Femme Fashionista Wrap Up (Part 1) Hey Fashionistas! This was a huge weekend for music fashionistas hitting the red carpet at the VMA’s aka the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. And these ladies did not disappoint for one second. From the elegant to outrageous these ladies brought us some great looks to admire. There was big news to be revealed and statements to be made apparently, and the VMA’s was just the platform that these ladies chose to be seen and heard as our top celebrity fashionistas. So check out the top standouts of the night. There was so much, we’re breaking this on up into two parts .
Beyonce in Lanvin Fall 2011 First up, congratulations are in order as Beyonce and Jay-Z announced that they’re finally having a baby. Now on to the fashion — Mrs. Z wore a lush red gown from the House of Lanvin. Her floor length Grecian goddess inspired gown was designed by Alber Elbaz. Beyonce looked radiant in the elegant caftan style frock that covered everything with the exception of one shoulder. Accessories included oversized statement earrings, matching bracelet and an innocent side swept ponytail. Applause!
Kelly Rowland in Falguni & Shane Peacock Fall 2011 Next we spotted Beyonce’s BFF Kelly Rowland wearing a Falguni & Shane Peacock (from India) with black and gold feathers, not to mention a dangerous plunging neckline. No nip slips to speak of from Kelly at the VMA’s (we appreciate that). Kelly has always had a banging body and her dress choice showed off her curves nicely. Rowland took a risk with this new designer dress. We first saw them show their line at Fashion Week in Los Angeles and now they have a show in London amongst the other big fashion lines. Their designs have attracted celebrity fashionistas such as Katy Perry, Fergie and Nicki Minaj, to name a few. Smiley Face!
Katy Perry in Atelier Versace Leave it to Katy Perry to literally get all dolled up. Looking like a 1950’s pin-up with pink hair and gorgeous makeup. Katy is wearing a fully handmade sequined mini Atelier Versace dress. This may look like one of her elaborate costumes, but this pricey little number costs around $40,000 plus (not that she actually bought it). Perry loves her dress beaded, short and revealing. But let’s face it, she looks so cute in her outfit, which is an interpretation of the ASIANA look, complete with a Japanese-style umbrella and cherry blossom flowers in her hair. Arigato! So there you have it fashionistas. The fashion on the red carpet at the VMA’s was off the hook. Did you tune in? What was your favorite VMA moment? Who do you think was best dressed? Keep it locked for Part 2 of our Femme Fashionista Wrap Up.
