OUR INCLUSION STATEMENT
The Levin JCC is committed to the inclusion of people of all abilities, backgrounds, denominations, gender identity and religious affiliations into all of our programs. Based on the Jewish value of B’Tzelem Elohim –that all people are created in the image of God- we embrace pluralism and welcome the diversity of every member of our community. We are committed to making the Levin JCC a barrier free environment. In the same way that the facility was designed to be inclusionary, with several familystyle bathrooms, a zero entrance pool, and with all windows around the building spaced at different heights—we strive to make our programs equally inclusionary. The Levin JCC is a place where truly, everyone is welcome.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR If you’re not a member of the JCC, this is the best time to join. This is my favorite time of year! It is the time when people come from all over the Durham and Chapel Hill area to become part of the JCC family. It is the time when people consciously decide to focus on their own wellbeing. The J can be your home away from home. Make 2015 your year. Join the JCC and feel invigorated both emotionally and physically by participating in some of the many activities and classes we offer. Participate in the social, community activity, Mitzvah Day, where you can give back to the Durham and Chapel Hill communities by getting involved in one of our many charity-focused community-wide projects.
Get physically fit by taking one of our many daily fitness classes like Zumba™, Yoga, Cycling, or Tabata. Jump on the treadmill or lift weights in our state-of-the-art fitness center. Join one of our pick-up basketball games where you can get fit and meet great friends at the same time. Train with a JCC personal trainer and learn how to push yourself in a safe and effective way. The opportunities to meet new friends while having fun at the J are endless.
Susan Levy
Executive Director Levin JCC
If you join the JCC by January 31st, we will waive the initiation fee and give you your first month of membership for FREE. This is our biggest promotion of the year so don’t wait! Take advantage of a JCC membership today and begin the New Year by treating yourself!

As parents, we worry about the well-being of our kids; about their future, and about our role in shaping it. How do we keep them safe, while encouraging their independence? When should we motivate them by incentive, and when by establishing firm consequences? And how do we build their self-esteem to prepare them mentally and emotionally for the long road ahead? In The Art of Parenting, we scale the challenges that face us as parents and explore timeless insights from Jewish wisdom to instill values, foster independence, and ensure the long-term success and emotional well-being of our children.
