FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events - All shifts completed training for ventilation of large structures. Projects - Fire Chief Alan Jones and Deputy Chief Linda Black worked on the SAFER Grant report. Refilled foam tanks on all frontline apparatus. Headquarters staff toured The Dottie event center at City Center Park. Recruit Firefighter Lance Shelton started on day shift. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of the self-contained breathing apparatus mask and regulators continues.
POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY ▶ Monday, August 2 - Chief Scott Gray attended the Management Team meeting at City Hall. Departmental employees assisted with Meals on Wheels. A Command Staff meeting was held to review and pass down information from the Management Team meeting, manpower, the 2022 Budget, and upcoming events. ▶ Tuesday, August 3 - Departmental employees assisted with Municipal Court. ▶ Wednesday, August 4 - Cadet Wilson and Cadet Marcucci are in Week Six of the Police Academy at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, and both passed Firearms Week. Cadet Williams and Cadet Maitland are currently training at the Police Department while awaiting the Police Academy at Fulton County. ▶ Thursday, August 5 - Departmental employees toured The Dottie events center. Chief Gray attended the Peachtree City City Council meeting as they were awarded state accreditation renewal. ▶ Friday, August 6 - Reviewed division weekly reports. ▶ Saturday, August 7 - The Office of Professional Standards conducted testing for new applicants for open positions within the department; 10 applicants will be tested. REMINDER: School has started, so watch for kids loading and unloading buses. Please be mindful of your speed in school zones during school hours.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Review with Fayette County Development Authority staff regarding incentives and future development sites. Prepared recommendation letter for the Southern Conservation Trust grant application. Spoke with Tax Allocation District consultant regarding potential impacts resulting from parcel consolidation. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained the City Cemetery, Stonewall Avenue from Tiger Trail to Bennett Street, West Lanier Avenue from Bennett Street to Tiger Trail, West Lanier Avenue from Grady Avenue to Tiger Trail, West Lanier Avenue from Veterans Parkway to Sandy Creek Road, West Lanier Avenue from the city limits to Gingercake Road, West Lanier Avenue from Burch Road to Grady Avenue, the old city hall property, Grady Avenue and Bradford Square, Beauregard Boulevard, the fountain area, Pye Lake dam, Lafayette Villages, McIntosh Circle, South Glynn Street to Lee Street, Brandywine Boulevard, Yorktown Drive, Gazebo area and corners, Stonewall Avenue from Melissa Segars Way to Jeff Davis Drive, East Lanier Avenue from Jeff Davis Drive to Church Street, Church Street Park, Lee Street, and White Road; trimmed and blew the sidewalk on Georgia Avenue; completed the trash run in the parks and downtown. Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.19 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. Water: Average daily flow of 1.85 million gallons of system demand per day; repaired seven water leaks; and maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
