Many Fayetteville residents took advantage of another successful Shred & Recycle event at City Hall, properly disposing of old papers, glass, and electronics, which will all be recycled. This biannual event is coordinated by the City Clerk’s office, and the October event lined up with the statewide Georgia Cities Week 2020 celebration.
CITY CLERK’S OFFICE ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: City clerk - out of office. Projects: Celebrated GA Cities Week 10/4-10/7; facilitated Shred/Electronic/ Glass recycling event 10/7; reviewed new HB 879 – Alcohol Legislation for possible municipal updates; collected vehicle titles and performed title research for upcoming GovDeals auction; reviewed RFP for new telephone system in new City Hall. FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: All shifts completed training on the 2020 Emergency Response guidebook; Engine 92 participated in a Fire Safety Event at Lowes. Projects: Fire Chief Alan Jones, Deputy Fire Chief Linda Black, and Battalion Chief Chris Peacock worked in Lexipol; Deputy Fire Chief Linda Black attended various webinars throughout the week with Georgia Department of Public Health officials and various other medical associations regarding COVID-19; daily cleaning and sanitizing of self-contained breathing apparatus masks and regulators continues; Battalion Chief Jeff Gable continues to update the COVID-19 Incident Action Plan; Chief Jones and Chief Black attended the Fayette County 911 Communications Board Meeting; Chief Black and Chief Gable attended safety drill at Bennetts Mill Middle School; Chief Jones held follow-up meeting with individual regarding drainage issues at 500 Magnolia Business Park; Chief Jones discussed with the City Engineer drainage issues on Wedgewood Drive, and a stop sign issue in the Woodgate subdivision.
POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY ยก Chief Gray met with Command Staff and covered new business / old business 10/5; started Departmental CPR training 10/5.
ยก Departmental In-Service CPR training continued 10/6. ยก Command Staff met in reference to in-service supervisor training 10/7; Session 3 Citizens Police Academy covered DUI / drugs, traffic, and uniform patrol functions 10/7; Departmental CPR Training ended 10/7.
ยก Attended 911 communications meeting with local public safety directors at Stone Wall Village / new radio system 10/8.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: Continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany; continuing to focus on COVID-19 and federal and state requirements relating to City employees; continuing to review various reports and updates related to COVID-19 in order to remain in compliance; keeping spreadsheet updated for potential City employee pandemic cases; requesting proper leave forms to be completed by employees who are out of work due to COVID-19-related absences; continuing to review and update various Administrative Policies for accuracy; discussed and finalized renewals with Benefits Broker to discuss January 1, 2021 Plan Year. Beginning to plan the upcoming Open Enrollment. Turn Over Report: There were no new hires or terminations. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 35 new, 40 closed. Projects: We are continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the new City Hall building; reviewing the audio/visual plan for the new City Hall; working on the documents retention project; TempDefend installation (Working); Police Department records scanning and storage; researched Fleet Maintenance Systems; replace council chambers lighting; writing phone system RFP; reviewed and responded to numerous e-mails throughout the week having to do with City projects. Meetings: Weekly new City Hall review; Managerplus demo; TempDefend training.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DAVID RAST Meetings: Microsoft Teams meeting with Civil Engineer and Surveyor for Brixmoor to discuss potential subdivision of Del Taco tract 10/5; met with City Planner to discuss potential combination of existing residential zoning districts within the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) 10/5 ; met with City Planner, Director of Public Services, and Falcon Design to review proposed Development Guide 10/5; attended bi-weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor coordination meeting to discuss new City Hall & City Center Park 10/5; attended technical review committee meeting 10/6; met with City Planner, Senior Planner, Development Inspector and SAFEbuilt to review modifications to BS&A process and permitting requirements 10/6; met with City Planner to review new residential zoning districts within the UDO 10/7 & 10/8. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Began preparations of right-of-way reimbursement and mitigation credit documents for hospital-area bridge/trail project; discussions with Piedmont Geotech on environmental considerations for new construction at the old Gym. Main Street: Continued promotions and advance details for October concerts; coordination of private rentals for 10/18 & 11/21; assisted finance staff with extensive deferred revenue data; discussions with state Main Street director on 2020 accreditation requirements. Downtown Development Authority: Continued development of Lester property proposal for board consideration; extensive preparation for Cemetery Walk event 10/16 - 10/17.
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained Jimmy Mayfield Boulevard sidewalk and right-of-way, Bradley Drive, Highway 92 South right-of-way, South Jeff Davis, East Lanier from Jeff Davis to Rosewood Drive, East Lanier from Jeff Davis to Church Street, Stonewall Avenue from Melissa Segars Way to Jeff Davis, Cemetery, Grady Avenue, Bradford Square, Beauregard Boulevard from roundabout to North Glynn Street, Kathi Avenue roundabout, Hood Avenue, 92 North sidewalk and right-of-way, Patriot Park; recycling at City Hall, cleaned up fallen limbs on Hill Street and Booker Avenue; replaced sidewalk sections at 130 River Birch and Fieldstone Way. Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.308 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. Water: Average daily flow of 1.5 million gallons of system demand; repaired six water leaks; performed maintenance on 22 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
