Fashion for 2011: What’s Cool in Fashion? Check it out fashionistas! Fest your eyes on the future of fashion couture design. Amy Winter has come up with a new concept of garment construction that entails interactive sound responsive clothing that lights up when introduced to sound waves. For her Autumn/Winter 2011 collection she demonstrates this unique fusion of technology. Winters is making her mark in the high end fashion scene with resultant creations that grab your attention immediately. Some are even saying that her designs walk a fine line of fashion and art. The fashion community has not really been introduced to such extraordinary fashion concepts, since the late and great Alexander McQueen’s techno robot spray painting on a models white dress as she strutted down the runway. We don’t think anyone is going to top his epic stunt, but Amy Winters is making a noteworthy effort that if she keeps up will rank her designs amongst the fashion greats that ever took on the runway. The star of her recent collection that we mentioned is a dress which is called Picasso Explosion and it emits light as a reaction to sound. The designer doesn’t think that these are experimental clothes or gimmicks. She describes her clothes as a touch sense sound multisensory experience. And we absolutely appreciate her futuristic approach to creating head turning designs. As you can see pictured below this garment comes alive with geometric shapes and colors.
Some designers use treads to weave their ways into fashion history, and Winters has taken her craft to a whole new level with her use of technology. We don’t believe that her genius has been repeated by any other artist today and if you see them following in Amy’s footsteps soon that we really know that she’s hit the nail on the head or at least has the attention of her fashion peers. We know she has ours for sure. Let us know what you think about Amy Winter’s futuristic fashion sense. Would you wear this type of clothing anywhere or do you believe that it only works for the runway? Would you buy designs by Amy Winter?
