AMERICA, “The land of the free and the home of the brave.” These famous words by Francis Scott Key made the song “The Star Spangled Banner” America’s choice as our country’s National Anthem ever since 1931. Wherever you see a “red star” in this issue, hold down the CTRL and click on it to listen to something about America. The one above happens to be “The Star Spangled Banner,” our National Anthem by Sandi Patty during Liberty Weekend of 1986. It is the LONG version that is not always heard. Enjoy!

By: Dr. Bill Hanshew Ephesians 1:19 says, “And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” This is Paul’s prayer written to the believers at Ephesus about God giving them the spirit of wisdom and revelation, which is gained through the knowledge of the Lord Jesus and transcends time and still finds us today. When Paul says, “The exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,” we find that for our English word, “exceeding” is actually the Greek word, “huperballo” and is pronounced, hoop-er-bal'-lo. It comes from a compound word meaning to throw beyond the usual mark, that is, (figuratively) to surpass (only active participle supereminent): - exceeding, excel, pass. As we look at this definition very carefully, we see that what Paul is really talking about could be described as “unlimited.” God wants you to experience unlimited faith in every area of life. Unlimited faith is a belief system that is unhindered by the religious ideology of our day and time. Unlimited faith also believes that God will do exactly what His Word says He will do. And believing God is based on the commitment to not be moved no matter what you see, hear or experience.
We should never allow our experiences to determine whether or not the Word of God is true. The Word of God is true simply because God said it. In Paul’s prayer, he says in verses 15-18, “15Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” Paul seemed to find an inspiration to write these words because of the faith the Ephesian believers. I know this; Faith is contagious. When we believe what God said, openly, others are inspired. However, Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes {developed or matured} by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” In other words, faith matures as you hear and hear and hear what God has to say. And then you are to believe or put your faith in what He says.
In Matthew 17:20-21 Jesus said to His disciples when they questioned why they could not cast the demon out of the child, “20Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Now if nothing becomes impossible for you, simply by having faith or believing what Jesus says, then I would call that “Faith Unlimited.”
Jesus states clearly that their unbelief was the problem; not fasting and praying. Did you know that the devil is not afraid of how much you fast and pray? Did you know that all of the demons who serve satan are not afraid of how much you fast and pray? But what does make them nervous is when you choose to believe God no matter what. And since fasting and praying will help rid you of unbelief, then believers should fast and pray. Romans 12:3 says, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” Once again Paul is speaking here and says that God has gifted him with something called “a measure of faith.” This measure of faith is something that God places in each
one. Even many Old Covenant saints were healed because of their faith. Now, if your faith can be limited only by what God has said, then shouldn’t you believe God’s Word even in the face of any adversity that may come? That’s called unlimited faith. Remember that Paul said, “and what is the exceeding {to throw beyond the usual mark, to surpass, or to simply experience the unlimited} greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” Then Paul finishes in Ephesians 1:20-23 and says, “20Which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but
also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Keep in mind that Jesus is the head of the church, and we are His body. Therefore, everything that has been placed in Jesus has also been given to the church. And everything that has been done in Jesus is also done in us or for us. This unlimited faith is the same faith that God used when He said in Genesis 1:3, “Let there be light”; and there was light” God wants us to imitate Him in both word and deed. Will you believe in your heart and speak or declare with your mouth everything God has said about you? Jesus once said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” (Luke 4:4). Use your faith until you experience “Faith Unlimited!”… Think about it!

Does America Have A Godly Heritage? By: Dan Corse Does America have a godly heritage? Secularists, those who desire that matters of public education and matters of civil policy should be conducted void of a religious element, often vehemently tell us no. Clearly, their view is self-serving related to their goals and ambitions. Thus, our goal, in a manner restrained by the space available to us, is to support the assertion that America does have a godly heritage. Ultimately, in doing so we shall reveal that the assertion of secularists that America does not have a godly heritage is blatantly false, as demonstrated by: 1. Quotes from the Founding Fathers and a discussion of those quotes. 2. A brief discussion of “The First Amendment,” which states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Let us begin by considering “Washington’s Prayer for the United States of America” as it as it “appears on a plaque in St. Paul’s Chapel in New York City as well as in Pohick Church, Fairfax County, Virginia, where Washington was a vestryman from 1762 to 1784”:
Almighty God; we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou Wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the field. And finally, that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose to us all to do justice, to love Mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of Mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation.
Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
It should be noted that George Washington, our first President, prayed to God in the name of Jesus Christ, a fact that clearly contradicts the assertion made by some that our Founding Fathers were deists, not Christians. Let us remember too in examining this prayer that Washington clearly sought God to engage in the affairs of the nation, a desire in direct opposition to that of secularists. He prayed that the citizens of this nation would humbly imitate God, surely not the prayer of one desiring to keep God out of the affairs of the nation or its citizens. Elsewhere, John Adams, our second President, writes in a letter to Thomas Jefferson, “I have examined all religions, as well as my narrow sphere, my straightened means, and my busy life would allow; and the result is that the Bible is the best book in the world. It contains more philosophy than all the libraries I have seen.” The Bible that Adams spoke so highly of stands as the bedrock of our nation’s Judeo-Christian heritage, a book too that does not embrace the pluralistic view that all spiritual paths lead to God or are equally relevant, as relativists often seek to assert. Even Thomas Jefferson, sometimes noted, along with Benjamin Franklin, as the least spiritual of our Founding Fathers, did not embrace the antiChristian bias some seek to attribute to him, writing in a letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush, a noted Christian, “My views…are the result of a life of inquiry and reflection, and very different from the anti-Christian system imputed to me by those who know nothing of my opinions. To the corruptions of Christianity I am, indeed, opposed; but not to the genuine precepts of Jesus Himself. I am a Christian in the only sense in which He wished any one to be; sincerely attached to His doctrines in preference to all others…” Like sincere Christians today, Jefferson had issues with corruptions found in Christianity related to teachings and practices, but, acknowledging that, he then fully asserted his wholehearted support for pure Christianity and its doctrines as demonstrated by Christ Himself.
Dan Corse
Continuing with Jefferson, let us move now to then topic of the First Amendment. The Danbury (Connecticut) Baptist Association had great concerns related to their view that freedom of religion was an inalienable right given by God, not a government-granted right, as they feared some civil documents suggested. Jefferson responded, assuring them that there was a wall of separation between government and religion, not the view that secularists tout today, a wall keeping religion out of the political and civil arena, but one keeping the government out of religion, one allowing religion freedom of access in the civil and public arena. Jefferson sought to alleviate the fears of the Danbury Baptists by assuring them that the “wall of separation” was not intended to limit public religious expressions but instead was intended to provide protection against incursions by the government into those expressions, public or private. He stated, “Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and His God,…I contemplated with sovereign reference that the act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,’ thus building a wall of separation between the Church and State.” The separation of church and state as outlined by Jefferson, protecting religion from incursions into its affairs by the government, whether in public or private matters, was the historical practice in our nation for a lengthy period of time, as demonstrated by “Reynolds v. United States” in 1878, a case in which the Supreme Court supported Jefferson’s view that the government was not to impede religious expression. Later cases supported this view; however in 1947 things began to change. In 1947’s “Everson v. Board of Education” the Supreme Court for the first time interpreted the “separation” clause in a manner allowing the federal government to interfere with religious expression, supporting the removal of religious expressions from the public arena. Further court cases continued eroding our First Amendment rights related to religion by supporting a historically inaccurate view of the “separation” clause, as originally defined in Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptists. “Engel v. Vitale” (1962) determined that religious expressions must be kept separate from the public arena. “Stone v. Graham” ruled that students could not even
voluntarily see a copy of the Ten Commandments. “Abington v. Schempp” (1963) reversed over two hundred years of precedent and earlier court rulings, concluding that the Bible and its teachings would no longer be allowed in public education. Secularists, who are blatantly ignorant of and/or desire to ignore the godly heritage of American and emboldened by Supreme Court decisions not based on historical accuracy or precedent, continue to call for the complete removal of religion from the public arena. However, as reflected in the quotes of a few of our Founding Fathers and a discussion of Jefferson’s response to the Danbury Baptists, we can see that those Founding Fathers did not embrace the view of modern secularists, that religious influence should be completely removed from the public arena, especially in the arenas of public education and civil policy. The words and actions of the Founding Fathers we considered are indicative of the godly heritage of our nation. Yet, so many of the history books now used in our public schools are void of an accurate religious history of our nation, offering instead “revisionist’ views not reflecting our actual godly heritage, but offering “revised” versions of history that generally support the secularist view. Our nation’s birth perhaps in mind as is so often true on each Fourth of July and having briefly considered support for the reality of our nation’s godly heritage in mind, where do we go from here? First, let us never be amiss in thanking those who have served in ensuring our freedom from the time of the Revolutionary War to the present as members of our military. Whether we all agree or not on the basis for why those conflicts were fought, those who fought in those conflicts should by their sacrifices, on so many levels, including the supreme sacrifice, that of giving one’s life, have earned what should be our open and enduring respect and thankfulness. Secondly, our brief foray into the historical support for the godly heritage of our nation complete, may we endeavor to learn more about that history, and, in knowing that history, may we stand for, vote for, and live in a manner that reflects our godly heritage.

By: Pastor Richard Hanshew In this lesson we will be discussing the "Grace of God." I've heard much talk about grace as being called "greasy grace" or a "license to sin". As I've heard people use these words or sayings, in an attempt to describe God's Grace I've felt the need to draw attention to scripture as to better understand the Gospel (too good to be true news) of God's Grace (God's unmerited favor). Before we go any further, let us look at a few scriptures to lay some foundation of what we will be talking about. Acts 20:24 (AMP) says, “But none of these things move me; neither do I esteem my life dear to myself, if only I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have obtained from [which was entrusted to me by] the Lord Jesus, faithful to attest to the good news (Gospel) of God’s Grace (His unmerited favor, spiritual blessing, and mercy).” Here in Acts 20:24, we see the Apostle Paul speaking to the Elders of Ephesus on his way to Rome. As Paul speaks with them, he refers to the “Gospel of the Grace of God.” Acts 20:24 (NKJV) says, “The ministry which I received from
the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” In both of these translations in Acts 20:24, we find the expression, “the Gospel of the Grace of God.” Paul refers to God’s grace as “THE GOSPEL” or the “Good News” or as some has expressed it as “too good to be true news.” In order for us to discuss this, we need to understand that we are talking about GOOD NEWS! What could be good about something that appeared to be based on “OUR” works, rather than the work completed by Jesus Christ. I want you to see that what we are talking about is not of YOUR works, but it is based on what Jesus has already done. Many see this as “greasy grace,” meaning that you can literally live anyway you want to, with no accountability for your actions; but this is a false understanding of God’s Grace. As Joseph Prince would say, “If you are living like you can sin without consequence, you are not living in Grace!” Let us look further into scripture and see if we can shed
Richard Hanshew some light on what the Word says about God’s Grace. John 1:16 & 17 (NKJV) says, “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Robert Jamieson, A.R. Fausset, and David Brown Commentary (V.16) of his fullness—of “grace and truth,” resuming the thread of John 1:14 grace for grace—that is, grace upon grace (so all the best interpreters), in successive communications and
larger measures, as each was able to take it in. Observe the word “truth is dropped here. “Grace” being the chosen New Testament word for the whole fullness of the new covenant, all that dwells in Christ for men. As we see from reading John 1:16 & 17 Jamieson-FaussetBrown commentaries on this setting of scripture, we find that they refer to “Grace as being the chosen New Testament word for the WHOLE fullness of the New Covenant, ALL that DWELLS IN CHRIST FOR MEN. Laying this foundation for God’s Grace, it is vital to understanding what it is that we are receiving from God through the complete or fullness of what came through Jesus for ALL MAN. So far we have looked at the Apostle Paul as he spoke about the Gospel of Grace of God, and John as he talked about Grace upon Grace that came through Jesus Christ. In fact, if you were to look at the middle of Acts 20:24, we would see that Paul referred to this being received from (entrusted to him) by Jesus Christ. What we should be seeing thus far is that the “Grace of God” is not something to be taken lightly. As expressed by JamiesonFausset-Brown, Grace is then explained as the “WHOLE FULLNESS and ALL that dwells in Christ for men.” Too often we are still looking at works that prove our faith rather than our faith (trusting) in what Jesus did for us as the FINISHED WORK. Many times the scripture used in modern Christianity is: James
2:17, “So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).” It is used and interpreted to say that if we are not working or producing works we must not have faith. But let us look again at another passage. Romans 12:3 (KJV) says, “For I say through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3 (CJB) says, “For I am telling every single one of you, through the grace that has been given to me, not to have exaggerated ideas about your own importance. Instead, develop a sober estimate of yourself based on the standard which God has given to each of you, namely, trust.” Here, Paul states we have all received “THE” measure of Faith or “THE STANDARD.” I want you to see and understand that when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, God imparts in you “THE MEASURE or THE STANDARD.” It is vital that we are conscious and that we understand the more we come to know God, the more our trusting
(faith) in Him will PRODUCE works. Romans 10:17 (CJB says), “So trust comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through a word proclaimed about the Messiah.” It is our “Faith” or “Trusting” in whom Jesus Christ is and ALL that was done through His finished work on the Cross, God’s GRACE toward man that frees us to live right. See, the Bible says that we ARE the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (AMP) says, “For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. God’s Grace is FREE and releases us to live freely as HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS even though we have done nothing to earn it. It is what Jesus Christ did on our behalf that causes us to be righteous when we
confess and receive Him as Lord and Savior. Romans 5:15 & 16 (AMP), 15 But God’s free gift is not at all to be compared to the trespass [His grace is out of all proportion to the fall of man]. For if many died through one man’s falling away (his lapse, his offense), much more profusely did God’s grace and the free gift [that comes] through the undeserved favor of the one Man Jesus Christ abound and overflow to and for [the benefit of] many. 16Nor is the free gift at all to be compared to the effect of that one [man’s] sin. For the sentence [following the trespass] of one [man] brought condemnation, whereas the free gift [following] many transgressions brings justification (an act of righteousness).
Our confession of Faith or trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior frees us to receive ALL that Jesus did. We can receive God’s unearned, unmerited favor, His FREE gift today! As we hear His Word, coming to know who He is, and who we are in Him, we will grow in the knowledge of who WE are and works will be produced from our knowing who we are. Don’t be afraid of this “TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, UNEARNED, UNMERITED FAVOR” that came through Jesus Christ for you and me. Understand that as you come to know and understand who you are through Christ, you will be forever changed. Grace is not this “greasy grace” that frees man from having to grow and shun sin, but on the contrary, Grace FREES you from the
BONDAGE of sin. Grace frees you to grow as a Child of God so that you are not being constantly overcome with the lies of satan telling you that you are not good enough and that your salvation is based on you being a “SUPER”Christian. We are not under the Law or the demand of following the rules, or we will be damned to hell. You are FREED by God’s GRACE to live VICTORIOUS through Jesus Christ YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR!!! YOU ARE BLESSED!!!

But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. (James 1:22, NLT) This morning, Gracie, my seven year was acting like a seven year old. Mikea and I were cleaning up the breakfast dishes while Gracie was spinning around the living room bumping into chairs and tables, repeating, "I can't see! I can't see!" The reason she couldn't see was because she had pulled her own shirt up over her head. Mikea (my nine year old) kept repeating, "Take your shirt off your head, uncover your eyes and you will be able to see." I ignored her, knowing, once she was finished she would remove the covering she placed on her own eyes.
I thought, "Wow! That was me for so many years." Walking around, bumping into things, covering my own eyes from God's Truth. Some came alongside me trying to help, telling me to just take my selfimposed covering off my eyes. Others ignored me, knowing once I was ready to make changes, I would. I thank God for calling me out of darkness into His marvelous Light! I also thank God for giving me wisdom to stop blinding myself. I thank God I no longer wallow in offense, living in rebellion against His life giving Word, and I thank
Key Tov Blog Bible Studies from the Big Island
Him for showing me daily how to refuse darkness and walk in Light. Thank God for the wisdom to finally "take my shirt off my head" so I could not only hear but do and stop fooling myself! When God's Word says I'm more than a conqueror, I will walk out my days believing and speaking, I am more than a conqueror walking by faith not by sight. Abundant life is listening to His Word AND doing what it says. Living according to everything, not just some things, God's Word declares for us!
By: Kim Miller Faith is a very important subject! The Bible says in Romans 1:17 that the just shall live by faith. If we are to live by faith, we must know how to operate in it. Faith is a lifestyle. It is to be our lifestyle. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith, put simply is believing that God told the truth. This is never based upon what we see, feel, or hear. It is not based upon anything in the natural realm. It's based upon the integrity of our supernatural Father God, who loves us. We must know His word, or we will not be able to put our trust in Him. We won't know what He provided for us, and promised us, if we don't know what His word says. We must know His character, too, if we are going to be able to trust Him. We must know that He is good, loves us, and is ready and willing to uphold His word in our lives. Faith is now, not when we see the answer. Romans 4:17 says that God calls those things that do not exist as though they did. We are to operate in the God kind of faith and be imitators of Him. God gave
Abram the name "Abraham", which means, "Father of many nations," long before he had any children. Faith sees beyond what is seen in the natural realm, calls it into being, and then what it unseen manifests and is then seen in the natural realm. Too many people get it backwards. They believe after something is seen with their physical eyes. Faith sees with spiritual eyes. Faith sees beyond what is seen physically. Throughout the years, I've heard many people say, "I just don't have enough faith for the situation that I am facing." Romans 12:3 says that God has given us all a measure of faith. It's in us! We have to learn how to use it. 2 Peter 1:3 says, "As His divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue." You see, we are equipped! Not everyone will walk in what Jesus has done for them. As we see from this scripture, He's given us what we need but we must have the knowledge of Him. That's not
Kim Miller a casual knowing. That's being intimately acquainted with God and His word. This takes a decision and work on our part. We can go as far in God as we want to go. He isn't withholding anything from us. My husband, Gary and I were talking about faith and he said, "You know, we have the same faith it took to raise Jesus from the dead!" Wow, think about all that power that is available to us! We must see ourselves as faith people because that's who we are! When a physical attack of sickness comes upon some believers, they struggle so hard to get their faith up to believe for healing. We as
believers should approach sickness from the standpoint of understanding that we aren't sick trying to get healed, but we are healed already because of what Jesus did in His death and resurrection. 1 Peter 2:24 says, "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness- by whose stripes you WERE healed. It doesn't say," will be", it says, "You WERE healed!" One of the questions that I must answer in this article is "how do we live on the outside the faith that is on the inside of us?" Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Hearing God's word at church isn't enough. We must make God's word a priority in our lives. Colossians 3:16 says that God's word is to dwell in us richly. It must be a part of
us. Joshua 1:8 says, "This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success." We make God's word part of us by meditating it, speaking it, and doing it. God has given us His success plan for our lives right here in this scripture. Proverbs 4:20-22 says, "My son give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh." We must give attention, serious attention to His word. It's life to us! We read what Jesus said about how to stand strong and remain in faith in
Matthew 7:24. He said, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock." He went on to say in verses 26-27 that the person who doesn't build their house on the rock is foolish and their house will not stand in adversity. We must be doers of God's word, not hears only in order to operate in faith. Galatians 5:6 says that faith works by love. Our faith won't work, if we are not in love with God and people. Jesus said that if we love Him, we'll obey Him. That means that we'll be doers of God's word. We are commanded to love one another. Sadly, many in the body of Christ don't take that seriously, but not walking in love will cause our faith to not work.
We must cast down every imagination and consider false every thought that is contrary to God's word, as stated in 2 Corinthians 104:5. We must also only speak God's word and not what we see and feel in the natural realm. We read in the book of Genesis that God created the world by His word. That's how it was framed. We create our world by our word. The Bible says that the word of faith is in our hearts and mouths; it must be in both places. We create our world, our lives with words. We can create the
abundant life that Jesus already provided by speaking His word over our lives, or we can create what the devil wants for us. Our words can cause us to be robbed of what is already ours. We must mix God's word with faith. Hebrews 4:2 says, "For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them, but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it." We must remain in faith until we see the manifestation of what we are believing for. The devil tries to wear out the saints, but we must keep our confidence in God, no
matter how long we've been standing on His word. It is impossible for Him to lie! God's word says that we are to continue to have confidence in God to the end. What is your "end" when it comes to faith? It's when you see the manifestation of what your are believing for. It's not over until then!
Don't give up!

Healing was paid for

“But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him: and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38 I want to thank Pastor Faye for the opportunity to share my testimony and give honor and glory to the Majestic and Holy One Who sits upon the throne of the Universe. In Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). He upholds all things by the Word of His power (Heb. 1:3). The Heavens
are His throne and the earth is His footstool (Acts 7:49). He is so great the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain Him (2 Chron. 2:6), yet He is so personal He lives within you and me! It was the summer of 1985, and I had been diagnosed with kidney disease. I was not aware that my kidneys were deformed from birth. To make matters worse, my urethra tube was protruding into one of my kidneys and not draining my kidney properly. The infection was literally rotting out my kidney. It was not unusual for me to go to the restroom and urinate blood. I realize these are gross details, but the facts are the facts. I was in a horribly desperate situation. My renown Urologist told me I would need two surgeries: the first one on one kidney one summer, and if that surgery went well, I was to then have another surgery on the other kidney the next summer. I was told I could very
well be on a dialysis machine by the age of thirty. I was raised in a classical Pentecostal pastor’s home. My father, who passed away the same year I was diagnosed, had been in denominational leadership all my life. It’s what I had always known. I had seen miraculous things happen. The Spirit of God was free to move in our services. Though I have long moved on from that particular denomination, I am grateful for the godly heritage I have. It was in one of those services where the Spirit of God was moving that my life was forever changed. One Sunday morning, there was a long prayer line, and God was moving in our midst. I am also a musician and was on the platform playing the bass guitar. An elderly lady, an old Pentecostal preacher, came forward on her walker and pointed to me and wanted me to come down to the prayer line. I saw her but was thinking, “There is NO WAY I’m going
down there!” So I turned my head and pretended I didn’t see her (have a little mercy on me ok? lol). After church, I saw her headed my way. I knew I couldn’t run forever so I decided to take it like a man. She came up to me and said, “Jimmy, I believe if you had come down there God would have healed you.” I humbly received her correction and told the Lord, “I’m sorry Lord. I’ll go up there next time if you give me another chance.” Please note that I was fifteen years old. I hadn’t come into the knowledge of Divine Healing that I have today. The next Sunday morning we had a service almost identical to the previous Sunday. There was a prayer line, God was moving in our midst, and the elderly lady
I was scheduled for surgery 8 days later. I couldn’t reach my doctor to tell him I didn’t need an operation…. came to the front and called me down there. This time I went. There was a “tongue and an interpretation” that said, “I have healed you...” among other things. I can’t remember the other words, all I knew was there was a tongue and interpretation immediately after they prayed for me. In faith I received it as a direct Word from God to me. God had said He had healed me! That was
enough for me! I tell you of a truth, upon receiving God’s Word to me in faith, I have not had another symptom! That day the healing that Christ Jesus so graciously provided for me by His atonement approximately 2,000 years earlier, was completely and gloriously manifested in my body. “Now unto the King, eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, [be] honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Tim. 1:17). The story continues. I was scheduled for surgery eight days later. I couldn’t reach my doctor to tell him I didn’t need an operation, so I checked into the hospital the following Sunday afternoon. He came into my room about 8:00 P.M. and said, “Jimmy, are you ready for surgery? We start at 7:00 A.M.” I said, “No sir, I’m not. I don’t need an operation.” He said, “What do you mean you don’t need an operation?” I said, “God has healed me. I want some more x-rays.” He said, “I have all the x-rays I need.” I said, “Sir, you have x-rays before God healed me. I want some new x-rays now.” The doctor was visibly upset. He went into the hallway where my mother was and said, “Mrs. Patillo, Jimmy thinks God has healed him.” My mother said,
Melissa and Jimmy Patillo “Yes sir. God has healed him.” The doctor said, “Ok” and came back into the room. He said to me, “Jimmy, I want you to come to my office on Wednesday morning; we’re going to take some more x-rays and see if God has healed you or not!” I checked out of the hospital. On Wednesday I went into his office and took some xrays. Two weeks later I received a phone call from him. He said, “Jimmy, the doctors at the Children’s Hospital in Little Rock want you to come up there. They want to see what has happened to you.” To make a long story short, my family and I went to Little Rock. I drank some dye and lay down on an x-ray machine for an hour. After that, the Chief Radiologist at the Children’s Hospital told me and my immediate family, “Jimmy, your kidneys are perfect; there is nothing wrong with your kidneys!” I went home. Two weeks later I get a call from my Urologist. He said, “Jimmy, the
doctors at the children’s hospital in Little Rock believe, as I do, that you don’t need an operation.” I wasn’t trying to be rude to him, but I wanted him to acknowledge what God had done. I said, “So that means God has healed me then, doesn’t it?” There was a pause on the other end of the line and then he said with emphasis, “That is exactly what it means!” Beloved, God is not a respecter of persons. What He has done for others, He will do for you. Declare in faith the Word of God that He is still the God that healeth you (Ex.15:26); that “You shall come to your grave
in a full age like as a shock of corn cometh in its season” (Job 5:26); that He will take sickness from the midst of you and the number of your days He will fulfill (Ex. 23:25-26); that He has “redeemed you from every sickness and every plague” (Deut. 28:61 and Gal. 3:13). I dare you to declare “As your days, so shall your strength be” (Deut 33:25). The Lord God of the Heavens has declared that “I will give you strength and bless you with peace” (Ps. 29:11); He said, “no plague shall come near your dwelling” (Ps. 91:10); He said, “I will satisfy you with long life” (Ps. 91:16); He said, “I sent My word and healed you
and delivered you from your destructions” (Ps. 107:20); You shall not die, but live, and declare His works (Ps. 118:17).
His words are life to you, and health to all your flesh (Pr. 4:22). He bore your sickness, He carried your pains, and by His stripes you are healed (Isa. 53)!

By: Wesley Sikes After I got out of fourth grade, I was nine. That summer was the worst ever for me. My dad was taken from me when I was promised to see him later that night. I didn’t see him for almost 3 months. Every day I was exposed to pornography. I had smoke blown in my face. My sister told me to stop crying as she held a knife to my throat. This was before I knew God. My dad was off and on but that summer, he just surrendered. I didn’t know this, I didn’t fully know this until we started going to the People of Truth Church. I loved learning about God and just loved listening to people and always being around good people. But I was still doubting. A couple Weeks ago Bill Hanshew and his family came down for the Fires of Pentecost Feast. Healings happened throughout the week, but Friday night I saw firsthand. I believe about 5 people get healed in the Name of Jesus. I knew then. That night I got my first Bible, promise box, little short Bible study. And I’m still struggling with giving up my bad habits but I’m progressing.

By: Kathy Weddle Not knowing what to do, it was April 1969. I had gone to a youth retreat with the youth group at a church I was on the verge of joining. I'd never been popular at school; liked well enough, but not the girl
By the time this was confirmed, Charlie was far away in Boot camp. My parents were devastated. The leaders in my church were devastated; after all, I had such a promising future.
Ever heard the testimony of someone who decided NOT to have an abortion? Read this testimony of a young girl who was torn from every which way. Then God stepped in, when no one else could! everybody wanted to be with. I don't know what happened that weekend but there was a shift and somehow I was the center of all the attention. At 15, of course that put me in Heaven. It seemed like (and this was confirmed recently!) most of the boys wanted to "go with me". I had never had that kind of attention before. But I already had my eye on a particular boy; tall and good looking, he kept himself apart from the other kids. Charlie. By weekend's end we were "an item", although he was quick to let me know he'd never gone with a "younger woman" before. I was 14 1/2. He was a whole 22 months older. I had been blessed with the most wonderful Christian parents and upbringing. An only child, they had pinned all their hopes on me. At that point, everything pointed to music; I was already at college level in piano and flute; training for concert pianist and the Kansas City Philharmonic. Once Charlie came in the picture, though, all that changed. I was in LOVE, I thought. My attention, which had always centered on music, changed to what was developing into a classic Romeo and Juliet romance. It was, I thought, amazing. Then the unthinkable happened. Charlie and his dad were at odds in a big way, so, in order to get away and prove himself a real man, he enlisted in the Marine Corps as soon as he turned 18 February 19th, 1970. But "they", the awful parents, were trying to separate us, and now, as I realized he was going off to war, in true Juliet fashion, I wanted to "have his baby to carry on his name". So we got pregnant. Yes, we. All too often, the girl sound like she got pregnant all by herself.
Kathy Weddle In 1970, abortion was not yet a subject in the church. No one knew anything about it except for hearing about women going to back alley rooms and getting "operated" on with coat hangers. There were no morals or standards established....yet. One of the doctors Mom and Dad took me to give me a shot to "help start my period". I shudder to think what it actually was. It didn't work. So he suggested they take me to Colorado for an abortion. The states were legalizing it one by one, and Colorado was the closest to us. At this point I had no say so as a minor child. They could have me declared unfit to be a mother due to a lack of maturity or unable to bear a child safely due to still being so underdeveloped physically. The
“The strange thing was that without any teaching or having seen any corresponding Scripture, I was fully aware this was murder. - Kathy strange thing was that without any teaching or having seen any corresponding Scripture, I was fully aware this was murder. They were so confused. Looking back, it's hard not to take all the guilt back from having produced such pain in them.
My dad had retired some months earlier, but got bored, so he'd picked up a part time job as a janitor at another church in their denomination. Right before we were to leave for Colorado, he was emptying the trash and one of the denominations magazines fell out on the floor, OPENED to what was one of the FIRST articles about when life begins. Dad took it home to Mom, and they cancelled the trip to Colorado. God had stepped in and saved the life of my son by providing the revelation my parents so badly needed. I got close enough to know the feeling of impending disaster at what we nearly did. Years later, the security company I was Dispatch Supervisor for, got a contract with the 2 biggest abortion providers in the region. The need for security was to provide escort for the "doctor" to and from the clinics, and stand guard during operating hours. Why? Because of all the antiabortion activists who stood on the sidewalk and
SCREAMED at the people coming and going "God hates you", "Murderer", "You'll rot in Hell", etc. the majority of the activists were well intended Christians "taking a stand". Would you like to know how many babies they saved? None. Not one. I won't even go into the damage bombing these places did. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see every one of them wiped off the planet; but not like that. Jesus never reached anyone by screaming hate at them. He approached every person in agape love, and met them where they were. There were guards I'd been witnessing to that walked away from salvation because of the hypocritical behavior of Christians in those places. And yet, I know they meant well. They weren't considering how Jesus would have handled it, how it would add to the damage the women were already doing, how many souls would turn away from Christ at the site of Christians hating; they only reacted to the horrible nightmare of the sin of abortion. It would be years before Christians began to realize that approaching women with their hands extended in God's love and giving alternatives to the predicament the women were in was the "more excellent way". Abortion is vile and evil to its core; there are really no words to adequately describe it. It must be fought from the pulpit, in the legislature, taking every legal and moral avenue possible. But where these precious, and yes, I mean precious, women who Jesus died to save, we must deal with in the same love He dealt with us; unconditional. Here's the hardest part....even if they went through with it. Yes, even then. I am so grateful the Lord stepped in and stopped my abortion; I cannot imagine what the knowledge of killing their grandchild would have done to my parents when they eventually found out. I would want someone there to help them back to God's grace. We need laborers for this harvest. It takes a special kind of Christian to be this kind of a missionary. Are you that kind?

Hey Kids If you have a parent in the military, remember to pray for them every day. Another very important thing to remember is to write to them as often as you can. They miss you and love to hear from you. It can be a short letter or as long as you want, but just write. It will make their day!
