Join us December 1st and 2nd at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium, MD, for the East Coast Indoor National Car and Bike Show benefitting the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign. Last year this event raised more than $20,000 for Toys for Tots. How awesome is that? Come out and bring the family - this is a very family-friendly event. For more event information, visit www.EastCoastIndoorNats.com.

It’s FALL Already! Jeez… Where did spring and summer go? If you are still looking for more saddle time before winter, check out our Events Calendar both in print and online at www. flbdelmarva.com courtesy of CycleFish.com.

Next stop is the Progressive International Motorcycle Show (“IMS”) in Washington, DC, January 4th thru 6th, 2013. This is a great way to kick off the new year! You can find more information about the Washington, DC show at www.motorcycleshows.com.

Delmarva Bike Week® - what can I say? The DBW committee put together another successful event for the 12th year in a row. You guys Rock, we can’t wait until next year’s event. Party Block – all I can say is “WOW!” The crowds, the music, the drinks, the great staff, bikes on display and no shortage of beautiful ladies. This was a first-year venue for FLBD. Five bars, 4 separate clubs all under one roof. If you crave live music, you move to the back area where you’ll find the stage and dance floor. Is dance music more your style? Party Block has a DJ and second dance floor to accommodate you just down the hall and past the Bomb Bar. Want to sit and chat, they’ve got you covered. Special thanks to Party Block for their “no cover before 10 p.m.” policy during bike week. This was the only venue in Delmarva where you could see Great Train Robbery and Rebelicious for free during Delmarva Bike Week® and we all know bikers like FREE! The Hot Cougar Contest on Friday night was off the hook and the Leather and Lace Ball on Saturday night was jamming with ladies wearing their most “tastefully tawdry” attire. What can we say about the Hot Kiss Contest other than thank goodness nothing made it to YouTube!

February 8th thru 10th, 2013 it’s back to the Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium, MD, for the Timonium Motorcycle Show. For more information and money-saving admissions coupon, visit www.cycleshow.net. There you have it! Come out and say hello, hang out and as always, have some fun with the diverse cast of characters that make up the Fast Lane Biker® Delmarva family. Check our web site at www.flbdelmarva.com often to get updates on shows and other interesting information. If you have an event you want to advertise, contact us at sales@flbdelmarva.com. Don’t forget, we offer special advertising rates and marketing support to charity events. Also, business owners should contact us regarding holiday specials and ideas to enhance your holiday customer base. Until next time, keep the shiny side up and the rubber on the road!

SENIOR MOMENTS Name: ‘Wrench’ (Yes, just Wrench) Age: 63 Location: Lewes, DE

A parade was scheduled on that day and Wrench, heading through town, was directed by local police to park on the road so the parade could pass. Wrench parked as directed, turned off his engine, and rolled down his windows to listen to the bands as the parade passed. That’s when he thought his pickup truck exploded. His head was snapped back and the next memory of that day is CPR and strangers hovering, trying to talk to him. His neck was broken in three places and his spinal cord was damaged as a result of broken bone shrapnel.

“It’s better to burn out than to fade away” are the Def Leppard lyrics and Wrench is certain he relates to those words more than the average person. He’s also certain that Def Leppard’s drummer, Rick Allen, who lost his arm in a crash but continues drumming, can relate to Wrench more than the average person.

Wrench spent his life turning wrenches to make a living and to make things go faster. The last 24 years of What Wrench calls “the end of his 1st life” that day wasn’t his working career were spent building and maintain- an explosion. A 17-year-old girl, busy looking for a snack ing aerial phone trucks and any special equipment the in a bucket of fried chicken, had crashed into him. His truck flew in the air as her car phone company utilized. He became disappeared under it up to the known to the new hires in the shop rear axle. His rear bumper as “Ol’wrench” but now he’s simply broke her windshield out. Airknown as Wrench. bags deployed and saved her and her passenger from getWrench’s life is so full of improbabiliting hurt. That date is tattooed ties that his closest friends call him on Wrench’s back, part of the ‘Humpty Dumpty.” In fact, he has wall, as the day he died. the fabled character, and the infamous wall, tattooed on his back. But Wrench’s “wall” is a tribute or reminder of the many triumphs and hardships endured in his life that he, thankfully, survived. The fact that Wrench managed to live a full, good life is testament to the human spirit and the importance of support from family and friends.

Wrench had raced hill climbs, the dirt circle track at Dorsey Raceway, and participated in drag races for years and survived his one minor spill. He also raced go carts as a preteen and, at times, thought he had been severely hurt. But nothing he experienced in the past could prepare him for the aftermath of October 20th. He resorted to pain pills, therapy and drank beer like crazy to make it through each day. Conventional therapy emphasized his limitations and Wrench found it to be very discouraging. He couldn’t write but therapists continued to put pencils in his hand and expected him to do what he knew he couldn’t. Eventually, tired of trying, Wrench gave up, retired and moved to Lewes, DE where he planned to reside until death took him. He didn’t expect to last very long. He had no balance, he couldn’t walk, the use of his hands was limited and he hurt all the time.

Wrench has only one lung. He has had many different cancers cut out many times. He was born with badly deformed legs and he still walks “awkward.” He’s had hundreds of stitches and broken almost every bone in his body - mostly from sports. One cancer surgery (behind his right eye) left him unable to keep his eyelid open and required additional plastic surgery to correct it. Past plastic surgery was needed to correct his lower lip, torn off when a race horse he was boarding kicked him in the face. Nothing, however, none of these injuries, could prepare him for what happened on October 28, 2000.

Then came another date tattooed on Wrench’s back, December 22, 2004 – his new birthday. That’s the day Wrench decided to give up on dying and began living again.

friends, Lil, is not afraid at all and rides with Wrench whenever she has the opportunity. Lil thinks Wrench rides great. Fortunately, Lil and her husband and Pork and Wrench have been good friends for a long time so it all works out.

“Pork” is Wrench’s wife and, according to Wrench, she’s a genius. Pork observed Wrench during therapy sessions and noted how frustrated he became when he tried to perform tasks using his hands. One day, Pork announced that she found something she wanted her husband to buy and build for her - a basket-case Iron Head Sportster. Wrench always laughed at guys with Sportsters, telling them to keep watering them until they grew up to be a real motorcycle. He had every tool a man could possibly own sitting in the garage and so he thought, “What the heck.” He met the guy, agreed on a price and the pieces for his new project were delivered the next day. Pork was dead on. Tools fit Wrench’s hands better than anything he had tried so far. The bike was a mess. It took him the entire winter to make most of the parts he needed (none of the required parts for what he had in his head were carried by a Harley dealer). He finished the bike and christened it with the nickname his mother gave him when he was a child - Half-Fast (but they all knew what it really meant!).

Fast forward: Wrench has now sold five Harleys after performing electrical, brake, clutch, motor repairs, etc. He makes only a few dollars but it offers lots of therapy. He has two rare bikes that he won’t sell – his ‘97 Heritage that family friend Lil rides backseat with him and an ‘09 Crossbones which is faster than most race bikes he ever built. Wrench also leads a back-roads ride each Wednesday during the summer and switches to Saturday afternoon once the evenings get too cool. He also leads a group named the Last Resort Riders who offer assistance to people in need. Unfortunately, tough economic times have prevented people from contributing to the various “good deed” organizations that exist. At this time, the Last Resort Riders mainly support Toys for Tots each year, as well as a “Christmas in July” charity fundraiser at Seaford Harley-Davidson.

“I’ve gone from the end of the street to a little over 100 miles at one time. I don’t think that’s too bad for a guy that couldn’t even open a beer can or walk a few years ago,” says Wrench. “I pray a lot; especially when riding.” Wrench considers himself more spiritual than religious. He believes that a higher power exists and that he has certainly been blessed Pork, Lil, his daughter and all his friends are his greatest blessings. His Harleys and ‘wind therapy’ are a close second. “I will ride ‘til I die,” says Wrench, “I fully intend to follow the advice tattooed on my right arm.” What is that advice? LIVE HARD, RIDE FAST, BUT SURVIVE TO DIE WORN OUT.

Wrench placed ads in the local paper and waited for a buyer. The bike ran like a beast and finally, one day, he couldn’t bear it any longer. He thought, “What do I have to lose? If I kill myself trying to ride it, it would only be me and I am not afraid of death!” Once he was on the bike, Wrench put his cane aside and rode around the block. Then he went a little further, and still further. Pork was usually following him. Then, one day, he just started riding. Pork road backseat with her husband for over 20 years but is not comfortable doing so now. One of Pork’s best 5

by John Robinson, Legislative Representative When talking to people and ABATE comes up in the conversation, I get either one of two responses. If the person has heard of ABATE, their response is ‘oh, you are the helmet people’. If they have never heard of ABATE they want to know what it is, and what it is that we do. So I try to explain. I guess in a way, we are the helmet people, although we are so much more than that. Yes, we do believe in freedom of choice for adult motorcyclists when it comes to safety equipment, including helmets. We also believe in educating motorcyclists so that they can make their own informed decision on what they need to be safe on the road. As far as what ABATE is, ABATE is a grassroots lobbying organization that works hard for all the motorcyclists in the State of Maryland. We try to pass laws that are beneficial to motorcyclists and fight the ones that are harmful.

Our members are in Annapolis every Monday night during the Legislative Session, working on behalf of all the State’s riders. We lobby for and against bills; attend fundraisers; and represent the motorcycling communities in a positive light. The last thing everyone wants to know is what does ABATE stand for. In Maryland, it stands for A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments. What it comes down to is this, ABATE of Maryland, Inc. is the only organization in the State that is exclusively engaged in representing the rights of Maryland Motorcyclists. For more information regarding ABATE, visit www. ABATEOFMD.org. For more information regarding ABATE in states other than Maryland, chose the LINKS option on the opening page.

BOOMERS TROPICAL BAR AND GRILL • NEW CASTLE, DE By Jay Kuch, Mystery Food Critique

Welcome to perfect riding weather! It’s not too hot during the day and just cold enough at night to keep you alert. Call me crazy but those shivers while riding at night make me feel good. This month my travels took me to New Castle, Delaware and I stumbled across Boomers Tropical Bar and Grill. It was like walking into a restaurant right on the beach - bright colored walls, chairs and plenty of beach-themed decor. I was directed to a booth and given a menu to look over. There were many offerings and I started with some crab dune waffle fries, a cup of crab soup, and the Long Board for my main course. I decided to take a walk around while I waited for my food and found an awesome 30 foot back bar complete with flat screens and plenty of seating to accommodate any size party. I poked around a little more before returning to my table to find food waiting for me - a bowl piled high with waffle fries topped with hot sauce, crab meat, old bay and cheese. The blend of flavors worked well and I had to pry myself away from them when my soup arrived. I was surprised by the huge soup bowl full of rich, creamy crab soup with chunks of crab. This was easily one of the best crab soups I’ve ever had. Dinner arrived and I was ready to dig in. My meal consisted of flat bread topped with spinach, crab, lobster, and shrimp imperial, all toasted to perfection, with a loaded baked potato on the side. The flavors meshed very well and the seafood was fresh. I was pleasantly surprised by the caliber of food that Boomers offered and all at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, at the time of my visit, Boomers had just opened and their liquor license was not yet approved. Hopefully it will be by the time you are reading this. I would definitely recommend Boomers to my readers. The staff was friendly, food was great, prices were reasonable and atmosphere was cool. Boomers is located at 1102 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, Delaware. Until next time, remember, it’s just another day in paradise. Do you know a biker-friendly venue that serves great food? Drop me a line at Jay@flbdelmarva.com.

VIEW FROM THE ROAD by Michelle ‘Shell’ Holcomb Are you going all that way by yourself? Aren’t you afraid? How do you hold that thing up? What does your husband think of you riding by yourself? If you’re a male biker, I bet you’ve never been asked those questions. But for women bikers it’s normal conversation. What surprises me most is these questions come from both men and women alike.

to the mix and their fascination doubles. I sometimes attempt to break the ice by saying hello and answering questions. It doesn’t matter how silly the questions are. My husband refers to me as the “old man magnet.” It seems older men are totally fascinated by women riders. They love to talk to me about the days when they used to ride or how cool it is to see a woman riding. Some years ago, while on the 911 ride, a woman and her children pulled up next to me at a New York City stop light. They smiled and wave to me. As I returned the wave, the mom rolled down her window and said, “WOW! I wish I could do that!” Her little girls were gleaming. My husband leaned in from next to me and said “You’re never too old to learn!” She smiled and traffic began to move. The little girls and mom gave me the thumbs up. What a great feeling. As a woman biker, over the years I have discovered that this is the perfect opportunity to educate the public on the joys of motorcycle riding. I’m proving to everyone that motorcycle riding is not just for men and to women; I am living proof that you can do anything you put your mind to. Most importantly, I enjoy showing the younger female generations that, as they grow up, they will have the same opportunity to be whatever they want to be. It really makes me proud to be a woman rider.

It’s 2012 and people still can’t get over women riding motorcycles. I have chosen to take this opportunity to educate people on the biker lifestyle – particularly with respect to women bikers. We aren’t criminals or loose women. We may dress a little different and some of us may sport tattoos but we want the same things all women want - family, love, equal opportunities. Yes, I am normal. But it seems no matter where I ride people are amazed by women on motorcycles. I mostly pretend not to notice the double takes or sneaky peeks – especially when they see an older woman rider. Annual Delmarva Bike Week Riding FREE and Partying FREE for 12 Years! Well apparently bikers DO care about the future of free events. That was evidenced by the successful turnout at the 12th Annual Official Delmarva Bike Week® Motorcycle Rally. The four official DBW locations are: Purdue Stadium and Winter Park Place in Salisbury, MD; Seaford Harley-Davison in Seaford, DE; and Seacrets in Ocean City, MD. Party Block – the complex that takes up an entire city block in Ocean City, MD, incorporating three clubs and a pool bar under one roof. Who knew? Now we do! Party Block is located at 17th & Coastal Highway and was the host venue of choice for the Official Delmarva Bike Week® After Party. Bikers from all over the east coast came out to help us celebrate another successful turnout at the 12th Annual Delmarva Bike Week® motorcycle rally. By Friday night the word was out and one of Delmarva’s favorite bands, Great Train Robbery, played to a packed house. For those who made it to Party Block before 10 p.m., there was NO COVER. How cool is that?? Also on the agenda was the now notorious Fast Lane Biker Hot Cougar Contest. This year, 15 contestants, age 35 and up, strut their stuff on the stage for a chance to win a photo shoot and prizes courtesy of event sponsor, LoveFifi.com. Congratulations to Melissa, our 2012 winner! Look for Melissa’s Hot Cougar photo shoot in a future issue of FLBD. At Saturday night’s Leather and Lace Ball, Virginia-based band Rebelicious performed southern rock favorites in one club while the Party Block DJ spun dance music in another - something for everyone! Congratulations to the trio of young ladies who won the Hot Kiss Contest - what happens at Party Block stays at Party Block! FLBD September cover model, Heather, and Capt. Mango were on hand for photo ops and to autograph copies of the September issue of FLBD. August cover model, Ainsley, and future cover model, Kristy, our FLBD party facilitators, posed for pictures, handed out glow bracelets, danced all night and just had a great time with the crowd! Special thanks to C&C Cycle, Chuck’s Custom Classics and Indian of New Jersey for providing the variety of bikes on display inside the club and who made themselves available to talk bikes and answer any questions. We’d also like to thank Anthony and Michelle Martone of Star Photos of VA for lending their mad photography skills to help us cover the event. You can view additional photos from the Official Delmarva Bike Week® After Party on our website at www. flbdelmarva.com. Finally, we’d like to offer a “Job Well Done” to Ralph DeAngelus at Party Block and his Incredible Staff for their hard work and commitment to making everyone feel welcome! See you all in 2013!

The seat is 18” off the ground and the bike is a blast to ride that low especially with the foot clutch and jockey shift.”

72ND STURGIS RALLY 2012 by Alicia BBA Helfrich

Just the name of the town alone, Sturgis, can bring back memories or evoke longing to experience this legendary Black Hills Rally. Sturgis, a.k.a. The City of Riders. The Sturgis rally was on my bucket list and I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to make the journey. I experienced ten days of travel, fun, food, drinking, craziness, riding, and site seeing – and it was non-stop. Day 1 & 2: We decided to trailer since there were two of us with three bikes (the Chopper had to come along!). But I’m glad we did. Driving straight through 28 hours, with one hour sleep at a rest stop, was easy to do. Our adrenaline was high and we wanted to get there fast. Part of this exciting experience was passing all the bikers and trailers as we moved from state to state, knowing they were Sturgis-bound. Day 3: Once we reached South Dakota we rode directly towards the Badlands, the first of many National Parks on our itinerary. Viewing the 37 million year old fossil beds at sunset was spectacular! We moved onward and arrived in Rapid City around midnight where we checked into our hotel. We chose this location because it is conveniently located near both Sturgis and Mt. Rushmore, two destinations on our list. Day 4: We stopped at a local saloon in Keystone on our way to see the four famous guys of Mt. Rushmore. I insisted on ordering fried buffalo balls (taste like chicken!) and we were back on the road. Once we arrived at Mt. Rushmore we took our time touring this incredible man-made wonder. You can’t feel more American than when viewing the Presidential carvings. Eventually we moved on to the Crazy Horse monument (which is still in progress). Next we stopped at Hill City and the famous Alpine Inn, an early 1800s hotel built for the gold miners. There was only ONE menu item so the choice was easy - filet mignon wrapped in bacon. Day 5: Today was a big riding day as we mastered the hairpin turns and curves of Needles Highway. The rock formations jet into the sky and narrow passageways were formed by boulders. As we came down the mountain we rode through the Custer State Park Loop looking for buffalo. We hit the mini-rally in the town of Custer and purchased the customary souvenirs. I treated my friend Mike to his first (and probably last) wine tasting at the Naked Winery (you don’t chug wine!). We left Custer and

as we rode through Hell Canyon at dusk, I knew I made a wrong turn. A few miles from Wyoming, we turned around. Oh well, adventure happens. Day 6: Sturgis! We spent a full day and night walking Main Street and surrounding areas - it was frickin’ awesome! I stalked the center line on Main Street and snatched some prime parking as two couples were pulling out. Next, I handed over $5 to climb the tower steps located at each end of Main Street so I could get the “aerial” view. Once that craving was satiated, it was time to hit a few bars and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. From there we strolled the area checking out girls in body paint and pasties, cool looking rides, and the crazy headliner action at the popular bars like One Eyed Jacks, Knuckle Saloon, Oasis, and Loud American. We finally gave up our prime parking spots and headed to the Full Throttle Saloon to meet with friends. Damn, what a great time there. People zip lining above our heads and Travis Tritt in concert. A “smoking mandatory” sign hung above the burn out pit and shouting was the only way to converse as we watched these knuckleheads pop tires. Then it was time to travel the 30 miles back to Rapid City. We met up with friends and started with one for the road (just one) at the Broken Spoke Saloon. The six of us then traveled to Hulett, WY (a/k/a No Panty Wednesdays). After lunch, we were off to Devil’s Tower – amazing! From Devil’s Tower we stopped at the “Welcome to Montana” sign as we crossed over the border. We were greeted by open ranges and mountains as far as the eye could see. Our destination was Alzada, MT to the Stoneville Saloon for “Topless Tuesday.” Disappointment rang out from the guys when we learned topless was only available between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. – it was 6 p.m. Sorry dudes! We headed back to SD and the Broken Spoke where I took a moment to visit my friend, Charlie Ransom, of the Wall of Death. (always good to see you, Charlie!) Day 7: In the morning, we stopped at the Black Hills Cemetery to pay our respects to the Veterans before moving onward to the Buffalo Chip. The Chip offered a new venue called “The Crossroads” for those who didn’t hold the big concert tickets. This allowed you to 27

enjoy smaller bands, vendors and more, free of charge. This is where I met my Idol, Betsy Huelskamp. Betsy writes a column for Women Riders Now. It was Betsy’s 27th Sturgis and it was like meeting a celebrity. I was also able to meet Gloria Tramontin. Gloria is 86 years young and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011. She has owned 14 motorcycles during the past 65 years and currently rides a Harley Heritage Softail Classic. Last year she rode from NJ to Sturgis, averaging 600 miles a day. I was so honored to have met both Gloria and Betsy. But now it was time to get back to downtown Sturgis for dancing and some more craziness. Day 8: It was a little rough getting out of bed but I knew I had more to explore. I cracked the whip on myself and we headed to Spearfish to get a closer look at the Bridal Veil Falls. Next stop was Deadwood where wall-to-wall bikes lined the streets and parking lots. Casinos and dinner at the No.10 Saloon (where Wild Bill Hickock was shot) rounded out the day before we made the long, dark ride back to Rapid City.

Day 9 & 10: It was time to leave South Dakota but I wasn’t prepared to do so. I made one last pit stop to purchase handcrafted beer to take back home and I also managed to procure a Sturgis 2012 banner that was hung from the ceiling (courtesy of the very kind clerk who gave it to me for free). We also stopped at Wall Drug - a tourist trap for sure, but a fun place. Finally we began the trip home, stopping in Amana, IA (yes, they make Amana appliances in this town) where we checked into a hotel for much needed rest before the final stretch of our return trip – and back to reality. I hope to visit Sturgis again but, no matter what, the memories of this incredible journey will stay with me my entire life. See You in the Fast Lane!

THE WELL WORN Old man... Your vest is well worn - It has seen better days, Like when it hung beside your bike In the middle of the living room The leather still strong and street black. Old man... Your steed has carried you far Through wind and rain And narrow pass roads Hidden in winter’s whiteouts Or clicking and cranking down While you both rested In summer campgrounds Beside rivers and hills A day’s journey up ahead... Old man... Your memories are packed In saddle bags and photos Of bike runs to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, While the horizon of Connecticut Held you steady with traces Of your Yankee family ties And roads that brought you back Again and again. Old man... Your life has twisted into knots So much lost, never to be replaced A mean streak fills in the spaces Left by roads that just led nowhere Rusting your chrome and stripping love From your heart like a thief in the night Old man... You have forgotten

On the farm lived a chicken and a horse, both of whom loved to play together. One day, the two were playing when the horse fell into a bog and began to sink. Scared for his life, the horse whinnied for the chicken to go get the farmer for help! Off the chicken ran, back to the farm. Arriving at the farm, he searched and searched for the farmer, but to no avail, for he had gone to town with the only tractor. Running around, the chicken spied the farmer’s new Harley. Finding the keys in the ignition, the chicken sped off with a length of rope hoping he still had time to save his friend’s life. Back at the bog, the horse was surprised, but happy, to see the chicken arrive on the shiny Harley, and he managed to get a hold of the loop of rope the chicken tossed to him. After tying the other end to the rear bumper of the farmer’s bike, the chicken then drove slowly forward and, with the aid of the powerful bike, rescued the horse! Happy and proud, the chicken rode the Harley back to the farmhouse, and the farmer was none the wiser when he returned. The friendship between the two animals was cemented: best buddies, best pals. A few weeks later, the chicken fell into a mud pit, and soon, he too, began to sink and cried out to the horse to save his life! The horse thought a moment, walked over, and straddled the large puddle. Looking underneath, he told the chicken to grab his dick and he would then lift him out of the pit. The chicken got a good grip, and the horse pulled him up and out, saving his life. The moral of the story? When you’re hung like a horse, you don’t need a Harley to pick up chicks. ☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼☺☼ JUST SAY NO! A ten year-old boy was walking down the street when a big man on a black motorcycle, pulls up beside him and asks, “Hey kid, wanna go for a ride?” “No!”, said the boy, and he kept on walking. The motorcyclist pulls up to him again and says, “Hey kid,, I’ll give you $10 if you hop on the back” “NO!” said the boy and proceeded down the street a little quicker. The motorcyclist pulls up to the boy again and says, “Ok kid, I’ll give you $20 and a BIG bag of candy if you hop on the back for a ride.” At this point the boy turns around to him and screams angrily, “Look Dad, YOU bought the Honda, so YOU ride it!!

BRAD & MERLON ROGERS

Well biker season is almost over and some of you still have not serviced your bike. Walking past it and noting no oil leaks, no flat tires, or no rattle or knocking when you start it is not servicing your bike. How to do it right:

1) Change the oil, either 20-50 synthetic or regular 20-50. 2) Change the oil filter and use the right one. 3) Check the primary oil and change it, if required. While you are at it, check the primary chain adjustments. 4) Check the tires for the right tire pressure, cracks and tread wear. 5) Check all lights. It’s a matter of safety. 6) Check the rear belt or chain for proper adjustment. Proper servicing can save you a lot of money and/or downtown and keep you and your passengers safe. Also, if you are not sure how to do any of the above, buy a book about your bike and learn or have your bike serviced by a knowledgeable mechanic. Proper servicing can add a lot of life to your bike. For the winter, add gas additive to keep the gas from breaking down. Give your batter a full charge then disconnect the battery. Doing this will help keep you from being the person who breaks down along the road that other riders have to stop and wait for. Brad & Merion B&M Performance Cycles 33

1-888-CYCLE-LAW . LeeGaber@cycleattorney.com . www.cycleattorney.com for next years events, I am writing this article to ask those of you who read my article on a regular basis, to contact us via our FaceBook page, Lee D. Gaber - The Cycle Attorney, and give us your suggestions as to the types of items you would like as a give-a-away during next years shows.

For those of you who have met me at both Pennsylvania and New Jersey motorcycle events, you know that I am always trying to come up with unique ways to advertise the fact that my firm focuses its practice on handling PA and NJ motorcycle accidents. As I think back over the years and to the items we have handed out advertising our specialty as one of Pennsylvania’s only law firms that focuses its practice on motorcycle accidents, I am reminded as to how long we have been advertising this way as I remember the key-chain pocket knives we used to hand out prior to September 11, 2001.

In addition to the advertising materials, if you have any suggestions for topics you would like me address, please feel free to comment on that as well. As always, if upon reading this material you have any questions regarding this topic or any others, please feel free to contact me at LeeGaber@cycleattorney. com or 1-888-CYCLE-LAW (1-888-292-5352).

More recently we started giving away “chip-clips” in black and orange with our name, e-mail and phone number on them to remind everybody that if you, or someone you know, are involved in a motorcycle accident in either PA or NJ all you have to do is open up your snack drawer or pantry and look for our contact information. As most of you are aware, we do not charge anything for a motorcycle accident consultation unless we are successful in obtaining a recovery for pain and suffering caused by a motorcycle accident.

Sincerely, LEE D. GABER, Esquire The one and only “Cycle Attorney”

Just to be clear, we do not charge for mail, making or taking telephone calls, photocopies, faxing, storage fees or many of the other “junk” fees that most other attorneys charge when they distribute your settlement. By the way, most of these charges are taken out of your share of the settlement quite often leaving the client with less money than the attorney, and you are the one who hired the motorcycle accident attorney in the first place! An additional item we added this year were customized nail files, which are imprinted on both sides with our phone number, website and e-mail, to again make it as easy as possible for any of you to contact us should you be involved in a motorcycle accident. As we begin to think about what we should order
