Paris Fashion Week: Valentino SS 2012 Runway Review Valentino dresses were a favorite of ours to see during Paris fashion week. Known for their feminine fashion designs and rooted in old Hollywood fashion history, Valentino is one of those lines that is a favorite for every season. Valentino’s collections are always a source of elegant fabrics and flowing lines, the coming SS 2012 is classic Valentino style.
Valentino SS 2012: This innocent gown is floor length, long sleeve and sheer in selected areas. The body of the dress including the whimsical billowy sleeves is embroidered with black floral print and the tiny looped belt accent adds a fine elegant touch to this piece. These are all light floral and spring-like features.
Valentino SS 2012: Check out the sheer black chiffon body with white floral print cascading around the length of the strapless spring gown. One can slightly make out the silhouette of the models body underneath the dress.
Valentino SS 2012: This is a more youthful gown for the spring collection. We especially like the layers of embroidered trims and hemlines of this white mini dress. The sheer and flirty neckline is also a nice touch.
Valentino SS 2012: This sleeveless gown has a pure cut to it. The full neck halter cut neckline creates a cleaner look. This is very different from the rest of the lace and chiffon gowns we saw on the runway in the SS 2012 collection.
Valentino SS 2012: A showstopper was this floor length halter dress with a cut out designed dress layered over a cream chiffon slip. The side pockets of the dress give it an attractive functional appeal.
Valentino SS 2012: Next is this baby blue straplessflowing babydoll dress with floral print. We can definitely see fashionistas everywhere wearing this one during the spring.
Valentino SS 2012: This is an interesting two piece short set. The top is sheer with lace covering the models private places (very risky). The shorts are all lace and cut extra high on the leg.
Valentino SS 2012: One of the standout gowns was this scarlet red elegant ballroom style dress. The top of the gown is layered lace flowing down into a full flowing bottom with horizontal lines. The shiny red skinny braided belt is a nice finishing touch.
