“According to native American folklore, ‘Dreamcatchers’ filter out all our bad dreams and allow only good thoughts to enter into our minds. They use the first rays of sunlight to dissolve our bad dreams. Just like the Dreamcatchers, I aspire for my designs to allow only good thoughts to enter peoples minds and help brighten up their lives.” Personal Details:

The t-shirt designs were made in a group of two, to submit as an entry in the t-shirt design competition, during the annual college festival- Quasar. The theme for this year was illusion. Here we tried to create an illusion of two scripts in one. The Roman and Devnagri scripts have been combined to spell the word Quasar.

06/Classroom Project/Identity Re-Design

The Hitavada (The People’s Paper), is the largest selling broadsheet English daily newspaper of Central India. It recently completed 102 years. Image 1 shows the existing Mast head of the newspaper. Image 2 shows the redesigned mast head. The purpose of redesigning was to give an ‘authoritative’

and ‘wise’ identity to the newspaper. Also a visual heirarchy was kept in mind while redesigning so as to increase the user experience and convinience while looking at the information on the mast head.

Dinshaw’s is a dairy that manufactures a large range of products. Their identity has been designed keeping in mind their vision and mission. The company believes in delivering quality products that are healthy and fun. The final identity has been based on a splash of milk, since everything they make is a

milk product. Also the splash was arranged in the shape of a heart to show health and delight. The cool colour scheme immediately relates to a dairy. A handwritten font was chosen since it shows attention to detail and adds a humanistic touch.

08/Live Project/Identity Design

The Human centered development design project aims to find and solve a development problem common in India’s urban slums. Its focus is to find a design based solution and implement it in a way that it becomes part of the local knowledge. Thus the main aim is to empower the locals of these slums, so

that they can help themselves. The identity was designed keeping in mind the main focus of this project i.e to help the locals move forward on their own. The symbol for ‘forward’ is well recognised throughout the world and hence immediately conveys the meaning to the viewers.

Ayana is a hypothetical spa. An environment like this can immediately be related to the word serene. The form of the identity has been derived keeping in mind a calm soothing smile, the Dhyaan Mudra and the gentle swaying leaves. The chosen colours can be related to water and earth. Thus giving a refreshing feel.

Revolve is a hypothetical event management company. It organises social as well as corporate events on different scales. For an event management company the main aim is to be flexible and adaptable, thus the identity has been designed in such a way that it may adapt to any event that the company organises. The final logo is a monogram

which gives a sense of motion (revolve). Also, a dynamic look shows that the company is always on its toes. The bounding circle depicts that the company manages the event entirely without any glitches. The inhouse graphic team of the company may change the background of the logo according to the visual language of the organised event.

11/Classroom Project/Awareness Campaign

Adoption is a legal process by which a child is placed with a married couple or a single adult who agrees to raise the child as their own and assume all responsibility for the child. The most basic reason for adopting is to create or build a family. But the specific reasons that motivate adoption vary among different people. India is a country where many people are

culturally and religiously bound. They dont want to adopt because they let the gender, caste and religion make decisions. Others who dont have these issues face personal issues and also pressures from the society. An awareness campaign can motivate the people to adopt and in turn help build lives.

12/Classroom Project/Awareness Campaign

The idea was to connect to the emotional side of the people. Adoption was to be promoted as a social responsibility. Couples wanting a second child, single people and/or couples who can/cannot concieve needed to be addressed. The most appropriate place, where it would affect the most would be national magazines and newspapers.

The posters were designed in such a way that they connected emotionally with the target audience. The innocence of a child has been used to draw the attention of the target audience.

13/Self-initiated Project/Photography

The photoshoot was done in and around our college campus. It was to exhibit a dress made by my friend Nikita Saraf.

14/Self-initiated Project/Photography

The photograph on the extreme right has been inspired by the over exposure photography style of Richard Avedon. For me photography is all about experimenting, capturing emotions and experiences.

15/Self-initiated Project/Painting

The paintings on extreme right and left are one-stroke acrylic paintings done on a textured paper. The one in the middle is an oil painting on canvas board.

16/Self-initiated Project/Sketching

The first two sketches were made to study the anatomy of plants and humans. The sketch on extreme right has been made using a Kajal stick on cartridge paper.
