This issue of Faith Unlimited is full of articles concerning Holy Spirit. If you are one who do not totally understand Holy Spirit, read these articles and glean from them. God will speak to you through the written word.

As a child of God, Father God has already taken care of some things for you. He sent His Son, Jesus, to the earth where he died, was buried, and resurrected. In doing this, Jesus paid for EVERYTHING. For instance, He paid for the forgiveness of your sins, past, present, and future. Jesus will not come and die on the cross again, He paid for ALL sins at that one time.

He also paid for ALL sickness and disease at the cross. He will not come down to earth and take the stripes again for your healing. He did it once, for all.

Father God wants us to let all His children know that He loves them with an everlasting and unconditional love. If a child makes a mistake, that does not take Father God’s love away, just like it does not take a parent’s love away if their child messes up.

Just remember, God loves YOU and He will NEVER leave you! You may try to walk away from Him, but He will ALWAYS be there for you. God Bless you! Thank you for your dedication to Faith Unlimited!

Jude 20-21 “20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

It is important to know that the theme of this section of scripture is often entitled, “Maintain Your Life with God.” Once we become enlightened to the truth of Jesus, many times people never give another thought to any type of maintaining this experience you have encountered. In the secular world, we might identify such a thing as “continuing education.”

As I have said in previous articles, it was in the 1500’s that Martin Luther referred to the practice of speaking in tongues as the ability to translate ones known language into another known language. Others of his time also had similar opinions on this same subject. However, speaking in tongues or praying in tongues is much more than “translating ones known language into other languages.”

What I have experienced in the past, and something that is still true today which is that praying in tongues is live continuing education in the sense that it produces a continuous flow of life to my body and soul. The truth is that some groups believe that praying in tongues is not for us today.

Some say that praying in tongues is a language that can be learned through a natural means. But, that is not according to the Bible when it comes to this supernatural language which only comes through a divine impartation and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

So, how does praying in tongues helps us keep our walk moving in the proper direction? In the epistle of Jude, we find that he urges others to defend what has been deposited in them concerning the teachings of Christ. Therefore, in this epistle of Jude, verse 20 and 21, we are given instructions on how to build ourselves up in every area of life.

First of all, Jude addresses believers and calls them, “beloved,” and he says, “building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” What this means for me is that if you struggle with praying in a supernatural language which your human mind cannot comprehend, then pray in faith, believing that you are following the instructions of God’s Word concerning the New Covenant church at Pentecost.

When it comes to maintaining your walk in Christ, praying in tongues alone is not enough. As you pray in tongues, it is important to have some sort of idea about what is happening in you as well.

Not only are you building up or strengthening your soulish man, but Jude also says, “keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

I believe that praying in tongues can be used both privately and publicly and is extremely important. However, when we do pray in tongues, this special communication with God acts as a medium for energizing you and me, in our private time as well.

So, whether we just step out of our private place of communication with the Lord; and then, into a public place of ministry, it is a good idea to be consciously aware of this power we have learned to tap into. Often times, Spirit-filled believers are accustomed to praying in tongues. But the same many times fail when it comes to walking in the love of God toward others. So, what is the purpose of praying in tongues?

The scriptures we looked at in the epistle of Jude seem to tell us that praying in tongues is a good thing. But do not forget that walking in love toward the people in our world is extremely important as well. If we refuse to walk in love toward people, and at the same time expect and look for the mercy of the Lord Jesus to work for us, then without attempting to condemn anyone, we need to look at verse 21 again.

Jude V.21 says, “keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” So, if we “keep ourselves in the love of God” by using the power of praying in tongues, then the mercy of God will manifest when we share Jesus with other people.

One of the things non–believers say about Christians is that we say we believe what the Bible says, but then we practice something that is the complete opposite. If the Bible says to love one another or to love all mankind, and then we display dislike, and hatred toward others, it is a definite turn off for non–believers today. How about this: Let us the instrument of praying in tongues as a means of energizing our love toward others, so that we display the best witness of Christ that we possibly can.

I do not believe that praying in tongues is the only witness we can have before the world. But I certainly believe that displaying God’s love in an act of kindness of deeds or words will definitely help others believe in the same Jesus that I do. So, when it comes to keeping your walk pointed in the right direction, praying in tongues is a valuable tool.

But, remember when you have those days you are struggling with the attitudes and rudeness of others, get away somewhere and spend a little time praying in the Holy Spirit. …Think about it!

by: Wendell Phillips Phil Berwick St Louis is where I am placed, and where I have taken root to do my small part to uproot the things that need to be uprooted and plant the things that should be planted. As an Arborist of 40 years, I am disheartened that St Louis has opted to cut down 14,000 mostly healthy Green Ash Trees. I know the past Commissioner of Forestry who made that decision, and I am sure he was dealing with a bureaucracy that didn't want to spend money or effort in the effectual treatment that major cities east, and west and north and south of St Louis have opted to do.

I followed the out of state tree service contractor the city of St Louis chose to use. And as much as I hated seeing mature and healthy air purifying trees come down, the very least St Louis could have done was awarded several area tree companies the bid. Instead they used a large multi-state firm. The crews were from Wichita, Kansas City and Dallas. And why did the city not send their OWN forestry crews to remove the trees, if they did not use their own crews to preventatively treat them?

Because they use the St Louis Forestry Division to bulldoze down homeless camps. I watched them do it.

I could go on and on how this will negatively impact the once shady streets of a hot city in the summer and reduce property values. But I will suggest that anyone who desires to have their parkway Ash tree treated can go to the City of St Louis Forestry site and go to the link about Emerald Ash Borer and apply to pay to have the city owned Ash on your parkway injected. I will also be available to inject or to train others how to do it.

Now, you can ask; how are the homeless linked up with the removal of the trees? Answer; The city, didn't want to deal with saving the trees, and is making them go away. In the same way they didn't want to deal with the homeless and are also (trying) to make them go away. The only 24-hour emergency shelter, New Life Evangelistic Christian Center church and shelter was shut down last spring, because the city did not want the homeless down town. The truth of it is that they are walking downtown anyway from the limited shelter that the government opened. I have watched crack and heroin dealers lurking and dealing outside of the city's Biddle House.

The good part of the good, bad and ugly of closing the shelter at the behest of a wealthy property owner and donor of both the outgoing and new mayor, is that several churches came up to bat, and answered the call of good Samaritans of our city, opening their sanctuaries and their fellowship halls. I wish to name them including; St Peter AME (African American Episcopal) Church, Destiny Church (the one in the hood on Cottage Ave), Calvary Church, Apostles Church, Travelers Missionary Baptist Church, and New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Ferguson.

There have been many unsung heroes staying up all night and driving and searching and finding the homeless, feeding them, stocking up on gloves, coats, and necessities, shuttling them from church shelter to church shelter. Every one of these churches are in lower class neighborhoods and did what Jesus would do. I personally shuttled wheel chair bound women and others on several occasions and was very mad in knowing that had the city not slandered and shut the NLEC 24-hour shelter, that these ladies and many others would have been staying with dignity in a safe place for as long as they needed to be.

Presently Rev Larry Rice has sold his channel 24 Television station and has begun to fix the city of St Louis' "honey do list" which was extensive and with which they offered no help. But now that he and his team have performed the requirements, they are making him attain signatures and a petition of his neighbors. Although 25 businesses on Washington signed a petition of his in the past, this time the requirement is for the dwellers of the two lofts where he, not his team, are allowed inside. The city has also purposefully placed a day school across the street enabling them to disallow the reopening. Rev Rice could have walked away with millions on the sturdy YMCA building that he paid $50,000 for 47 years ago. The nobility of this man remains and the ignobility of the upper echelon of this city remains.

John 14:16 (KJV) – And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.

Being God, Jesus never lacked foresight. Though His departure was eminent, He was not going to leave His disciples alone. Thus, He informed them that they would soon be joined by another Helper, the Holy Spirit. Using the word “another” (allos), Jesus assured them that this Comforter would be one like Him, one who would do the same things that He would do if physically present with them. The Holy Spirit, we may recall, was sent to the disciples after His ascension, on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). Recalling that, we might be inclined to ask, “What kinds of things does the Comforter do like Jesus?” Like Jesus during His incarnation, the Holy Spirit gives us consolation or encouragement, imparts to us His joy during trials, and, after we have experienced forgiveness for our sins, conveys to us times of refreshing.

Let us consider first the Holy Spirit’s work related to consolation or encouragement. In Acts 9:31 (NKJ) we read, “Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.” As was often true with the early Church and as recorded in Acts 9:31, periods of persecution were followed by times in which the Holy Spirit provided succor and inspiration. Likewise, when we endure maltreatment for our faith, God’s love compels the Holy Spirit to bring us such times. Without them, we may fall prey to temptations to discouragement. What a blessing it is to know that God is

faithful, for He will “not allow us to be tempted beyond what” we “are able, but with the temptation will also make a way of escape, that” we “may be able to bear it” (1 Cor. 10:13, NKJ). Doing so, He will visit us with consolation or encouragement.

Next, let us consider the Comforter’s work of imparting to believers joy during trials. In 2 Corinthians 7:4 (NKJ) Paul states, “Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.” Here, we find Paul in a time of great pressure, oppression, and affliction, what some might describe as dire straits. Humanly speaking, it could be expected that Paul would reflect this distress in his outward demeanor, in the form of fear, worry, or anxiety. Yet, such was not the case. Instead, He was exceedingly joyful. How was this so?

It was so because Paul experienced the comfort of the Holy Spirit. As was true with Paul, so is it true with us today. We need not be overcome with despair, anguish, and dread during trials. Instead, we can know heavenly bliss. How? We can do so because the Holy Spirit resides in and with us.

Finally, we come to the Comforter who conveys to us times of refreshing. We read in Acts 3:19 (NKJ), “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” Tragically, we have all, at times, been enticed to sin. And, though there is pleasure in sin for a season (Heb. 11:25), we come to understand, if we have not already, that “the way of the transgressor is hard” (Prov. 13:15, ASV). Recognizing our sin, we confess it to God and find that “He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, NKJ). Cleansed from the effects of sin, we are then positioned to receive times of refreshing. It is in those times that our walks with Christ are reinvigorated, revitalized, and revived. What a blessing it is to experience such times of refreshing from the Holy Spirit.

We have seen and many of us have experienced that the Holy Spirit brings consolation or encouragement, gives us joy during trials, and provides times of refreshing. How thankful we should ever be that Jesus did not leave us alone after His ascension. Alone, we could easily be overcome by fear, hopelessness, worry, anxiety, dread, discouragement, and despair. Yet, Jesus is a faithful Savior who did not leave us alone. He sent one like Him to take His place, the blessed Holy Spirit, our Comforter!

by: Dave Kachele I’ll start with a story. I’m writing this the day after Valentine’s Day, so the story is appropriate. Many moons ago, not long after I was saved I began asking God, if it was His will, to help me find a Christian wife. After a time, I thought He was speaking the name of a sister in the Lord to my heart. I had not dated this girl. We were friends and in a Bible study together. (For our younger readers who feel that God is leading you to be married, a Bible study is a great place to look!) One night, the nudge was so strong that I determined to ask her if the Lord was speaking to her about me. He had. We began slowly and cautiously. Neither of us wanted anything in our lives that was not in God’s will. We began to pray. Let me pick up this story at the end of this article. (To be continued…)

Last month we shared about Christ being in each believer, and the fact that each of us is also in Him. One great reference of this fact is in the prayer of our Lord recorded in John 17, especially verses 20-26.

It’s clear that Christ is in me through the Holy Spirit. Jesus does not physically live inside of individual believers. On that last night with His disciples, Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would be with us and in us. (John 14:15-18) He also told them that the Holy Spirit would act as a Counselor to convict, comfort, teach, guide, speak, and glorify Jesus. (John 16:5-15)

I have never heard the voice of God audibly. Have you? How can we recognize His voice, His calling, His leading and guiding? Jesus said that His followers, His sheep, would know Him, be known by Him, and recognize His voice. (John 10: 1-18) How does this happen?

Let me ask you a question: Are you a good listener? Are you attentive when someone is speaking with you, or do sounds just bounce off your ears? Do you listen, or are you just thinking of what you will say next? When you pray, do you talk to God? I hope so, but I also hope that you are quiet and listening! Being a good listener takes practice.

When you pray, practice listening for God’s voice within.

Have you ever thought you heard God’s voice but weren’t sure? What do you do when this happens? How can you know the will of God? Let me give you 4 ways to be sure that you’re being guided by the Holy Spirit.

1. First, there must be a Witness in Your Own Spirit. This comes through prayer.

2. Next there must be the Witness of the Word. Compare this leading with the Word of God, the Bible. Your leading must be in agreement with God’s revealed will for all of us. That is found nowhere else except in the Bible. It is our GPS. If the “leading” contradicts God’s word in any way, it’s not from God. 3. I call this next witness the Witness of the Brethren (and Sisteren;). Share your leading with brothers and sisters that you know. Share your leading. Ask trusted friends to pray about it with you.

4. Finally, there is the Witness of Your Circumstances. You keep walking step by step and listening. Keep moving in and towards the leading. When it works out, you will know you are in God’s will and have heard His voice.

Then, stay on the path. The above 4 witnesses are check points to revisit along the way.

Be humble: Pray, “Lord, You know how dense I can be. Please may Your leading very clear.” As a fully dedicated follower of Christ, a disciple, you know that He will answer that prayer.

Now, back to my story: (1) We had a witness in our own spirits. (2) We both had the habit of daily devotions with the Lord in His Word. Of course, we were praying about our relationship and for God’s will. He began to confirm the witness in our hearts with His word. It was so cool.

We didn’t go hunting for verses to confirm our will. But we kept receiving confirmation, separately, day after day! (3) We sought counsel from friends, including pastors. When once confessing our temptation in the flesh, one pastor said, “What are you waiting for? I’ll marry you right now!” (4) The circumstances worked out. There were obstacles. There was Spirit led hesitation. He drove us to our knees and caused us to commit to Him no matter what happened with us – even if we were to spend the rest of our lives apart. We wanted God’s will above all. One of our prayers was, “Lord, if You can’t use us better together, then don’t let us come together.” So many circumstances worked out! I’ll tell you one. One leading couple in our lives opposed

our marriage because I had been divorced. But when we shared all that I’ve told you here, and more, they blessed our union. The wife served in our wedding.

That was over 42 years ago. We follow the same pattern today. We’re older than many of you, but we still look for these indicators to know the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our lives. Our hearts desire is that God would use us up! Then, take us home.

by: Pastor Jo Bruns (Paul the Apostle writes): ”I thank God that I speak in tongues more than any of you.” 1 Corinthians 14:18 (NLT) I’ll be honest, when I first became a “born-again” believer in Jesus Christ, I would often describe myself as a “Bapticostal.” I don’t say this, however, in a disrespectful manner, to my fellow believers who are members of these Christian denominations. While I attended a Christian church as I was growing up where I’d formally acknowledged Jesus as my Savior through confirmation in my church, I wasn’t exceptionally versed in knowing the scriptures. It wasn’t until my early twenties (with a year and a half of sobriety) that I trusted Jesus as my “Higher Power” and began my journey in studying the Bible and began searching for a church that taught the Word of God in depth. Coming from a more “traditional” church setting where I’d heard more of the church’s traditions than the Gospel message, I initially chose a Baptist church because I knew Baptists were strong in their Biblical teaching. It was through some fellow students from the college I was attending, though, that I was invited to attend a nondenominational church which believed in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. It wasn’t until years later, however, that I began to desire the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for myself.

When I identified myself as a “Bapticostal,” it was because I believed the Bible was the infallible Word of God; that Pentecost was real; and that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit was available to today’s generation, not just the first century church. I just wasn’t so sure it was for me. So, what changed? I began to see the power of the Holy Spirit evident in those who were members of the small group in which I participated. I saw that they were empowered to share the Gospel with others more easily and were clearly strong and

effective prayer intercessors. So, as I revisited the Book of Acts, and through witnessing the gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation, I desired to have what they had to be a more effective witness for the Kingdom of God. Acts 2:17 states, “In the last days, God says, ‘I will pour out My Spirit on all people; your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” The pouring out of God’s Spirit is for everyone. Jesus, Himself, commanded us to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. He, Himself, thought it was so important that He told us to seek God until we receive the promised gift. From the beginning of the Book of Acts, we’re commanded by Jesus to “…not leave Jerusalem (where they were at the time), but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard Me speak about…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Seek God and you shall receive the promised gift of the Holy Spirit which is available to everyone who believes in Jesus.

Like the early church believers, as described in the Book of Acts, we are to “seek” and to “wait before the Lord” and “desire” His promises. “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place,” which some describe as the Upper Room, and “all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” (See Acts 2:1,4).

It is the Holy Spirit who enables you to speak in tongues.

While that may be so, it does require our bending or our surrendering “our tongue” to speak. The first time you “speak in tongues” it just might be a few syllables or a word or two. It may not be fluent. This is “normal.” But, then again, keep in mind, that in the natural, a baby doesn’t begin to speak in full sentences. In the same way, our “spirit language” will grow in time.

Seek God and you shall receive the promised gift of the Holy Spirit which is available to everyone who believes in Jesus.

Some associate speaking in tongues as only a message given in a church setting. While sharing a message in tongues and/or interpreting a message in tongues in the corporate church setting is one way in which the gift of tongues operates, it is also to be spoken in our private prayer time with the Lord, especially when we’re not even sure what to pray.

It also helps us to put aside our own way of thinking in order to pray in a manner more in line with the Word and the will of God. In this way, our “self” and our “motives” are kept in check.

Romans 8:26-27 reminds us of this. “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.

We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit, Himself, intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” We may not be consciously aware of what we are “speaking;” but by “speaking in tongues” we are proclaiming the “mysteries of God” (See 1 Corinthians 14). It’s “our spirit connecting with His Spirit.” It’s like this, there are times where we know we are to intercede on behalf of someone through prayer because they’ve come to our mind, but, we may not know the reason or the specific need, yet the Holy Spirit does. When we yield our tongues by

praying in our “spirit language,” it enables that “spirit to Spirit” connection to the Father. Sometimes, in the process of praying in the Spirit, we might receive a Word of Knowledge or a Word of Wisdom for that individual that can help us in our efforts to intercede on their behalf.

I’ve experienced this on several occasions and regard this as Spirit-directed prayer.

There are many benefits in speaking tongues, which are far too numerous to mention them all. But this one thing I know is that through praying in my spiritual prayer language, I’m building up my faith. It edifies and enables me to become a willing vessel in which the Lord can work through. (See 1 Corinthians 14) It’s a way to connect with my Father on a more intimate level through our “spirit to Spirit” conversations. And not only have I spoken in other tongues, I’ve also “sang in the spirit” at times during times of worship.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves In God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Jude 20-21

I realize that there are many believers who would consider “speaking in tongues” as foreign to their Christian walk (as I once had) or are unsure whether it’s for you or not.

Perhaps, the church you currently attend teaches minimally the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and “speaking in tongues” or not at all. Perhaps this is where you are right now. My prayer is that you will begin to research the scriptures, especially the Book of Acts, and ask the Lord about where to go from here. Some essential scriptures to understanding this are found in Acts1:4, Acts 2:4, Acts 5:32, John 14:16-17, Ephesians 5:8, I Corinthians 14:4, I Corinthians 14:14, Romans 8:26-27 and Jude 20.

Also, keep in mind, that some Christian denominations state that “speaking in tongues” is evidence that you are a “true” Christian and may even insinuate that without the evidence of speaking in tongues you may not be a genuine “born-again” believer. Acts 8: 14-17, however, states: “When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God they sent Peter and John to Samaria. When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.” This same Baptism is available to you today.

You may have noticed in Acts 8, that both Peter and John “laid hands on them” and they received the Holy Spirit. Oftentimes, this does happen. A minister may have an “altar call” for anyone desiring to be baptized in the Holy Spirit; and as the result of going forward and praying, one might receive and begin to “speak in tongues.” But, for others, in the same way salvation can be found in a private place of prayer apart from a church setting, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and “speaking in tongues” can also occur right where you are. This happens more often than you might realize. Kenneth Hagin, as well as others who received the Holy Spirit, were alone at the time. This gift is available to all who desire to receive and to those who have pure motives. I encourage you to go before the Lord earnestly.

For those of you who have received this gift and who may have been slack in “speaking in tongues,” seek renewal and begin to actively pray in the spirit once again. Like with speaking any “new” language, if you neglect “practicing” it, you will begin to “lose” the gains you once had made. An example of this is when you might have taken a “foreign language” class in high school where you began to fluently speak French, Spanish or other foreign language, but through the years of “non-use” it’s become less fluent or barely existent today. In the same way, it’s time to refresh and renew your desire to “speak in your prayer language” once again.

“Lord, I come before You with gratitude for the gift of eternal life and all that it offers: Forgiveness instead of condemnation; life instead of death; hope instead of despair. I want to be used as a prepared vessel to share Your Good News. I desire to be fully equipped and empowered through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and to have and to renew my prayer language of “speaking in other tongues.” Your Word declares that this is available to all believers and for each of us to seek and wait upon You with eager expectation of this gift of the Holy Spirit and its spiritual gifts that flow out of receiving the Holy Spirit. Lord, I seek You and wait for You and for all you have for me, for us, to be an effective witness in Your Kingdom. Empower me, and us, from on High. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”

"And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God" (Rev. 22:1a).

“Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar” (Ezek. 47:1).

There is a River that flows freely from the throne of God— an amazing river of living water. This living water is actually the supernatural water of the Holy Spirit, which runs not only through the Temple in Jerusalem, but also flows through us. (See 1 Cor. 3:16.) This water is the person of the Holy Spirit, available to all who will come and drink from the waters that will never run dry.

Scripture says this River flows from His Temple and also refers to us as His Temple, His very own dwelling place.

And in the same way that Solomon's Temple was "filled with the glory of the Lord" (1 Kings 8:2, 11), you and I can be filled up to overflowing as we rest in the secret place where we are filled with and empowered by the manifest glory of God. In Haggai 2:1 Haggai prophesied about greater glory coming to the Temple, and God intends for that same glory to flow through us.

Just think of it! This same water that brings refreshment and healing to the whole earth should now be flowing through us--His church, His ministers on earth! Even now the

Holy Spirit flows through His willing servants, to minister to the hurting, poured out on the parched, dry landscape of desperate hearts. His living water fills the thirsty and the spiritually destitute. Will you drink deeply in that resting place so He may use you to minister, living out your destiny—your intended purpose for living?

Needy souls come through our church doors every week desperate for more than just "church as usual.” They want proof that God is alive and cares about their deeply personal struggles. They need us to care and show concern for their needs, interceding for answers. God longs to touch those needs, using you and I as living water, like Jesus with skin on to those who are lost around us. He longs for those living waters to flow from the altar and penetrate every heart and life and transform them, comforting them and ministering to every need. Often, we substitute programs, form, religion, entertainment and activities for the supernatural River of God, while we ignore the wounds around us and refuse to let the power of God move in our services, outside of our control. As a result, the Holy Spirit stands outside the church door as an unwelcome guest, and His hands are tied. The time is now to turn this situation around and begin to move as though this our last greatest day, our best opportunity to allow the Holy Spirit to heal and restore us personally, and then to use us to minister in the flow of the Spirit of God. Scripture says that in these last days that River will flow from heaven to the church altars and in the process fill needy souls who desperately need to drink.

How do you know if the River of God is flowing in our church services? Here are some signs.

You become physically fit during the praise and worship time You think of the floor as an old friend Your pastor has a difficult time finishing his message The one-hour church service that used to be boring is now three hours long and seems too short Church services don't start until everyone has crawled out of the prayer room and into the sanctuary When people get up off the floor they are changed from the inside out; they love more, have integrity, and are humble. The fruit of the Spirit operates in their lives.

You have a great desire to take the River to the streets so that everyone can drink from the well that never runs dry.

Your Bible is well-worn The people of God are more spirit-sensitive than man-sensitive Tears flow freely from the pastor to the backslider.

Humility, holiness, repentance, and intimacy are now the focus instead of ego, self-promotion, or mere material blessings.

As believers we are already in the River but we must ask ourselves—how deep are we in? How far will we allow the Holy Spirit to flood our lives?

Are we merely standing at a safe ankle-depth in the River? Have you noticed that children love splashing and playing in wading pools where the water is only ankle deep?

Our early salvation experience is often like that—we got in up to our ankles and splashed around, suddenly exposed to the amazing things God could do. But maybe we’re still in that place, satisfied with surface things when God is calling us to maturity and a deeper commitment to move in the Spirit, to risk losing control and looking foolish when He commands us to. Are we willing to go deeper, resting in the manifest presence of God, mining the depths of His will for us—living out our destinies to move in signs, wonders, miracles and healings, touching people where they are?

Are we knee deep in the River? As we begin to seek God and pray, letting go of our own agendas in exchange for His, we go deeper, ready to stretch ourselves, trusting that He knows what He’s doing in us. And while this is a very good thing He wants even more for us.

Are we waist deep in the River? As the water reaches our waistlines we find that movement is far more difficult. At this place the Holy Spirit wants to change us, urging us to make Him Lord, exposing pride, selfishness or unforgiveness that we’ve locked deep inside and kept out of His reach. At this point many saints will return to ankledeep water because it is far more fun and they have much more freedom to do their own thing. But doing that would be tragic, because God wants so much more for us, and if we don’t do it, who will?

Are we neck deep in the River? It is at this level that many Christians turn back, because moving is hindered by the deep water. It is at this place where the Holy Spirit begins to ask for more sacrifice and we begin to surrender our future by faith, trusting that He is in control and knows the way we take. And while it feels as if you can’t go any deeper, I promise you my friend there is much more!

Are we in over our heads? As we go deeper still we must let go of the firm footing beneath our feet learning that we must swim in order to stay afloat. Think of it this way.

Every river has a strong current that can sweep us away, and it is here that the threat of drowning is very real. In the River of God we must let go of our security and allow the Spirit to take us where He wants us to go. And while we all like to feel as if we’re in control of our lives, are we ever really in control? Ultimately it is the Holy Spirit who has control, and once we know and trust God we can let go of control and abandon ourselves to His tender care and mercy. And while it feels very risky, it is actually the ultimate place of safety for a believer.

Where are you in the River of God today? Ankle-deep? Knee-deep? Waist-deep? Neckdeep? Or way over your head? Ezekiel tells us of this supernatural river, but it’s up to

us to determine where we stand. In the end saturating ourselves in this river brings healing, peace, joy, power, and most of all ushers us into the inner sanctum of the Most High God! The River originates in the heart of God and urges us to go ever deeper. It is up to us how deep we go, depending on how far we are willing to trust that the Holy Spirit knows best for us.

Individually and corporately God is calling his church to receive the River of God, to push aside preconceived ideas, man-made agendas, and man-pleasing activities and entertainment. Will we let Him? Often, we place the Holy Spirit in a box and limit His involvement. And though we may not realize it we are refusing the very answers we and others are so desperate for. If as we say we want to see souls saved and wounds healed, people delivered, and miracles happen we must welcome the Holy Spirit to flow at every opportunity! We are called to release the River of God everywhere we go and let the River flow through us when the Spirit moves.

In his song, "The River is here" Andy Parks sings, "Down the mountain the River flows, and brings refreshing wherever it goes through the valleys and over the fields the River is rushing in the River is here. The River of God sets our feet a-dancing.

The River of God fills our heart with cheer--The River of God fills our mouths with laughter, and we rejoice for the River is here!"

Dear friend, I am thirsty for the real thing--not hype and not a counterfeit but a genuine River of God breaking up the fallow ground and releasing a River that comes straight from His throne.

by: Dr. John Roberts There's something to be said about understanding salvation, and one of the best ways is thru the "Good Shepherd Sermon".

In fact, every pastor in the Body should have this “Sermon” prepared ready in their repertoire of ready sermons at their fingertips to be used at an instance to share. Our understanding salvation should have at this “sermon” in the must-have category. We need to fully wrap our heads around this in order to share to as many as God would bring our way.

If there was a foundation for us all to learn, it should be the “Good Shepherd Sermon”. We can conclude that in order for us to be building up of our spiritual lives, the “Good Shepherd Sermon” is and should be understood as the very foundational building blocks of our spiritual framework. In fact, we can use an example to grasp the salvation of the Believer by likening it unto a day.

The day begins with the morning, endures thru the midday, and satisfies itself into the evening. God has revealed this "Day of the Lord" thru several key verses of Scripture. Let's take a very hard look and study this with the scope and analogy of an actual day.

His Kingdom it begins with Him and His organization of HIS FLOCK. It begins with the message of who He is, and whose is His. The message in the morning recognizes firstly that He IS THE ONLY wTRUE SHEPHERD (Jn. 10:1,2). “I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep."

This means that His Message is a condemnation of all other religions.

The morning scene recognizes that His message is only recognized by the porter (10:3).

"The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to

him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out." This verse is referencing John the Baptist possibly. The morning scene unfolds with the birds singing loudly and clearly.

In verse 3 we can hear how that Jesus (Christ) calls His Sheep by name, too. This is something a stranger would never do.

As the morning continues from verse 3 on thru 6 we can see what we might would see as a transitioning of sorts from morning on into the midday. This is also something that is hard to grasp in these verses when we seek to understand the day as it moves forward.

These verses read, "(3) The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. (4) After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. (5) They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice. (6) Those who heard Jesus use this illustration didn’t understand what he meant,” Verse 6 states that even those who were there around Him didn't grasp this Truth.

However, there is an amazing revelation right here if we would quieten our minds (flesh) and allow His Spirit to instruct us about His day. These verses speak to us regarding the finality and the finished work Jesus came here to do. This speaks to us of the fold of Judaism. You see, Jesus didn't come to abolish or dismiss the Law, but to fulfill it. Hidden in that word fulfill are 2 words, full and fill which describes completion. He led them (His Sheep) out of the fold. God would full+fill the Word (Law in the Old Testament) by revealing the Word in and thru His Flesh. Jesus would complete the task of reconciling the world unto HIMSELF (GOD).

Now we come to the Midday time of the Lord's Day. It is in the midday time that we see how that the Good Shepherd feeds His Flock. We discover how in verse 7 that the clock has turned from morning to midday as it says, "(7) so he explained it to them: “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep." The gate is the midday event of His day. Here in the middle of life the Believer's start to become accustomed to His day as it moves forward. Christ shares His day with each and every Believer.

Take notice how the midday event can be seen in provision for the Believer. In fact, we can identify how this time of the Lord's Day is the time of transition. Our transitioning from being outside God's grace to the inward strength of His Kingdom is revealed in the next verse. It reads, "8 All who came before me[a] were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them." What we were has no equal to what are now. In fact, our ears have at the midday have become adjusted to that of the God's voice. We have been ear-trained to hear His song. However, the midday is full of surprises.

There are 2 very important ideas and thoughts about the midday. The first one is seen in verse 9 where it says, "Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. [b] They will come and go freely and will find good pastures." How powerful a statement is this, that God IS THE DOOR. This denotes that there is no other door, but His. Since then He is the door, and if we decide to believe and trust Him entering in thru Him (The Door), then we SHALL BE SAVED! No questioning, no recusing, and no getting away from His regenerating. Once we make this choice, we are committing ourselves, and God is reconciling the debt. It's done! It is finished. How can anyone escape what God has hold of?

It is also in the midday event and scene that we find at the Door the food necessary for sanctification. Verse 10 says, "The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." God has purpose, too. His purpose as it states right here is for something so full of livelihood, so much so that it becomes abundantly clear that this is living! God is life, and when we have God we have life, and when we have life we have God. However, this is the midday event that reveals that salvation occurred in the morning, but sanctification takes place throughout the midday.

It is here that we are fed in the sanctification. When we are endeavoring sanctification, we are enjoying the setting apart unto righteousness. We are being fed. Sanctification is the lunch time manifestation of the ongoing result of His resolve.

The next part of the Lord's Day is seen in the evening. It is this evening timeframe that the Believer becomes aware of how much the Good Shepherd protects His Flock. In the next verse we find that He makes His declaration saying, " “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep." Case closed wouldn't you agree? He gives His Life for the Sheep, and not anyone else, nor any other religion on earth. It's either God or nothing! It is either life everlasting or death ever ceasing! We also find in the evening portion of His Day that He knows the Sheep and the sheep know Him. In the evening of the soon coming setting of the SUN (SON) that real and true relationship happens and takes place. The following verses reveal this relationship accord between the Redeemer and the Redeemed. "(12) A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don’t belong to him and he isn’t their shepherd. And so, the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock. (13) The hired hand runs away because he’s working only for the money and doesn’t really care about the sheep. (14) “I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, (15) just as my Father knows me and I know the Father.

So, I sacrifice my life for the sheep." (John 10) The evening is full of God's provisioning as we discover how that He gathers His Sheep.

This speaks to us of unity and oneness. If God's Kingdom message could be brought to one word, it would have to be ONENESS. Verse 16 reads, "I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd." God's ultimate motive is unity, unity with Him, and unity one with another. Recall God doesn't wish that any should perish, but all come to repentance. In the evening of His Day we discover that God settles the matter, and our reposition begins to become His position.

In the evening of the Lord's Day we also discover how that He is raised again for the sole purpose of raising His sheep in the later part of it. John 10 17-18 declares, "(17) “The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. (18) No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.” God gives the Believer in the evening time (last days of the Believer's life on earth) a reality check to be satisfied, and to find assurance that when the eyes are closed for the last time that the Child of God fully embraces their life to being that of His. In the end of our day we discover and even desire the beginning of His Day. These two verses hinge the very purpose of God's love for us.

Finally, we recognize that a trade has somewhat taken place. We discover in the evening scene of The Lord's Day that eternal life is His, and His alone, and as such He can give it to whomever He so desires and wishes. God desires to give His sheep eternal life. Verse 28 and 29 reads, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. [d] No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand." Here is where some have caused such division by dividing God as well. Eternal life is important when we are facing down the final sunset of our life here on Earth. However, when we make that crossover we need not be confused and divided because God isn't. The following verse reveals, "The Father and I are one.� We need not be confused.

The Good Shepherd Sermon is the basis of all that we as Believers (Sheep) must have as foundations and understanding salvation. It is here in this message that God Himself (recall that they are ONE) seeks to bring us out of our days into His day! We come to Him in the morning. We endure the heat and the brightness of the afternoon. Then in the end, we rest ourselves in the knowing Who He is and WHOSE we are! Blessings Dr. John Roberts THD

HE PAID FOR IT HERE!

by: Dr. Richard Rundell There is but one God, God in three manifestations. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Bible refers to the Holy Spirit as a person, not an it, not a force in Himself, and not an angel. The Holy Spirit does have a personality for He is one of the manifestations of God. First John 5:7, NKJV, “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: The Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” The Holy Spirit has many functions, but we will deal with just a few.

From where did the Holy Spirit come? Contrary to what some people think, you do not get the Holy Spirit at salvation. At salvation He comes as Savior. The Holy Spirit must come another way. You must seek Him. Jesus said, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26 NKJV).

Yet He is not present in non-believers. “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.” (1 Cor. 2:12-13 ESV).

Our salvation experience relates to the Passover while the power of the Holy Spirit comes from our relationship at Pentecost.

The Holy Spirit reveals God’s will, empowers individual believers and reveals His personal presence. The Spirit of God is depicted as a mighty wind. And He will revitalize his chosen people, empowered by the Messiah.

Acts 1:8 AMP. “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.”

Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”.

John the Baptist proclaimed, “I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." (Mark 1:8 NKJV) The word "baptize" means to be immersed. It comes from the practice of immersing garments in dye. Therefore, Jesus was saying that the disciples would be immersed in the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit fills us and overflows, we begin to be immersed in Him. Our identity is much more however, than a smorgasbord of scriptural truths and claims.

Knowing our true identity by the power of the Holy Spirit is an important key to walking in total freedom in the Kingdom, free from the bondage of trying to "perform" so God will accept us.

Walking each moment by faith in God’s word under the control of the Holy Spirit assures us absolute victory over the desires of our flesh. When we submit to His control and actively walk in Him, He enables us to overcome our flesh and delivers us from the bondage of the Law (Gal 5:18) and causes the fruit of holiness to manifest in our lives (Gal. 5:22-23).

John 16:13, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Proverbs 9:5 reads, "come eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled".

"Bread" speaks of the Word of God while "wine" refers to the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth.

Self or the flesh prefers to walk its own path, erroneously thinking that God’s path is too narrow, with no freedom. But in the Holy Spirit we find true freedom.

Today our flesh or our carnal nature worships the god of materialism. Conversely, if we advance in the things of God, we are led by the Holy Spirit. In the New Covenant the Holy Spirit gives us the power to obey God, a power the law by itself could never give. We follow Jesus by the leading of the Holy Spirit, in faith, integrity, obedience, grace and truth. Such actions will then become as natural to us as breathing. Walking in the Spirit means to obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

The bible enumerates nine beatitudes (Matt. 5:3-11); nine fruit of the spirit and nine gifts of the spirit. The beatitudes relate to the body, the fruit to the soul and the gifts to the spirit.

Paul lists the gifts of the Spirit. “for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same [39] Spirit, “to another the working of

miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues” (1 Cor. 12:8-10).

Ye shall know them by their fruit. (Matt. 7:16). And in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

The first three fruit speak of our attitude toward God. The second three deal with social activity while the last group of three describes principles to guide our Christian conduct.

The Lord desires that we manifest, in our daily life, the fruit of the Spirit as much as the gifts of the Spirit.

The fruit of the Sprit, however, will not manifest from our being until we control our thought life. We must purposely cultivate our thoughts that activate the fruit.

We continually make a conscience effort to execute these godly thoughts. The quality of that spiritual fruit is an accurate barometer of the quality of the Christian life within a person.

Under the new covenant, the Holy Spirit gives us the power we need—the power we receive in the Pentecostal experience (Acts 1:8). It’s not so much that we have the power to perform miracles but that we have the power within us to change our own lives, change our thought patterns and exert power over our fleshly desires.

When the disciples obeyed the command of Jesus, “Follow Me,” God obligated Himself to give them (and us today) the power of the Holy Spirit to perform such a gigantic task, in the midst of persecution and resistance of the people. Remember when Peter saw Jesus walking on the water, he said, “Bid me to come.” Jesus said, “Come.” That command obligated the Holy Spirit to give Peter the will and ability to walk on the water.

The Holy Spirit is our teacher. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you” (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit will reveal to you a fresh meaning of Scriptures you may have read one hundred times.

Paul exhorts us to pray in tongues (in the Spirit). “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind (understanding- AMP) also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also. (1 Cor. 14-14-15). For myself, if I want an answer from God, I will pray a few seconds in the spirit, then pray a few seconds in English, then repeat.

Let us not neglect to cultivate the Holy Spirit, for He will assure us of His presence as He guides us in our daily tasks. Moreover, He will give us His peace in the midst of our circumstances (John 14:27).

" On the day of Pentecost all believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like a roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability."

Acts 2:1-4 I am going to be up front with all my readers. I am not blessed with tongues, yet. I have longed to have this oh so special gift from our Lord. Sometimes in my alone time with the Lord, you can hear me trying to push any type of noise out of my mouth.

Picture it will you, sitting there in my prayer chair; mouth open wide straining to have some kind of language come out. I look ridiculous, and probably sound like a ruptured duck, but I know that my Lord is smiling down at me and waiting for that perfect timing of His. One of these days the spirit of praying in tongues is going to explode out from my mouth and you won't be able to stop me.

Let me explain for those that do not know what the spirit of praying in tongues is or how it works. First, you have to be baptized in the Holy Spirit in order to have the spirit of tongues. You accomplish this by asking God for it. If you haven't done this and you need some help just repeat this prayer out loud. "Father God, I pray to You now, asking You to baptize me in Your Holy Spirit. Let the gift of tongues be my confirmation. I know that if I ask for this it will be given unto me. I wholeheartedly believe that Your word is the truth.

Thank You, Father, for this baptism in the Holy Spirit and the gift of praying in tongues.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen." If you just prayed this prayer aloud you just received the Holy Spirit in you. Now to wait for the tongues to come. Practice some noises in your prayer time with God. Once you receive the spirit of praying in tongues you will be able to pray Gods will.

Romans 8:26-27 "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will." This allows the mind to step aside and let the spirit in you take over and be with God in an intimate relationship. Your flesh is kept out of the way, as to not allow any selfish ways into your prayers to God. Praying in tongues strengthens yourself and assists you in worship. Being in the Holy Spirits presence daily affects the way you live.

Praying in Tongues also keeps you in faith as in Jude 1:20-21 says, "But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and wait the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourself safe in God's Love." Leaning on God and trusting Him each step of the way keeps you in faith.

Isaiah 28:11 "So now God will have to speak to people through foreign oppressors who speak a strange language!" If you continue with Isaiah 28:12 you see that praying in tongues will restore you. God has told his people, “Here is a place of rest; let the weary rest here. This is a place of quiet rest."

Being about to renew yourself makes you able to take the next step that God has for you to do. I will leave you with Mark 16:17, “these miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.”

By: Author/Speaker Larry Thompson When I first came to Florida, I had already been walking as a Christian believer for a little over a year. On a Friday night, a friend and I left the Navy base to walk about a mile to a coffeehouse meeting, an open house that provided impromptu fellowship and worship. This would be the first time I had attended this particular one. I found it was refreshing to connect with other believers, fellowship with them, or simply enjoy the worship songs. Something different happened each night.

On this particular evening, it was kind of quiet. I was standing in the living room, looking at the titles of some of the books on the shelf; however, I did not remove any to peruse them. Another believer walked up to me and spoke to me with an amazing accuracy. “You’d like to know more about the Holy Spirit, wouldn’t you?” he said. I was astonished at his question because that was exactly what I had been thinking about—even before I stood by the bookcase.

He added, “Another brother-in-Christ and I could pray with you to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We could go to one of the back rooms to pray there.”

I simply replied, “Yes, I would like that.”

Only the Holy Spirit would have known my heart; only He would have known what I was thinking. What witnessed to my spirit was the Holy Spirit’s speaking through this believer.

They took time to share with me numerous Scriptures, which confirmed what the Holy Spirit wanted to reveal and do in my life. After they read each individual verse, they told me that they would pray with me to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They prayed first, then I prayed, but I did not speak in tongues. (I have coined that experience to be a dry start.)

However, these two believers were patient and gentle with me. They told me that they would pray in English first, and then they would pray in their heavenly language (their word for praying in tongues). They also encouraged me to pray in tongues. They prayed, I prayed, and another dry start.

This time they interjected this thought: “Larry, in the same way that you have trusted Jesus to save you, trust Him now to baptize you in the Holy Spirit.”

What happened next is so profound that I consider the experience worthwhile to share the testimony. “...the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7; NKJV). They said, “When all of us pray this time, we will be praying in our heavenly language—not in English at all.” Perfectly like a choir in unison, we all began singing on key in the Spirit. While we are singing, the Holy Spirit began communicating to me on three different levels of communication.

I was aware that we were all singing something that I had never sang before—in this new heavenly language. The Holy Spirit had revealed to me that, for the very first time in my life, I was worshipping God. And He had taken me up in the spirit to reveal thousands of people all worshipping God. All of this had taken place in that back room; however, when He had opened my eyes to see all of these other worshippers, it was as though He had taken me to a place in some other country where all of these people worshipping the Father had gathered. I could see these worshippers and hear all of their voices. I was still singing in the Spirit and was totally in awe.

The two, who had invited me to pray, described my experience as though I were drunk in the Spirit. That is exactly how I felt, but it was a reality, experiencing the Holy Spirit activating this new life in me. I could only feel His presence all through me. Nothing else mattered. Tasting how wonderful this experience of mine had been is the exact place He wants to bring every believer. Jesus spoke that He could do nothing apart from the Father—the Father is in Him, and He is in the Father. This is the first initial act in the believer’s stepping into Him by the transforming life of the Holy Spirit.

What He reveals is very important to keep fresh and alive in our thinking. It needs to become a part of the very core of who we are. How we understand and perceive all that He is teaching concerning His glory depends on the fresh word that becomes fused to our spirits. These two believers encouraged me to continue praying in my new heavenly language and to continue thanking the Father often. This verse in Hebrews states it: “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13:15 NKJV).

Now, my friend, it is your turn. If you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, then carefully review each of the following Scriptures. My prayer is already coupled with yours: that you will enter and enjoy the fullness of the Holy Spirit in your life. Each person’s experience is uniquely his own and not necessarily a duplicate of what another has experienced—just as each person’s salvation experience is unlike anyone else’s. All of the snowflakes are a reminder to us that not one of them is alike. Each one is a unique handiwork designed by the Father.

I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, “Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit” (John 1:33 NKJV).

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11 NKJV).

John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire” (Luke 3:16 NKJV).

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! (Luke 11:13 NKJV).

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained” (John 20:21-23 NKJV).

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now” (Acts 1:4, 5 NKJV).

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NKJV).

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call” (Acts 2:38, 39 NKJV).

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18 NKJV).

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life (Jude 1:20, 21 NKJV).

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God (Romans 8:26, 27 NKJV).

For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries (I Corinthians 14:2 NKJV).

Nanor “17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.� (2 Corinthians 3:17-18, ESV) Who is Holy Spirit? The scripture has never denied since Genesis that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Living God. The best place to know and understand who The Holy Spirit is will be found in the Holy Bible, comprised of the Jewish Old Testament and the Christian New Testament. The Bible reveals the existence of God who is acknowledged as the Supreme Owner, Founder and Creator of the current Earth which we see ourselves in and includes the Heavens which includes the sun, the moon, stars, clouds and all the other luminaries that are recognized in time and space.

The Bible teaches that God created all the Heavens and the Earth including everything in them, in just six days by the power of His word; Who is acknowledged as The Person, Jesus Christ as noted in the Gospel of John 1:14 of the New Testament.

The book of Hebrews 11:3 states that by faith we understand that God was able to frame the whole world by His word. In the Gospel according to John, we are taught by the word of God that God is a Spirit and those who worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. That is how we understand the way God accomplished His creation in six days.

Through the teachings of the Bible, we understand that God created man according to His image and after His likeness. Man was created from the dust of the ground and man became a living soul after God had breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Through

this, we agree with the New Testament teachings of the Apostle Paul that man is made of spirit, soul, and body.

Just as the Scripture said in the book of Genesis 2:7, God breathed into man the breath of life and man became a living soul. We also understand that the breath of God is the Holy Spirit of God. The breath of God is the life of God. The breath of God is God himself. This is what made man a living soul. That means that if that breath is taken away from man, he will cease to exist.

We also understand from Genesis that God told man to eat of every tree in the Garden He had created for him, but not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God told him that he will die on the day he eats from that tree. In the same way, God created a woman to help the first man He created.

The Bible teaches that this couple disobeyed God and ate from the tree God which asked them not to eat from. As a result, they were separated from the life of God; i.e., Man became a soul without the breath of life of God. That does not mean that man was naturally dead, no. Man was naturally alive but spiritually disconnected from God. (Ephesians 2:1-2, John 5:25, John 20:22) God cursed them together with a serpent who aided them in their rebellion. Ever since that time man was separated from the very life that God gave him; yet, God loved man and continued to speak to him through His Holy Spirit as by very selected people who the Bible refers to as prophets. These prophets had the Spirit of God and were able to communicate the mind of God to the people whom God created throughout the face of the earth. Firstly, through a select group who are called, Israelites. Then through Jesus Christ His Son, who was also a Jew to everyone.

The books of Hebrews and 2 Peter in the New Testament says something interesting about prophets, their prophecies, the Holy Spirit and the Son of God, which is Jesus Christ. 1) Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, and 2) in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed the heir of all things, through whom also He created the world. (Hebrews 1:1-2, ESV) “16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,” 18 we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. 19 And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:16-21, ESV) Many questions have risen as to how God, who is the Holy Spirit, even gave birth to a Son, who is acknowledged in human flesh as Jesus Christ. But the Bible was not so silent about how God miraculously visited Mary in a dream. She was not a prophet, but a virgin

through which God’s angel Gabriel, spoke the word of God to Mary that she will conceive, by the Holy Spirit and bring forth a Son, whose name will be Jesus and He will save His people from their sin.

That was the plan of God for taking away sin from the human race, in order to reconcile man back to Himself, just like the way He used His word to create the whole visible world in six days. And when Jesus Christ, the Son of God was thirty-three and one-half years old, the Bible tells of how He was crucified on a cross for an offense He had not committed.

But He was raised from death, three days later, in His resurrection.

Forty days after His resurrection, the Bible tells of how He ascended to heaven in the presence of His very disciples and the people of Galilee who were present on that spot.

And at that same time, two men who stood there in white clothing, spoke to them saying that this same Jesus whom they see Him go into heaven, will come in the same manner they saw Him go.

Ten days after His ascension into the heavens, the very breath of God, which was taken away from man because of his rebellion, was restored back to him with such a life-giving Spirit, not given to a selected group of persons but to all persons in humanity who believes in Him and accept His Lordship over their lives.

First, through the early Apostles who followed Jesus Christ throughout His three and onehalf years in reconciliation through their teachings and letters which had been acknowledged as the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And then through those who believed in their messages who are acknowledged as saints.

“18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20, ESV) “15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18, ESV) “16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: 17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. 19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; 20 the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. 21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” (Acts 2:16-21, ESV)

The language of the New man is alive, and it bubbles up from within. The dead, archaic terms of the sin are gone!

It's time to agree with God's chosen speech.

Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also. 1 Cor. 14:15 Amplified Bible.

The language of the new man is Spirit and Life. The Word said, “It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it].

The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.” John 6:63 Amplified.

You have said things like, “I’m not hearing from God,” when all the while He is speaking this new language by the Holy Spirit clearly to you. Instead, your habit of using the old dead verbiage of guilt and shame has kept you in a state of confusion. God's will is not to confuse His sons and daughters. He wants your talks to be peaceful and full of hope. He wants intimacy with you.

If you praise him in the private language of tongues, God understands you but no one else does, for you are sharing intimacies just between you and him. 1 Cor. 14:2 Message Bible

There is only one type of conversation between you and the Holy Spirit. Intimate. He will not respond to you degrading and belittling yourself. That's dead talk. He will not agree when you tell him that you are worthless. That kind of self-defamation is not in God's Living vocabulary. You can try to remind Him of all your mistakes and faults, but the only response will be, "What are you talking about, I don't remember that."

In the book, "Saving Languages" the author says that an extinct language is a language that no longer has any speakers, especially if it has no living descendants. In contrast, Oxford Dictionary says defines, a dead language as "one that is no longer the native language of any community", even if it is still in use.

You are dead to sin and alive to God. The extinct language of death has no living descendants, especially not you! You are a New Creation in Christ Jesus. You are now a part of a new community that speaks Life. The old language of the dead man is no longer your native tongue.

When you speak the same tongue as God, you will cease from bringing up old problems, things from your past, and words of death. His language of the Holy Spirit is teeming with a future and a hope. Why would He give direction in a dead language that you don't understand? Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3) KJV. He decided that you have been made the Righteousness of God in Christ. The terms are right. You are acceptable in His sight. Agree with Him and speak the new tongue.

Every expression of the Spirit is given to bring that which God accomplished in Christ into full focus. 1 Cor. 12:7 Mirror Bible You have the very expression of the Holy Spirit on the inside. It is not difficult to hear this.

You are quickened by Holy Spirit to pick up on Words of Life.

It is the Spirit that quickens the poetry of life - the flesh (muscle and willpower) is useless without the spirit. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and life! I communicate from a different dimension and perspective giving voice and substance to every prophetic shadow and purpose. John 6:63 Mirror Bible.

God is speaking to you in these new terms.

He has revealed every hidden thing IN Christ and redefined your purpose. Now, go today and enjoy your new way of communicating!
