I feel honored to have had the privilege to meet Troy. Troy is a contractor for NASA and has not only wrote an amazing article, but has given us links to pictures and videos so that we can see more of what God has created than just the earth and sky around us. I would like to say “Thank You Troy, for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have you, as a specialist in your field of work, give us the opportunity to have such valuable information for our magazine! May God Richly Bless You!” Faye Hanshew Troy is the Education and Public Engagement Lead for the Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission (MMS). He is responsible for mission level public outreach activities and coordination of overall EPO efforts. His responsibilities include planning, coordinating, implementing, and managing the MMS mission’s outreach activities to meet NASA’s EPO goals and guidelines. He also serves as the Educational Technology Integration Specialist for NASA’s Sun-Earth Day, Space Weather Action

Center and Space Weather Living History programs. He provides ongoing educational technology support and leadership in the development and distribution of educational programs and materials reaching over 50 million people worldwide. During his time at NASA he initiated and maintained the formal development of new research based approaches to educational technology integration within the Heliophysics education. His team approach lead to the development of a new Heliophysics education program that allows students to create Space Weather Action Centers in their schools. These centers encourage students to collect Space Weather data from existing resources, analyze that data and deliver an inexpensive video report on space weather and/or mission science. He continues to lead his team in social media integration, applications and in the development of new podcasting programs. Before coming to NASA, Troy was a high school mathematics teacher and Educational Technology Coordinator at an alternative high school in Virginia, working with ‘at-risk’ students. While there he led the creation and maintenance of an Instructional Technology Plan leading to the integration of current and accessible technologies into educational curriculum. Prior to working in Virginia, his teaching career took him to some exceptional places beginning with his first teaching experience on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Kinlichee, AZ. While there he taught in a Bureau of Indian Affairs boarding school for three years. He later joined the United States Peace Corps and served as an Algebra and Geometry teacher in Chad, Africa. While there he led the development of a French/English mathematics database consisting of proven lesson plans and educational methodologies.. For just a few moments, I’d like for you to read the following 3 translations of Psalms 19:1-4. In my experience, reading translations of the same scripture is like using a series of Troy Cline specialized lenses to look more closely at the same image. Each lens provides additional clues, insights and nuances that might otherwise be missed. King James: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. Amplified Bible: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork. 2 Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night shows forth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor spoken word [from the stars]; their voice is not heard. 4 Yet their voice [in evidence] goes out through all the earth, their sayings to the end of the world.

The Message: 1 God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. 2 Madame Day holds classes every morning, Professor Night lectures each evening. 3 Their words aren’t heard, their voices aren’t recorded, 4 But their silence fills the earth: unspoken truth is spoken everywhere.

The Bible says that God’s creative order testifies to His existence. It also says that God has made the fact of His existence clear to us through nature and instinct and that there is no excuse

for doubting that He is. Even Paul talks about discernible power of God through nature: In Romans 1:19-20 he says, "For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them. For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification].” What a powerful statement!

Like many others throughout time, I have been fascinated by and drawn to the heavens. I remember well those precious moments in my life where I would find myself in a place free of light pollution having the opportunity to simply lay on my back, look up into the heavens and be overwhelmed. Each moment beneath that canopy of stars provided me with a glimpse into the creative nature of God. Each time was a reminder that God’s creative and miraculous presence is always around us. In Psalms 139:6-8 David, being overwhelmed with the presence of God, stated, “Your [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high above me, I cannot

reach it. Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there.” In my imagination I can see David penning this psalm while lying on his back in an open field somewhere beneath a majestic canopy of stars. What a life changing moment that must have been. Those types of life changing moments often happen when we least expect them. One of those moments happened to me over 35 years ago while thumbing through the pages of a magazine called, “Wonderful West Virginia.” Being from that state I was

expecting to see familiar landscapes and wildlife photography. Granted, most of the magazine was just that. However, when I reached the centerfold I was completely taken by surprise. Before me was a dazzling image of the night sky filled with thousands and thousands of stars. The only words on the page were, “In my Father’s house are many mansions”. In that instant, my entire view of that verse and the awesome creative power of God transformed into something beyond words! As dazzling as the image in that magazine was, its resolution pales in comparison to what we are capable of capturing today. Take a look!

The image above is the result of over 5 years of work by astronomers at the CFHT telescope at Mauna Kea, Hawaii. Between the years (2003-2008) they collected and stitched together hundreds of images of the night sky. When stacked together all these individual images, taken by a 340 Megapixel camera called the MegaCam, provide us with one of the most detailed images of the heavens ever captured. With the exception of only a few foreground stars from our own galaxy, approximately half a million galaxies can be counted on the entire image! “When fully zoomed out, as represented on the left in the above illustration, the image

does not look very exciting. But with a subset of the image of only 500x500 pixels shown at full resolution (on the right, above), a few large galaxies are easy to see: you can quickly count ten of them. Look more closely and you start seeing tens of small ones! If you were to count them all, you will end up with a couple hundred on this tiny fraction (0.07%) of the whole image. If you extrapolate to the full size of the image, you do indeed end up with nearly half a million galaxies! (see http://www.cfht.hawaii.edu/en /news/CFHT30/#wallpaper ) To help you fully grasp the full power of what you are seeing, let me remind you that we live on a very small beautiful planet that is inside

of an enormous solar system. That solar system contains just one star, our Sun. That single star is only one of trillions that make up our galaxy called the Milky Way. The image that you just saw is filled with over 500, 000 galaxies each filled with trillions of stars! How amazing is it that the One who brought all of this into

existence still knows YOUR name and ,according to Luke 12:7 , also knows the number of hairs on your head! I’m not finished. This entire image is just one small section of the night sky. As a matter of fact, it only captures a section of the sky that is 4 times the size of the moon. That’s right. We found over a half of a million galaxies in a field of view no larger than the size of a paper plate held at arm’s length.

So what holds it all together? For quite some time scientists have been puzzling over ‘what’ actually holds the universe together. There's clear evidence that ‘something’ is there holding all things together but they

haven't 'seen' what it is yet. Could it be gravity? Not entirely. In order to have gravity you have to have matter. Only 4% of the gravitational effects observed are from visible matter. The remaining 96% is the result of ‘something else’. Because they don’t yet know what it is, scientists are calling it dark matter or dark energy. Without it there simply isn’t enough to hold galaxies, and clusters of galaxies, together. So why isn’t the universe simply flying apart? Hebrews 1:2-3 says that is through the ‘Word’ that “He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order]. “ It goes on to say that His “mighty Word of power” is responsible for “upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe. “ Col 1:17 (AMP) says that “in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).”

How beautiful and awe-inspiring is that! Does this mean that I don’t believe that scientists will find a scientific answer to the mystery of ‘dark matter’? Not really. As a matter of fact, there’s a good chance that one day they will. If they do, will that somehow destroy my belief in a God who is ultimately responsible for the order and maintenance of an infinite universe? ABOLUTLY NOT!

Troy Cline My view of God is simply not that limited. For me, each new scientific discovery unveils an even deeper insight into the awesome nature of God. I believe in an infinite God who can work though processes of millions of years and/or simply

WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO Genesis 1:1-2 says, “1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” There are many debates within the Christian and scientific world about creation, dinosaurs and how it all came into being. Some say that God planted dinosaurs’ bones in the earth to throw people off so they would believe that the each has been here for millions of years. Others say that dinosaurs roamed the earth and then there was an ice age. Still others think that the earth is only a few thousand years old. However, God is not trying to confuse people. There really are biblical, scientific and common sense answers to it all. Some theologians say there is a span of time between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. It was the time when the beauty of God’s creation, in all of its perfection took place; yet something changed by verse two. I believe that when God created the heavens and the

earth, it was completely perfect. Yet verse 2 reveals an imperfect earth. Did you ever wonder what happened? There was an angelic conflict which occurred as told in Isaiah 14 and the perfect earth was destroyed — to a degree. So, whether Genesis chapter one and two are the story of the creation or of a recreation of something that was destroyed in a war that took place on the earth (not in heaven — they were fallen from heaven: Isaiah 14:12), still chaos was the result. This was a war between lucifer and his onethird of the fallen angels who sided up with the wrong team, and those loyal two-thirds of the angels who minister for those who are the heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:13). But the point is that the Spirit of God breathed upon imperfection and brought things back into order once again.

Isaiah 65:17 says, “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” Here are my thoughts: This passage could very well be a typology of the perfect creation God made, and then the restoration of the mess lucifer and his angels made. However you may see it, this verse also speak of the beautiful of a recreation which

KNOW ABOUT CREATION

BUT NEVER ASK took place by the words of God once again, which would be when God brought chaos into order. However, after God had finished recreating the earth, He made man. Now, many will argue that the short span of time in which Adam and Eve were in the garden, left no time in the historic timeline of the earth for there to have ever been any “prehistoric” dinosaurs or an ice age. Yet, we literally have no record of how long Adam and Eve were actually in the garden. And while it may be supposition on my part, this could have easily been the period of time where millions of years occurred and had no historical record. Next in Genesis 2:19-20 it says, “19Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature that was its name. 20So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable

to him.” While we see no biblical indication of a historical time span, we do see how God formed every species of animal in like manner as the creation of Adam. And that took an unmeasured period of time, yet a documented account of this event. The difference was that man became a living soul; and animals did not. Every type of bird, beast and dinosaur was created from the dust of the ground, by God. Next God brought each species of animal before Adam “to see what he (Adam) would call them.” And the Bible says, “And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.” So Adam named each animal of every kind upon the earth and also had dominion over them. Now, just a small piece of humor on my part, but I think it’s funny how that a caveman may have been afraid of dinosaurs; but not Adam. He had dominion. However you see this story unfolding, whether through a scientific mind, or completely through a biblical perspective;

what I see here is an awesome account of the beauty of God’s creation. God spoke and stars, planets and entire solar systems appeared in the sky. The earth was covered with grass, trees, oceans and rivers of waters, simply by the words that came out of His mouth. John 1:3 says, “All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.” When the Bible says that there was nothing that was made unless it was by God’s Word or creative power; it means that there is no bigbang theory or evolution that simply caused things to evolve on their own and without a divine creator. It is simple: God spoke and it was. Genesis 1:31 says, “And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, [it was] very good.” There were no errors in the original creation, until after lucifer and his onethird of the rebellion occurred. God did not create an imperfect world. He made no mistakes in placing everything as it was supposed to be. It

was good. Chaos was introduced when the most beautiful angel in heaven; rebelled against God and was kicked out and he fell. Then the Spirit of God breathed upon the face of the earth, all the way to the core of its chaos and all became perfect once again. I offer one more piece of confirmation in scripture found in Colossians 1:16-17 and it says, “16For by Him were all things created, that are

in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: 17And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.” God created the heavens and the earth in all its beauty…period. Genesis 1:1 was a perfect creation, which points to the imprint of a perfect God.

As God created man, He gave purpose to His creation in that you were created by Him and for Him. Your purpose here in this life is to worship, have fellowship and a relationship with the living God. And God loved mankind so much, that He has provided a way for all mankind to enter into that same fellowship (John 3:16). You are God’s beautiful creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). So, take time to enjoy God today. …Think about it!

Sticks and Stones But Don’t Let Their By: Dan Corse Walk into an institution of public education in the United States and you generally won’t find “IT” taught. What you will find taught is the “Theory of Evolution,” though the word “Theory” is often not included in the discussion, rather the “Theory” is taught as undeniable fact. In fact, by viewing evolution merely as a theory, one seen by many within the scientific community as lacking credible scientific support, we often subject ourselves to a barrage of jeers, disdain, and mean-spirited taunts. As for those in the scientific community who don’t embrace the “Theory” as viable, their credentials are often viewed as suspect, generally without even considering the validity or credulity of their assertions.

Creationism is the position that God created the universe. Considering the scientific validity of Creationism, it is not unusual to hear those embracing evolutionary theory stating emphatically that Creationism is in no way scientific. Yet, Dr. Duane Gish, Ph.D., who earned his biochemistry degree from the University of California at Berkeley, states that “the creation model is at least as scientific as the evolution model.”

Mention “IT” among many of those who have been brainwashed by those aforementioned educational institutions and chances are you will find your intelligence called into question, with such tools as sarcasm and condescension often taking the place of reasonable discussion. What is the “IT” of which we speak? The “IT” is “Creationism.” What is Creationism?

Gish, speaking of the scientific model of creation, notes that it “includes the scientific evidence for a sudden, creation of complex and diversified kinds of life, with systematic gaps persisting between different kinds and with genetic variation occurring within each kind since that time.” Furthermore, he adds, “the creation model questions vertical evolution, the emergence of

Dan Corse

complex from simple chance between kinds, but it does not challenge what is often called horizontal evolution or microevolution, which creationists call genetic variation or species or subspecies formation within created kind.” Within the “Summary of Scientific Evidence for Creation (Part I & II),” Dr. Gish considers seven areas. Let us briefly examine them: 1. “The Universe and the Solar System Were Suddenly Created”

Break Bones Words Hurt You The First Law of Thermodynamics states that the total quantity of matter and energy in the universe is constant. The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that matter and energy always tend to change from complex and ordered states to disordered states. Therefore the universe could not have created itself, but could not have existed forever, or it would have run down long ago. 2. “Life Was Suddenly Created” Life appears abruptly and in complex forms in the fossil record, and gaps appear systematically in the fossil record between various living kinds. These facts indicate that basic kinds of plants and animals were created. 3. “All Present Living Kinds of Animals and Plants Have Remained Fixed Since Creation, Other than Extinctions, and Genetic Variation in Originally Created Kinds Has Only Occurred within Narrow Limits” Systematic gaps occur between kinds in the fossil record. None of the

intermediate fossils that would be expected on the basis of the evolution model have been found between single celled organisms and invertebrates, between invertebrates and vertebrates, between fish and amphibians, between amphibians and reptiles, between reptiles and birds or mammals, or between “lower” animals and primates. While evolutionists might assume that these intermediate forms existed at one time, none of the hundreds of millions of fossils found so far provide the missing links. Thus present kinds of animals and plants apparently were created, as shown by the systematic fossil gaps and by the similarity of fossil forms to living forms. 4. “Mutation and Natural Selection Are Insufficient To Have Brought About Any Emergence of Present Living Kinds from a Simple Primordial Organism” The mathematical probability that random mutation and natural selection ultimately produced complex living

kinds from a simpler kind is infinitesimally small even after billions of years. Thus mutation and natural selection apparently could not have brought about evolution of present living kinds from a simple first organism. 5. “Man and Apes Have a Separate Ancestry” Although highly imaginative “transitional forms” between man and ape-like creatures have been constructed by evolutionists based on very fragmentary evidence, the fossil record actually documents the separate origin or primates in general, monkeys, apes, and men. In fact, Lord Zuckerman (not a creationist) states that there are no “fossil traces” of a transformation from an ape-like creature to man. 6. “The Earth’s Geologic Features Were Fashioned Largely by Rapid Catastrophic Processes that Affected the Earth on a Global and Regional Scale (Catastrophism)” Catastrophic events have characterized the earth’s history. Huge floods,

massive asteroid collisions, large volcanic eruptions, devastating landslides, and intense earthquakes have left their marks on the earth. Catastrophic events appear to explain the formation of mountain ranges, deposition of thick sequences of sedimentary rocks with fossils, initiation of the glacial age, and extinction of dinosaurs and other animals. Catastrophism (catastrophic changes), rather than uniformitarianism (gradual changes), appears to be the best interpretation of a major portion of earth’s geology. 7. “The Inception of the Earth and Living Kinds May Have Been Relatively Recent” Radiometric dating methods (such as the uranium-lead and potassium-argon methods) depend on three assumptions: (a) that no decay (lead or argon) was present initially or that the initial quantities can be accurately estimated, (b) that the decay system was closed through the years (so that radioactive material or product did not move in or out of the rock), and (c) that the decay was constant over time. Each of these assumptions may be questionable: (a) some nonradiogenic lead or argon was perhaps present

initially; (b) the radioactive isotope (uranium or potassium isotopes) can perhaps migrate out of, and the decay product (lead or argon) can migrate into, many rocks over the years; and (c) the decay rate can perhaps change by neutrino bombardment and other causes. Thus ages estimated by the radiometric dating methods may very well be grossly in error. Alternate dating methods suggest much younger ages for the earth and life. Thus the inception of the earth and the inception of life may have been relatively recent when all the evidence is considered. Gish concludes, “There is scientific evidence for creation from cosmology, thermodynamics, paleontology, biology, mathematical probability, geology, and other sciences.” Adding, “There are many scientists in each field who conclude that the scientific data best support the creation model, not the evolution model.” Furthermore, Gish, having worked as a research biochemist with Cornell University Medical College, the Virus Laboratory, University of California – Berkeley, The Upjohn Co., and then serving as the Vice President of the Institute for Creation Research, was not alone in preparing this summary, which many evolutionists would have no doubt sought to use as reason to attack the validity of his

summary. Those who assisted him in preparing this summary were: Dr. Henry M. Morris, (Ph.D.), University of Minnesota, Hydraulics; Dr. Kenneth B. Cumming (Ph.D.), Harvard University, Biology; Dr. Gary E. Parker (Ph.D.), Ball State University, Biology; Dr. Theodore W. Rybka (Ph.D.), University of Oklahoma, Physics; and Dr. Harold S. Slusher (M.S.), University of Oklahoma, Geophysics. As stated or inferred earlier, those of us who embrace Creationism as viable and scientifically supportable often encounter much resistance when doing so. Strategies aimed at demeaning our intelligence and the validity of the credentials of scientists who embrace Creationism occur with regularity. Yet, namecalling, demeaning, mean-spirited and condescending behaviors do not equate to an intellectually and scientifically sound argument, though they may seem to do so in the minds of those exhibiting them. Embracing Creationism, we should not cower in the face of such methods. We should continue to increase our understanding of the validity of the argument for Creationism. And in modifying an old saying let it serve as our mantra, “Sticks and Stones May Break Bones, but Let Not Their Words Hurt You.” Duane Gish, Ph.D. 1981. Summary of Scientific Evidence for Creation (Parts I & II). Acts and Facts. 10 (5).

POWER TO CREATE By: Kim Miller

In the first chapter of Genesis, we see how God created the world. He used the spoken Word to create. In this chapter it says, "God said" and "God called." He created this world by His Word. He spoke it. He didn't just think what He wanted to create, He spoke and it was created. He believed that when He spoke, it would be created. We create our world, our life by the words that we speak. Our Father has given us that authority. When Jesus died on the cross, He said, "It is finished." His word is forever settled in Heaven. He has already accomplished everything for us. It is up to us to take hold of Jesus' finished work in our lives by speaking His word in faith. He has given us the power to create. We must ask ourselves, "What are we creating?" Are the words that we speak a result of faith in Him and what He has done,

or fear dictated by satan, the news media, others, our circumstances, or even our own thoughts? Mark 11:22-23 says, “So Jesus answered and said to them, have faith in God. 23 For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” See, we must speak it out. It doesn't say that we shall have whatsoever we hope for, or whatsoever we think in our minds. Romans 10:8 says, “But what does it say? The Word is near you it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim. You see, that scripture says that the

Kim Miller Word of Faith isn’t only in our hearts, but in our mouths. We must meditate on it in order to get it into our hearts and speak it out. I was recently talking to someone who told me that they don’t believe in “that Word of Faith stuff.” I told them how God does believe in “that Word of Faith stuff!” The creative power of words is all throughout the Word of God. The above verses of scripture talks about the Power God has given us through the words that we speak. We can’t sit back and expect God’s Word to be fulfilled in our lives if we don’t believe it, speak it, and do it. Throughout the years, I’ve heard many Christians say, “God is in

control.” He is not in control if we just sit here expecting Him to take control. Like I said, “Jesus has already accomplished everything for us.” We must believe in His finished work and use the authority that he has given us. We must take control of the circumstances in our lives with the Word of God. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Our words have creative power, whether they are positive or negative. Let’s begin to speak His Word over our lives. His

Word is life to us and it will bring life to every situation when we speak it in faith. Job 22:2 says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon they ways.” Let’s take a few minutes and be honest with ourselves. Let’s thing about the words we have been speaking and how they are affecting our lives. Let’s begin to create something different. Decide that you are not going to speak what you see in the natural, but that you are going to agree with God and His Word, believe Him, and speak what you see with

the eye of Faith. Romans 1:17 says, “The just shall live by Faith.” Living by Faith should become a natural thing for us as believers. That’s how we are supposed to live. I hear many believers say that they are believing God for healing or something else, then they begin to talk negatively about that very same situation. They even post about how sick they feel on Facebook! We must be careful not to stop the Word of God from working in our lives by the words that we speak. He created us to create. We must daily ask ourselves, “What are we creating?”

The opening words of the Bible make this clear statement, ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth’ (Genesis 1: 1). I cannot think of another way in which this statement could be made clearer or stronger. It is God who created the heavens and the earth; creation did not happen by chance; it was not just a simple accident of colliding atoms, there was a designer who had a purpose. There are of course many who would like to deny the Creator, and deny His existence; there is nothing new in man’s denial attempts. Paul however

addresses this point in these words: ‘… the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain for them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse’ (Romans 1: 18 – 20). The physical evidence of Creator God is all around us and the denial of this fact originates from the wickedness of ungodly man who in disbelief delights in his own intellect and understanding. Man of course can choose not to believe in the Creator but he has no defense or excuse

before God because evidence is plain to see.

the

But why is all of this so important for the believer? Well apart from of course recognizing the sovereignty of God as Creator the Christian believer is able to enjoy another dimension of knowing God because, ‘if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us’ (1 John 4: 12). How wonderful it is to know that God abides in each true believer. Yet how sad it is that many of us find this difficult to comprehend and perhaps even more of us do not live in the fullness of this truth. Dear brother and sister, it is time to take back what we have lost and claim our inheritance as children of our Creator God. You see the first chapter of Genesis helps us understand the hereditary importance of recognizing God for who He truly is because God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness (v26). This amazing verse tells us

that we, you and I were specifically created in the likeness of God so for the Christian believer we not only possess the likeness of God but as we also discovered earlier God abides in us! This is the reality of who we truly are. But this discovery brings with it a responsibility because we are God’s representatives on His created earth and consequently we must exhibit this fact in and through our lives to those who do not believe. If we are in any doubt about how we can prove Creator God in us the first chapter of Genesis not only tells who God is but also something about His unwavering character and power where on nine occasions we read, ‘God said’ (v3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26, 29). God said and it was so. God only needed to speak the word and what He said was what He received. The astonishing thing about this God centered power is that as believers it is in us because He both created and abides in us. As believers we do not therefore have to allow satan to steal our health or put pain upon us, why? Because: ‘if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and

we receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him’ (1 John 3: 21, 22). Sin, sickness and disease are from our adversary satan, a result of sin for which man was expelled from God’s presence to make his own choices (Genesis chapter three). They are therefore as opposite to God as the opposing poles of a magnet, which repel one another. They are imperfections and outside of God’s created plan. You see, God never created imperfections. We know God’s never intended anything that is not good because seven times in this first chapter of Genesis we read His response to what He had created, ‘it was good or it was very good’ (v4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25, 31). What God created was good and so we have a hope and victory because just as God spoke and the good that He said happened so all we need to do is speak, ask and receive that which is good. But it must come from our recognition of who God is and a genuine, holy and God pleasing relationship. Some may ask, ‘is all of this really possible’? In Jesus we have a perfect role-model

who showed us the possibilities and everything I have talked about was neatly summarized by Him when He said: ‘Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours’ (Mark 11: 22 – 24) It is when we read these words of Jesus that we begin to see who God is because the first thing Jesus does is confirm that we ‘have faith in God’. It is not a faith placed in anyone or anything else. Our faith is firmly rooted in Creator God. I love what follows this glorious recognition of who God is because Jesus says, ‘whoever says to this mountain’. This statement immediately includes me because I am a ‘whoever’. I am not a person specially picked out. I do not have to have a special ability or training. I am just an ordinary whoever among the crowd and so I am counted

in. I can confidently speak to the mountain. It is in Mark 11: 22 – 24 where the reflected likeness that I and you have of Creator God suddenly stands out because: a) Look how many times the word say, says or ask appear in these two verses of Mark chapter eleven. Just as God spoke so we too speak. Because our faith is deeply rooted in God we are perfectly assured that nothing is beyond His ability and the good we ask will happen. b) Jesus also uses the example of

a Mountain moving from one place to another. Suddenly we realize that God who created is more than capable of moving mountains and much more. Nothing is impossible for God. All we need to do is believe in our heart. All we need to do is believe that as soon as we ask God for something He has done it. If we truly believe God is the Creator, and that we possess His likeness and He abides in us we will have those things that we ask. To illustrate what I am

talking about, I love the picture and illustrative depth of truth that is graphically recorded in the New Testament book of Acts: ‘And God did extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them’ (Acts 19: 11, 12) What I love here is that picture of truth; Creator God in whom nothing is impossible did the extraordinary miracles. It was not Paul, it is not you or me or any other man; it is Sovereign God who works through our willing, believing hands.

Happy Veterans Day!

IN THE BEGINNING OR TRYING TO BECOME WHAT YOU ALREADY ARE !

By: Larry Winingar 1. Adam trying to be like God. Gen. 1:31 …it was VERY good. (after making man) Gen 3:5 …ye shall be as gods (God)… Luke 3:38 …Adam, which was the son of God From the very beginning we have a conundrum, paradox or impossibility of trying to be what God had already made us to be: sons of God. This is not an impossible goal. It is an innate, built-in destination! Remember it is in the seed to produce after its own kind. Gen 1:24. In Gen. 1:1 in the first 3 words of the Bible, there is a hidden secret. “In the beginning…”. This word, ‘beginning,’ is 7225 in Strong’s Concordance and one of

the meanings is ‘firstfruit’. We know that Jesus was the first born of many brethren so before you read 3 words in the Bible, you have already found Christ and one of God’s foremost principals of creation. The seed inside a peach doesn’t say. “Boy, I hope I can become a peach someday!” Its destiny is far greater than that. It too will “multiply and replenish” many times over in like-kind. There is a huge difference between a desire or hope and a predestined (God designed) end result. 2. Jesus temptation…”If thou be the son of God…” Mat. 4:3,6 Our enemy is always trying to challenge us in

Larry Winingar order to get us to doubt who we really are. The ONLY way to get the victory is to say who and what our Father says we are! You know, if you don’t know who you are or anything about your lineage you will be like an orphan continually searching for your roots. Some may say, “All that genealogy searching today has no bearing on who you are in God.” True, but the desire to know who you

are and from where you came has its roots in your built-in spiritual homing instinct. Yes, every man has that seed of Christ within him just waiting to be germinated. Read John 1:8-9. He (John) was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. I compare it to a pilot light of a furnace. But when the valve of understanding is finally ‘turned on’ the main purpose of the furnace manifests and everyone benefits from its heat. So, the biggest lie of all time was to convince you that you are not who God made you to be and then get you to start trying to become what you already are! What a mess!

1. The Rainbow When I was a child, I heard that it was a beautiful, colorful bow in the sky with a mysterious beginning and end and a pot of gold at the end. That sounds like much of religion to me (something unattainable). When you travel in an airplane you might get the opportunity to see a complete rainbow. It is no longer a ‘bow’. It is a complete full circle! That is because your view is no longer blocked by an earth-bound mentality. It is a complete, full and proper sign of a covenant such as your wedding ring. Circumcision is also a full circle. By the way, when the full circumcision is made, you can no longer see the beginning or the end of the cut. This simply means that when we gain a full and complete

understanding of God’s covenant, then and only

Larry and Carla Winingar then will we have an eternal mind-set! 2. The ‘rising of the sun’ This is referred to many times in the Bible, even by Jesus. Do you think that he was not aware that the earth was round? The sun does not rise in the East at all. It remains steadfast. It is the Earth that does the turning. God is not going to change; we must! Are you aware that many were excommunicated from the church for believing that the world was round?! Remember this: Once God has allowed you to see things from His perspective, no matter how hard the persecution, it will be impossible for your mind to return to its original dimensions. 3. First the Natural then the Spiritual. Consider the phrase commonly quoted, “first the natural, then the spiritual” from I Cor.15:46. “Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and after that the spiritual.” That was speaking of the first

When God begins to take you to a higher realm in Him, things you used to believe take on a complete new perspective. Let’s consider just 3 examples:

Larry and Carla Winingar

natural man, Adam, and then the last Adam (Christ), a quickening spirit. In our earthly realm that is true. However, from God’s point of view, which was first? God is a spirit. Did He not create this natural earth realm we live in? Now tell me which came first. Why do we always say we are “Spirit, Soul & Body” and not “Body, Soul & Spirit”? That is because first of all, we are a spirit, we have a soul and live in a body. This leads me to why I think that some of the teachings or implications that we have been taught in the past might possibly be in error or at least incomplete, namely: a) Sons of God, trying to attain unto Godliness or holiness. You have undoubtedly heard preaching with much volume and vigor, “Without Holiness, no man shall see God!” b) Trying to enter into the Holy of Holies. c) Trying to enter into His rest or experience 3rd day or 7th day realities. d) Trying to ‘overcome’ and on and on the list goes.

Could the word ‘overcomer’ possibly be referring to ‘coming over’ or as the word ‘Hebrew’ means ‘crossers-over’. You know that the hardest thing for the Jews to grasp was the fact that they needed to come over or cross over to the New Covenant from the Old. That is the whole essence of the book of Hebrews. Could it be that we have made ‘overcoming’ a chore instead of stepping into or accepting a new understanding simply because we are so used to what we have heard for so long. Now I will tell you what started me on these thoughts or search. I was looking at a “List of 3’s” in the Bible that someone had prepared such as: Spirit, Soul, Body… Father, Son, Holy Ghost…. Faith, Hope, Charity. Outer Court, Holy Place, Holy of Holies… And many more as you can well imagine. However, one group in particular caught my eye. It was: 30, 60, 100 fold.. Outer Court, (Passover, Born Again, etc.) as 30.

The Holy Place was compared to Pentecost or 60, and the Holy of Holies was compared to Tabernacles or 100. I think most theologians would probably agree with that analogy. However, being sort of mathematical inclined, I noticed a conflict. The 30-60-100 analogy did NOT correspond with the dimensions of the tabernacle and its three compartments. Remember this: The tabernacle was made after THE HEAVENLY PATTERN. If you are not aware of the dimensions of the Holy of Holies, it is 10 x 10 x 10 or 1000 sq. cubits. The Holy Place was 10 x 10 x 20 or 2000 sq. cubits. Note: I am aware of the significance of the size of these rooms as it relates to 1000 years as a day, etc. Since one is twice as big as the other, one would compare to 30 and the other to 60. This means that the Holy of Holies would have to relate to 30 and the Holy Place would relate to 60. The entire

tabernacle would then relate to 100 or 100% of the pattern God had set forth as an example of heavenly things. God does not create patterns with mathematical distortions. Did you also know that the ark in the Holiest of Holies was the first thing made in the entire tabernacle? Read Exodus 25. Consider this: Born again – where did it happen and what were the circumstances surrounding it? Did it not happen on the inside of you in a ‘secret place’ where no one REALLY knew what had happened except you? Oh others may have seen an outward expression but no one else saw what went on inside you but you and your heavenly Father. That is because there is NO earthly light or understanding in that room! In your born again experience, did you not learn about and experience true mercy. The only place you find anything relative to mercy in the tabernacle is “the mercy seat” located in the Holy of Holies.

Pentecostal experience – Was it not the next thing that happened to you because of your desire to know Him in a deeper way that would cause you to be of benefit to others and be more victorious in your daily walk? Did He not begin to write His laws in your heart of flesh instead of a stone as in the first Pentecost? However, in this realm, aren’t you still greatly influenced by your own flesh? Your heart continues to cry out for more even though many may have seen you with their earthly eyes be used greatly of the Lord to bless others. Most Christians would agree that He is in us but ‘us being in Him’ is harder to accept. Do we not know that when He was crucified, died and rose again that we were in Him? Consider this: He took us (in Him) to the brazen alter, past the laver, into the Holy place, rent the veil and on into the Holiest of All. We were not aware of it at the time but nevertheless it happened! We were in Him during His death, burial, raised and seated experience. Remember,

He did not only die ‘for’ us, He died ‘as’ us. Now is it possible that we began our awareness in the Holiest of All then went out through the rent veil to experience for ourselves (outwardly) Pentecost? And yet, we still struggle. I would like for you to see if my path has been similar to yours. Even though I have been born again, filled with the Holy Ghost, I am just beginning to hear with spiritual ears just who I really am. Is it possible that the laver (out in the open) just outside the Holy Place or Pentecost is the “still waters” that He is leading you by so that you can look into it and begin to see who you REALLY are? Remember the little cub in “The Lion King” looking into the water and seeing his reflection? Have we not heard much teaching in recent years from many different circles about “Who we are in Christ”? As for me, I believe this is where I find myself in my progress in the Lord. I am beginning to discover that I really am who He says I am and

my speech and lifestyle is beginning to change to match my personality in Him. However, sadly I must confess, I don’t think I have made it past the brazen alter yet in order to go on out and be fully beneficial to the world. That would mean that in all aspects of my life that I would be 100% beneficial, not lacking in any area. Why do I say that I have not experientially made it past the brazen alter? Because it is at that alter

that I should and will come to the full understanding that the old me, the old carnal nature, all my earthly, selfish desires will cease! I will fully recognize the old me is dead! No one or anything will offend me anymore. A dead man can not be offended. When the brazen alter is preached in its fullness and clarity we will cease to have trouble with the old man (truly reckon him dead). Old things will

have passed away and truly ALL things will have become new. Then we can go on out the gate and reach the world properly in His unfeigned, genuine love! THAT will destroy our ‘trying’. Love will have truly become our nature. That, my friend, is what I call 100 fold or producing fruit just like the SEED inside me. Ah, that is the manifestation of the Sons of God that the world is standing on tip toe to see!

“THE REFUGE” A Place of Safety By: Jonas Sikes

The Refuge

– A place where we

continue to meet once a month to gather strength, Joy and encouragement as we continue to fight the good fight with Courage; and as we continue to love Jesus with all of our Heart, mind, soul and strength. This month I want to talk some about Perseverance and how we are to put all of our trust in Jesus. You see the Bible tells us time after time that we are to trust in the Lord and not be anxious about anything. You see it is true that God has not given us the Spirit of Fear but He has given us a Spirit of Peace and of a sound mind, amen? I have been through a few tough times. I just recently went through a serious attack from the devil and without Jesus to lean on and to count on, I am not sure where I would be. I know for a fact that the outcome would be totally different. This word Persevere means that when obstacles come our way, when discouragement comes our way, when it seems that nothing is going to help us, we will stand tall for Jesus, Keep our Hope in

Jesus and most important never lose our Faith. Are times tough? Yes they are for so many. Could times get worse? Of course, anything is possible when it comes to this world that we live in. We are Soldiers for Christ and we understand that there is a peace like no other that He gives us and we also know that no enemy formed against us will prosper, death has no sting, and they can beat us down, knock us down, tear us down, cuss us, yell at us, hit us, kick us and persecute us verbally, but they cannot destroy us. Please keep putting your trust in Jesus and never lose your Faith. Please read 2 Corinthians 4:9 and know that we may have to go through some trials and tribulations but if we just hold on and keep trusting in the Lord, He is going to see us through the storm, this too shall pass and we can help so many out there who do not understand the true Love and the true Peace that Jesus Christ gives. There is a hope greater than any hope known to man and that Hope is In Jesus Christ of Nazareth. God bless, much love and next month we will talk about Love!

Praise God for the following testimonies! God is Good! Enjoy reading what God is doing in people’s lives from all around!!

As a 2 year old child I had been given up by my parents who were unable to raise me due to the life they were living. That day started me off on a journey of being passed from home to home, person to person through the UK Care system. I don't really ever remember feeling I belonged anywhere or truly knowing what is was to be

accepted, wanted or even feeling what home felt like. My whole life was unstable. Even as a child there was no security or stability. This was my existence and while I always tried to make the most of what life had dealt me, I never really understood how much being brought up this way had affected me. Very quickly my teenage life turned into a downward spiral of trying to escape my reality and trying to be accepted by my peers. I began drinking and smoking cannabis. After some time, cannabis became

unavailable and through my dealer, who in my young naivety I thought was my friend, offered me a freebie until the cannabis was available again. On a daily basis he would give me this 'freebie' never telling me what is was but just showing me how to smoke it. This continued and this day my life headed further south as I asked for some cannabis and was told they had none. I then asked for a freebie and I was told No! I would have to buy it. That was when he got me hooked. I had gone from a young teenager smoking a bit of weed to now buying heroin. My life very quickly became

consumed with the drug, everything was about getting another hit and soon the habit became so bad I could no longer keep up with the cost. As this addiction overtook me I began with petty crime and just small things to get money. But before long I was defrauding huge stores and stealing from people I knew. Again unable to keep up with the cost of the addiction I had to find other ways to fund it; and one way was drug running. I would deliver and collect packages from other cities across the UK. This often involved driving cars though I didn't even have a license. The thing with addiction is it completely overtakes you. It eats away at every single part of what life you had, and what started as just a means of escape soon becomes the very thing you want to escape from but never can. I had lost everything and everyone, I

would often sleep on people floors that weren't even carpeted and at times on park benches, and just anywhere I could lay my head. I didn't have anything apart from the clothes I stood up in but they had become so dirty, stained and full of holes. I remember one night staying at a dealer’s house and being so low I stole all the drugs in the house and ran off. After I came round from taking all the stolen drugs it wasn't long before the dealer caught up with me and beat me with a golf club until I

was unconscious. I was found lying on some grass somewhere bleeding and unable to see as my face had been so badly damaged

through

the

beating.

Life seemed like it couldn't get any worse and I woke one day having this feeling if something didn't change I would die, whether a dealer I owed money to caught up with me or I overdosed on a bad hit. I had to do something drastic and so I went and held up a shop where as a young boy I had been their paper boy, I robbed the shop and in less than an hour I was in handcuffs and arrested. In crown court I admitted to everything and was sentenced to 3 years 9 months. Serving my time in a local prison I had heard the chapel had an organ and I let one of the men know I could play, my foster parents had forced me to have lessons. I played the organ on that day and soon I was playing daily at different services. I heard about this God ho could wash you clean, give you a fresh start. I thought if that's true I want it and in prison I gave my life to Christ. I didn't serve the full term of my sentence and when I got out, without the support of people, I soon fell back into my old lifestyle and was back on

heroin. As it began to take hold of me a friend from church came and got me and took me to a prayer meeting where I was prayed for and instantly set free from drug addition, no withdrawal or anything. That was 10 years ago!

I began to attend church regularly and soon joined the

worship team as a worship leader. I realized God had a plan for me from the start and even in my young days there was a call on my life to lead people into the presence of God. I have over the years led worship around the UK, in the USA and in Africa. I have also had the great privilege of sharing my story in many churches, prisons, and even on Sky TV. My

wife Claire and I run a ministry called 'Restoration Beyond Belief Ministries' and we travel with this great message of transformation and thank God that we are seeing Him move bringing salvation, freedom, and healing to many. We give God all the glory!

HE IS! By: Troy and Susie Conner Thank You! My Testimony: Introduction to the Book, “He Is” Early one morning in 2005 while taking a shower God gave me an idea, the end result is a book called, “He Is” subtitled “God Is, Jesus Is, The Holy Spirit Is.” I read the entire Bible three times and compiled over 1400 scriptures to describe God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
