Artist Statement: Art is a wordless language that unites people regardless of age, gender, nationality, or political association. Artists share a lineage that dates to ancient cave paintings. I paint and create digital art, collages, graffiti, video projections, and 3D art. HICAE (Human Intelligence Creative Expression) Art is my digital art parallel acronym for AI (Artificial Intelligence) Art. I regard AI as another step in the evolution of creativity. The wide variety of tools, techniques, and ingenuity employed in the creation of visual arts make it one of the most fascinating abilities human beings possess, alongside music and writing. Each visual arts technique enriches society with mesmerizing uniqueness, including collage, drawing, painting, photography, 3D, and AI and HICAE Art. And, behind it all, is the miracle of the human mind. I live in Miami, Florida. I was born in Cuba and have lived in Spain, New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts. I have participated in group and solo exhibitions in Colombia, Ecuador, England, France, Mexico, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United States.

My story:
My grandmother’s garden is the most heartfelt keepsake of my early years; that magical place became the catalyst for the art I create today. The scrapbook of my mind is filled with treasured memories of time spent alone in that sacred space.
My early years were tumultuous and unsettling. At age five, communism forever changed my family’s trajectory; by age nine, I witnessed the demise of my father’s life work and his heart attack and nervous breakdown. Shortly after, our home and belongings were confiscated, and our family sought shelter in my grandparents’ Victorian country house.
For three years, my parents struggled to get us out of Cuba, and I started to believe we may never leave. Then, suddenly, we packed their bags and boarded a plane for Madrid, Spain, where we lived for eleven months. I was fascinated by my ancestral history, architecture, museums, and gardens. I fell in love with the old city but, for the third time in my short life, had to wave goodbye to a place I came to love.
Life in the United States was very different. My parents struggled to rebuild what they no longer had enough time to replicate: the life they lost and mourned. But they were persistent and resilient; the family set roots, I met my soulmate, and we started on the creative path that, to this day, gives profound meaning to our lives.
I experienced many impactful moments throughout my life, but the three years spent among my grandmother's flowers, birds, butterflies, and ever-changing skies filled me with the wonder that fuels my poetry and art.
Asleep, Awake

Asleep, awake.
Day after day, night after night. Living, waiting to die.
Constricted lifespan comprising youth and old age, illusions and reality, vitality and infirmity.
Vivid dreams turned nightmares, carefree steps become shuffles. Sharp mind muddled, eyes out of focus.
Created to be obliterated, deposited to be collected. Allotted time to create memories that well up tears
in the sorrowful eyes of those few who remember that we used to be here.
