Bonford India : 5 Ways To Know You’re Wearing Cheap Shoes

Shoes are as important to men as diamonds are to women. If you’re a guy and reading this i want you to have a look at your most expensive pair of shoes. I’m sure you must be proud of your great investment. But look closely, does something seems off about your shoes? No? Not even a little bit? Well, I’m here to remove the blindfold off your eyes and once you go through the whole blog you’ll surely start to realise your formal shoes aren’t as perfect as they seem to be. ds 2019 will take place on January 6, at the Beverly Hilton situated in Beverly Hills, California.

Cemented shoes

Sole is without question, the most important part of the shoe. Look at your shoe soles, are they cemented or stitched? Confused? Shoes predominantly have two kinds of stitching : Blake or Goodyear. While Blake is interior stitching and not easily visible, Goodyear usually means double stitching either by hand or by a machine and is easily visible. You need to make sure if the kind of stitching is not mentioned in the shoe description, it is possible the soles are pasted on with some sort of shoe adhesive.

Rubber Soles

It’s not just the stitch, look at your shoes’ sole, is it made of leather or is rubberized? Brands often use rubber for soles because they make the shoe comfortable and is cheaper than leather. Rubber soles albeit very comfortable, are not durable at all and to top it, they look really cheap. Real top grain leather after frequent wear softens, becomes more comfortable and lasts double the duration of rubber soles.

Genuine Leather

You buy expensive shoes because it gives you exclusivity but is the the quality even worth it? Are you really buying original leather? Is the leather in your shoes genuine or top grain? Don’t know the difference? Genuine actually means the leftover part of leather, the one that nobody wants. They combine those leftovers and call it genuine leather. While buying shoes it’s always best to ask if the leather is top grain or full grain, shoes with these tags, unmistakably are one of the best quality leathers money can buy.

Absent cork filling

Think of the time when you were really comfortable in your dress shoes. Cheap shoes will give your intense heel pain at the end of every day. If you’ve experienced that, then definitely you’ve made a wrong purchase. Expensive, good quality shoes provide extended comfort because of a thick cork footbed. A dense cork footbed is added to the middle sole to provide comfort while walking. Some cobblers don’t add enough cork to the middle sole, hence compromising on ease and comfort of the shoe.

Cheap Laces

If your laces are worn out within a couple months of wear then you probably got the short end of the deal. Discoloration is a mark of laces dyed with cheap color. Another mark of low quality laces are fibres coming out of your lace or its aglet. Instead of buying new laces invest in good quality top grain leather shoes. Where just like the leather, the laces are made from good quality fibre.
