THE DREAM CHASER

Shaun Pelayo Lancaster, age 25 Birmingham based freelance model with just 11 months experience of TV shows, music videos and extra work in big movies. Shaun explains how he manages his new experience as a model and influencer to his 18k Instagram followers.

You an't let anyone hold you a k, your only young once! even if you don't make it... as long as when it’s all said and done you can at least look back and know you tried your hardest! It’s better than just settling for a job you don't enjoy for the rest of your life.

What’s i porta t a out fashio to e is being able to wear the same outfit as someone else and making it look completely different and owning your own look. Although I am still new to the industry, I learnt all the standard catalogue poses in the first few months through studio shoots and learning from more experienced models. Then, through working with different photographers, I learnt that I didn't have to do the same poses in the same settings as everybody else. Don't get me wrong, I still do the catalogue poses if a brand requires those shots for websites etc. However, recently brands want me to use my own style when posing in their clothing which is what I love to do. I think the only reason I have grown my profile so quickly is through pure work ethic. No matter how tired you are, no matter how far you got to travel to get to a shoot, no matter how un o forta le you are, it’s i porta t to always do it! Otherwise, what separates you from the rest? everyone else in that position would use that as an excuse and not go. If you make that effort and go, you never know what opportunity you will get from it. Another thing is obsession and being selfish. When you first start out, if you’re goi g dow the sa e path as me and want to grow your social media, a lot of people will take the piss and make jokes because they don't share the vision. But as soon as you start popping and become higher demand, they all will start changing their tone and being supportive.

The final thing I would say is visualisation. You need to have such a clear vision of the exact place you want to be and not let anything, or anyone stop you from getting there! I know I'm not going to stop until I am where I want to be! I am appreciative of everyone that I worked/work with, I am grateful for this feature on here! Everyone follow my journey on my Insta and keep watching the come up!!!!

I’m Sophie Newton and I am 25 years old. I have always had a passion for all things creative- media, fashion, art etc. I am a selfconfessed drama queen who wears her heart on her sleeve, loves animals and helping charities close to my heart. I love fashion as it’s a way of expressing yourself and it’s an art form. It can be so liberating and as I’ve got older I’ve got more expressive in my style and I enjoy styling pieces. I live for bargains and regularly peruse charity shops and online auctions for fashion steals! I enjoy uploading photos to my 16k followers on Instagram, and I would say I am a little bit of an influencer - something I want to expand. I really want to work with more brands and upload content people want to see, to Instagram. I have modelled and enjoy modelling especially when the shoot is very elaborate. I have done reality TV and starred as a rep in Ibiza Weekender. I’ve done other tv shows and my aspiration is to become a television presenter focusing on animals and the environment. Think Chris Packham or David Attenborough! Sophie’s message to the contestants “I’m looking forward to seeing personality and flare. Tammy Rose Bringloe: Special Guest Judge

Hello!

I am Tammy Rose Bringloe, aged 29, founder of clothing brand ‘Stand Out with Me’. I am based in North Yorkshire but spend a lot of time in Birmingham. I have gained a great deal of experience in the fashion/modelling industry through various photo shoots, fashion shows, competitions, music videos, making great contacts leading to magazine and radio features, and many people wanting to work with me as a model and a brand. My brand started this year and has already built up a highly reputable prominence. Many people follow fashion but not always for the right reasons and sometimes leading to negative outcomes. The purpose of my brand is to focus on the positive aspects of the fashion world, body confidence, expressing yourself and most importantly being yourself and comfortable with it. What is fashion? What is beauty? What makes a model? We need to rethink our answers. I'd like to thank literally every person who has given me a chance or recommended me. I can't possibly name them all but thank you so much xx

Tammy’s message to the contestants “I used to think about what poses to do on the catwalk but once on there after concentrating on not falling over and looking at the photographer and worrying about the audience I never ended up doing them! So yes, it is important to practice poses as different things suit different shapes and sizes, but also remember to do what comes naturally as it'll show otherwise. The catwalk goes fast so you don't want to be kicking yourself for not doing what you had planned, so try not to over think beforehand! Remember you want to stand out so don't even bother copying poses unless you'd naturally do it. I am here for advice on how to pose whether you're a plus size model or petite so get in touch! Advice to all.... remember what someone hates someone may love xx.”

Eve if you’re having a bad day, putting on a bright lipstick will give you the biggest confidence and make you feel like you can conquer the world! The main thing I would like to take away from this event is confidence. We knock ourselves so much and compare ourselves to others and it does nothing for your confidence and selfesteem! I have knowledge of different kinds of hairstyles such as classic, glamorous, natural or romantic style. I have taken hair artistry courses in Amsterdam that made me even more confident to create hairstyles for catwalks, events, modelling and bridal. At the moment I am renting a chair in a salon in the North West area of London. I think in the hair, fashion or beauty industry the most important is the Team Work as we all need to contribute with creative touches to deliver inspiring looks and a beautiful picture. We might all have a different vision in this industry but in the end, we create ART I am grateful for the opportunity given to be here and come out of my shell. For me this will be the first time taking part for a live competition, this experience will motivate me to uplift myself and start a new journey. I hope to bring the spring through my work! :) Big Thank You Fashion Project LIVE team for the great opportunity.

@ Allure__hair: Hair by Ev Ewelina Dubij, 23, Wolverhampton. With 5 ears’ e perie ce as a qualified hairdresser, I thoroughly enjoy being creative; by having a unique approach to styling. Through hairdressing, I find happiness in knowing I can brighten so eo e’s da , reinvent their look, or simply, create a good-hair-day for a special occasion. My passion in hairdressing stems from my desire to build my portfolio, and one day take part in exclusive fashion shows - as a hair stylist; where I can showcase my innovative ideas. Thank you to the Fashion Project for allowing this opportunity for many talents to be showcased. And for my family and friends, I am grateful for the support; I hope the event is a great experience. I am delighted to be a part of this experience.

Taking part in this event will prove a great confidence booster, and will be excellent for backstage experience. I hope the event is insightful and entertaining to both the spectators and contributors.

I have always been passionate about creative expression and this is what drove me to achieve a Bachelor of Arts degree in design. The journey from a blank canvas, to a work of art, or a sheet of metal, to a threedimensional sculpture, has always fascinated me and I wanted a career that enabled me to do that. Inspired by a passion for style and glamour, I started experimenting with different hairstyles on myself looking at fashion magazines, catwalk shows, television and film for inspiration.

@mdghairandbeauty What I love about hair and makeup is the transformation that can be created, the confidence it can give and how creative you can be with it. It would be an amazing experience and inspiring to see other people’s creations. It is an opportunity to challenge yourself and be the best you can be.

After getting positive feedback on my own styles, I was asked to do other people's hair. Being self-taught, people were impressed with the unique, statement styles that I could create. This encouraged me to seek a professional qualification in both hairstyling and makeup.

@Tusablue3720 My name is Tusa-Blue Si pso , I’ 36 a d from Birmingham. I am a qualified hairdresser and wig maker. I have participated in a hair competition and came third. I style odel’s hair for fashio shows and photoshoots. Hair is every wo a ’s crow a d reflectio of their identity. I love to transform women and make them feel brand new. Your hair can boost your whole self-esteem and confidence. Hair is very fashionable and will never go out of style. There are so many new and existing trends that will make hair stand out and look extravagant. Fashion is a constant presence of a perso ’s life thus not about getting dressed every day, but fashion is also used for self-expression. Hair and fashion combined is awesome. I would love the chance to gain even more experience and exposure by creating an extravagant hairdo that brings out the outfit. I would also like to meet other creative hairstylists and share tips and advice. I wish everyone else on the day who is participating the best of luck and for all that attend, I hope they enjoy the day/show. I ca ’t wait.

Fashion, make-up, beauty, it's all subjective and the bigger the range of diversity we see the more we will feel comfortable in ourselves. I hope to be able to collaborate with other creative women who are passionate about developing a positive body image to other women and girls. I am really looking forward to meeting new people and working together to create some amazing looks for the catwalk. This event is sure to bring creatives together from all areas of the fashion industry and give them great exposure, not only to new talent but to new opportunities too. Thank you to everyone for making this event. I'm sure it will be an incredible experience.

@missbethamelia Beth-Amelia, 19, Essex, social media influencer, model and part time stylist/ fashion designer. I believe fashion represents you as a character, I mean, I have an outfit for each mood, each occasion! I even style my hair to go exactly with my outfit. I like to be unique and switch things up, for example I will buy a nice top and then I will add things/ remove things to it. Or I will rip skinny jeans to make them more edgy. I would describe my fashion taste as unique & gla orous, if I honest I enjoy turning heads and being asked where my top is from haha. I switch my style up regularly, some days elegant glam for example (A dressy blazer with skinny jeans, stiletto heels and a clutch bag with some fancy jewellery to top it off) to other days a it ore edgy gla ( la k leather jacket, white strapless bandeau top, high waisted tight fitted red camo joggers, with some YSL a kle oots, oh a d e a t forget the Chanel sunglasses) Being so into fashion is so great for me, as its lead me to be my own stylist when it comes to professional photo shoots during my modelling the compliments I get on my unique style have even inspired me to create my own clothing line! I love playing around with outfits, and god forbid can I just walk into a shop and buy o e thi g

I would love to network with other designers and models. I would like to maybe be inspired by other outfits! I would also hope to inspire some other people as well with my style! I used to get laughed at with my fashion sense, you know I was always that confident blonde girl... I mean I would turn up to college in knee high heels. But I always kept it real, i was comfy, I was happy, and I was just doing me not hurting anybody- in fact I was a bit of a loner at ollege haha! But I thi k that s ery important, never let anyone have the power to throw you off from who you really are, and hat s fu y a out this story is now 3/4 years later those girls who laughed, ask me where they can buy the things I wear.

@Carmsx Hi my name is Carmel I go by carms, I'm 26 years old and I'm from Nottingham. I've stopped dreaming and wishing and started doing. This is just the beginning for me and I'm excited for the journey. I love fashion because it's a way to express how you're feeling and who you are. You can express yourself through hairstyles make up or clothes. It is important to have a diverse standard of models as beauty comes in different shape, size, height etc I would like to gain more confidence in putting myself in front of an audience, meet new people and learn from other models and talented individuals who are more experienced about how to better myself in this industry.

@ Alexis Meshida

My Alexis Meshida, I am a 23 years old model from Ireland who is just starting out in the industry. I believe hair and beauty is important because it brings confidence to women all over the world and helps women to pull through in difficult times. I hope to meet new people and gain inspiration from others at Fashion Project live. I also hope that others attendees can take away useful ideas from this event and make new connections whilst at the same time gaining more confidence. I will like to thank Michealla M for giving me the fantastic opportunity of participating in today's event and also those who have come to support me. I am so grateful. Thank you
