Barclays Cycle Hire the chicest way to get around London
You pay for the right to hire a cycle (access fee) and for the amount of time you've got it (usage charge).
Nothing says ‘zero emissions’ like a bike! Adopting Paris’s citywide velo rental service, London followed suit and offers cycles for hire across the city. How does it work? Simple. Take a cycle, ride it where you like, then return it, ready for the next person. Available 24 hours a day, all year round. It's self-service and there's no booking. Just turn up and go. There are currently about 6000 cycles for hire across London and the casual use option, for nonmembers, is on its way.
