Met with citizens for a tour of the new City Hall & City Center Park. Attended the September 16 City Council meeting. Projects: Ordered the 25-year retirement plaque for Kristy Johnston. Confirmed ribbon cutting attendees for the Nailed It! DIY event on September 14. Scheduled a ribbon cutting event for Your Hair Spa on October 1. Scheduled an Ethics Board meeting for the end of September. Attended a luncheon for Julie Herbert’s retirement. Registered City Council members and staff for the Atlanta Regional Commission’ awards breakfast in November. FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events - All shifts completed aerial operations training with the Training Officer. Projects - Fire Chief Alan Jones attended the monthly LeaderGov Leadership Cohort. Firefighter Zack Sanders graduated from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Basic Firefighting training program and has been assigned to “A” Shift. SAFER Grant payment request has been submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of SCBA mask and regulators continues. Personnel are working on completing the Pay & Class Study survey. Tower 91 was placed out of service awaiting hydraulic line repair.

Monday, September 13 - Sent reminder for employees to work on the Pay & Class Study survey. Fayetteville Police officers participated in the Atlanta Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charity “Kids Win” Golf Tournament at Whitewater Creek Country Club. Tuesday, September 14 - Chief Scott Gray held a Command Staff meeting and reviewed information from the City Manager’s Management Team meeting. The Command Staff attended the Lexipol policy review meeting. Captain Chad Myers sent a request for letters of interest for an open detective position. Wednesday, September 15 - Chief Gray participated in his LeaderGov training. Thursday, September 16 - Officer Tracey Baker was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to A-Team. Jason Kyle Brown was interviewed and provided a conditional offer for Police Officer. Departmental members attended the Law Enforcement Luncheon at Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Chief Gray attended a Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and Faith & Blue meeting. Departmental employees attended the City Council meeting. Friday, September 17 - Division weekly reports were reviewed. Officers from the Fayetteville Police Department participated in the Knights of Columbus Michael Radcliff and Dennis Crumley Memorial Golf Outing at Crystal Lake Golf Course.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: Updating materials for the Performance Management/ ClearCompany system. Maintaining a case spreadsheet of potential Pandemic cases involving City employees. Continuing to review and update various Administrative Policies for accuracy. Reviewing and updating proposed changes to the Personnel Manual. Opened up the portal so that employees could complete their job assessment for the Compensation and Classification study. Preparing data in order to roll out training module provided to the City by Trident Insurance (our property and casualty carrier). Continuing to work with our benefits broker on data to take medical insurance to market for the upcoming plan year. There are 13 vacant positions: three in Fire Services, two in Public Services, one in Planning & Zoning, and seven in the Police Department.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 46 new, 41 closed. Projects: We are continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the new City Hall building; documents retention continued (working), Building records (scanning in progress), Occupational Tax (document prep and scanning in progress); Court (waiting for sources); Planning & Zoning (document prep in progress); Fleet Maintenance System (revamping); Occupational Tax online form project; Water utilities forms (pre-planning); Water and Public Works work order system (revamping); firewall upgrade (testing); upgrade finance system point of sales (in progress); e-mail upgrade (cleaning e-mails for processing). Meetings: Technology Department staff daily standing meeting; meeting on Police document electronic documents; Basesix on-site walk-through of projects; Public Works Pay & Class Study setup; City Council chambers lighting meeting.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Attended Nailed It! DIY ribbon cutting on September 14. Attended a meeting with a prospective developer of a 38-acre Grady tract. Downtown Development Authority/Main Street: Continued marketing and logistics efforts for 2021 concerts Finalized the fall concert program layout. Rescheduled Completely Unchained to Saturday, October 9. Prepared for the Ghostly Games event held at the Amphitheater September 18. Attended a staff meeting to streamline ticketing and deposits/payables processing. Attended a design review meeting for the amphitheater renovation project.
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cut and maintained cart path on Beauregard Boulevard and Redwine Road, Ramah Road, Bradley Drive, the amphitheater, Lanier Avenue West from the city limits to Gingercake Road and Burch Road to Grady Avenue, Gingercake Road, and Church Street Park. Pulled weeds at City Center Park. Stormwater: Repaired the catch basin and sidewalk on Miracle Lane. Repaired the ditch line at 100 Oak Court. Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.12 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. Water: Average daily flow of 1.65 million gallons of system demand per day; repaired one water leak; and maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
