OLD TOPIA Applicant's Name: Yufei Tang Completion Date: Fall 2022 Project Location: Willets Point, Queens, NY Project Type: Group Project, Academic Work Work Content of Applicant: GIS Mapping, Creat Actor Network, Concept Generation, Architecture Design, 3 Renderings Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaDgp0RNPxQ [Project Introduction] In the aging borough of Queens, New York, we focused on this issue and planned and designed for it. The project takes inspiration from the NORC form of neighborhood, and to change the problem of too much independence, we added elements of Downtown Flushing to form an aging-friendly but all-ages neighborhood with an urban interface on the second floor and a community interface on the second floor.

Data Analysis GIS Mapping Using GIS Mapping to analyze Flushing, a typical area in Queens where seniors gather. It is found that the areas where seniors are more inclined to gather are characterized by well-developed service facilities and amenities, abundant recreational activities, and more open spaces. [Project Introduction] Livability is an important aspect of any urban space, and it refers to the ability of a city to provide its inhabitants with a high quality of life and well-being. Ann Arbor, Michigan, is often regar livable cities in the United States. However, the city is facing some serious issues that threaten its livability. High rents and housing prices are a major concern, indicating a housing shortage i for "Open Your Backyard" seeks to address the housing shortage problem in Ann Arbor in a sustainable, affordable, and community-focused way. By increasing the density of the city throu ADUs and creating small communities hidden in the backyard, we hope to improve the livability of Ann Arbor and promote a more inclusive, sustainable, and harmonious urban environment

9

Opportunities for Ann Arbor Although Ann Arbor faces a very severe housing shortage, there are still large underutilized tracts of land in Ann Arbor. The R1 zoning district (where only one structure is allowed to be built on each property) is divided into four classes, with R1A having a minimum property size of 20,000 square feet and R1D having a minimum size of 5,000 square feet. New homes are not allowed in these large backyards and are underutilized by homeowners.
