Gypsy 05 Fashion Runway Show for Spring/Summer 2012 and Party
Last night we were lucky enough to attend the Gypsy 05 Spring/Summer 2012 Fashion Show held at the historic Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. The evening opened with a red carpet and outdoor cocktail party that was eclectic as it was packed with celebrities, designers and the media. From different cocktails stations to jewelry designer display, there was a little something for everyone. Moving inside for the show, the space was massive and definitely made a statement about the importance of the show we were about to see. The theme for the show was "Ancient & Modern Elements Unite" and that was certainly portrayed from the staging to the pieces themselves. The looks were inspired by the mystery and intrigue of the Native American culture with the goal of awakening the senses and channeling the inner spirits of everyone in the audience. The design-duo Dotan and Osi Shoham definitely achieved this, as guests were enraptured from the opening mystical dance number through the entire show, as the music and almost 3-D like background images that made for a perfect atmosphere for the beautiful collection. The Gypsy 05 collection paid homage to the elements through the vibrant earthtoned palette mixed with fiery prints. Luxe fabrics, lace insets and asymmetrical hemlines added a whimsical elegance, while fringe accents, belted detailing and paisley patterns offer something new for this already wildly successful women's collection. The men's looks were equally as relaxed, modern and functional, drawing influence from the environment's organic components. The men's pieces ranged from basic tees and tanks to plush pullovers and cargo sweats. The evening wrapped up with a VIP party featuring the music of Jeremy Piven's band, Bad Decisions.
