It was obvious, I like helping people and try to do my best to make people happy. I’m really sure that happiness and joy are the most important things in life. Even if there are problems, even if everything is bad, I try to feel happy, I try to find joy in little moments and things. I’m young but i have already experienced difficult times, like losing close relatives and friends. What makes you laugh? Many things, I laugh all the time! It’s often about little things in the subway, the street, there is a lot of cute and funny moments in life. I like comedy with Louis de Funès, Pierre Richard, I adore Saturday Night Live and Woody Allen comedy. 35

Can you tell us about one of the happiest moments in your life? I was on the set of Le Quepa sur La Vilni directed by Yann Le Quellec, which I shot with the famous French singer Christophe he performed a concert for us on the little village square, it was poetic, magic and moving. Even the donkey of the movie was touched.

What are your beauty secrets? Delight and lots of green tea. I’m also totally addicted to organic products like KOS, Couleur Caramel, Phyts, aesop, Weleda, Dr Hauchka etc

What daily ritual that you perform makes you feel the safest, and why? I sprinkle Eau de Beauté from Caudalie on my face and wearing minerals How would you describe your style? Feminin, Girly, Retro like a pin up I like dresses, close fitting to the body, coloured or light ones

Do you go to fashion shows? Yes i love fashion, and I adore fashion shows because it’s like a little play with no words, I like clothes that tell a story.

How do you feel about today’s photo shoot with Fashion world? It is fantastic, I feel happy and beautiful in the amazing dresses, I like the very good energy of the team! I love the stunning different looks created by the make up and hair stylists.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? My feet, classical dance and high heels are not the best thing for my poor little feet!

What keeps you so grounded? My education I think and maybe because I come from Alsace, people are really linked to the earth. But I also have “la tête dans les étoiles”!

What are your forthcoming releases? We’ve seen her grow from the tiny 10-year-old Hermione on the big screen to a genuine fashion icon in real life. For years, Emma Watson has been wowing us with her edgy, but always classy, starlet style. Favoring short dresses, solid colors and bold accessories, she constantly steals the paparazzi’s attention -- and our hearts. Although Watson can usually be spotted wearing the high-end brands only celebrities can afford, we’ve found less expensive substitutes for some of our favorite fashion moments.

Audrey Hepburn’s timeless chic continues to intrigue and inspire us writes Georgina Heffernan. No one has captured the hearts of the fashion industry more than Audrey Hepburn. Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively has had her fair share of fashion crimes, but even her worst looks are better than most of the clothes in our closet. Girlfriend is a walking fashionista, and each of her daring outfits is more iconic than the next! And speaking of icons, Blake is finally dishing on the fashion divas in the industry who have influenced her. “I always look to women of times past for iconic style because they’re not wearing what’s trendy now,” she tells Refinery29. “You look at Katharine Hepburn and her pants suits, you look at Grace Kelly and her incredibly feminine gowns that look like a princess, very fittingly. I look to women like that because I always look for style and not trends. They are two very different things.”

Have you ever watched a movie and wanted to own something a character is wearing? Has a character’s style ever influenced your clothing choices? Have you ever tried to emulate a character through fashion?” —

Film and fashion are greatly ingrained in our minds that our celebrity-driven culture makes use of film stars to act as conduits where customized fashion can be spread to a wider audience. This is a necessary fact accepted long ago by custom tailors and designers, most of whom have used films to flaunt their customized fashions, like Giorgio Armaniâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s design collection in the film American Gigolo, worn by actor Richard Gere. Today, even a movie starâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s red carpet appearance at press conferences and movie awards are just as important as runway fashions. Movie stars are front and center at fashion shows and have become cover photos of major fashion magazines and marketing campaigns all over the world.

Designers took inspiration from movies to and making fashion icons of several movie legends, such as James Dean’s renowned coolness in T-shirt and jeans, as well as Marlon Brando’s perfect tailor made suits. The influence of fashion on films sprouted a host of film buffs to imitate the look of their screen idols. Their penchant for tailored suits on or off the screen show good taste and passion for fashion, without the need for stylists. Films are good avenues to take notes on classics and trends in fashion. Custom made suits and other wardrobes worn by Sean Connery featured in the James Bond series clearly embodied sartorial elegance. Michael Caine’s custom made suits in his films showed variety and fashion eloquence. Recreating history through film is every custom tailor or fashion designer’s dream. They not only have the opportunity to showcase their designs, but they also get to work with A-list artists on set and on exotic locations. The media’s power to sell fashion today has gone full-scale with the advent of the digital revolution, opening the doors to everyone and enabling the film’s fashion influence to expand worldwide.

Edith Head The doyenne of Hollywood costume designers

That Head was enduring is undeniable. In her six decades as a designer, she worked on over 1,000 films, received 35 Academy Award nominations and won an unprecedented eight Oscars. In Claassen’s one-woman show, Head is also pretty endearing. Head was born in San Bernardino, Calif., and raised in the mining town of Searchlight, Nev. She attended the University of California, Berkeley and earned a master’s degree in French from Stanford University. After completing her education, Head taught school until 1923. In 1924, she began her career as a costume sketch artist for Paramount Pictures.

She started as a sketch artist, Head worked her way up and quickly became known as one of Hollywood’s top costume designers. During her career, Head designed costumes for black and white films, color films and television. She designed for the top stars at Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios, where she constructed many iconic dresses that are still replicated today. Head was known for her outgoing personality and willingness to work with stars to create the perfect wardrobe. To honor her contributions to costume design, Head was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In 1960, Head was selected by Delta Zeta as an honorary convention initiate. She was initiated as an alumna member into Mu Chapter at the University of California, Berkeley. After her initiation, Head continued to be involved with Delta Zeta. She lent her talents to the Southern California Council of Delta Zeta for its Lamplighters’ Flame Fantasy fashion show several times during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1968, Head was named Delta Zeta Woman of the Year. The Delta Zeta Foundation awards a scholarship in her name for members studying fashion design. Head died Oct. 24, 1981. In 2013, Google commemorated Head’s accomplishments and what would have been her 116th birthday with a Google Doodle. Head’s career as a costume designer spanned over 50 years and included 35 academy-award nominations and eight Oscars. She holds the record for most academy-award nominations and the most Oscars for a female.

Edith Head will be forever remembered as a Panhellenic sister who opened doors for women in the male-dominated field of costume design.
