FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: Second round of first-dose COVID-19 vaccines offered to Fire Department employees; Engine 92 provided standby support of the annual “Burning of the Greens” at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Projects: Chief Alan Jones, Deputy Chief Linda Black, Division Chief Keith Harris, Division Chief Mike Matthews, Battalion Chief Jeff Gable, and Battalion Chief Chris Peacock participated in goal alignment training for the ClearCompany system; Chief Black attended various webinars throughout the week with Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and other medical associations regarding COVID-19; Truck 9 has been serviced and is awaiting ladder testing; Battalion Chief Jeff Gable continues to update the COVID-19 Incident Action Plan; weekly COVID-19 report completed to Georgia Department of Public Health; daily cleaning and sanitizing of self-contained breathing apparatus masks and regulators continued; one initial job interview completed for the Firefighter/EMT open positions.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: We are finalizing the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany. We continue to focus on COVID-19 and federal and state requirements as they relate to City employees and on remaining compliant with mandates. We continue to maintain a case spreadsheet of potential pandemic cases involving City employees. We are requesting proper leave forms to be completed by employees that are out of work due to COVID-19 related absences. We continue to review and update various administrative policies for accuracy. We are preparing for updated 2021 W-4 tax forms. We have identified Open Enrollment cleanup items in New World after the first pay period of the new plan year. Turn Over Report: There were two new-hires and three terminations during the period of December 14 through January 10. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 18 new, 58 closed. Projects: We are continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the new City Hall building; reviewing the audio/visual plan for the new City Hall; documents retention continued (working); Fleet Maintenance Systems (waiting); new phone system (RFP review); Court DocuSign project; Occupational Tax online form project; Water and Public Works work order system; ClearCompany employee system (training employees); reviewed and responded to numerous e-mails throughout the week having to do with City projects; Court TV installation scheduled. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Met with the Meridian on the Square development team to discuss cost estimates and financing for their project; attended the Fayette Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast; attended the U.S. Chamber of Commerce webinar on small business assistance, which was passed in the lastest COVID-19 relief package. Main Street: Met with City Manager and Director of Community & Economic Development to review departmental roles and strategy for 2021; attended the City Council meeting regarding the 2021 board appointments; attended the Performance Management goal alignment training session; met with David Mowell to discuss Main Street items located in the Train Depot storage shed; began preparations for the 2021 Summer Concert Series; parepared the yearend documents for the annual Georgia Main Street certification review. Downtown Development Authority: Met with the Burch Elementary School staff to transport Robert Burch exhibit from the Holiday Dorsey Fife Museum to the school; met with the 101 Glynn Street tenant to discuss the recent property appraisal.
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained the City Hall area; picked up the lift truck; completed the trash run on South Jeff Davis Drive, Highway 314 and White Road; worked on maintenance with mowers and trucks; completed the citywide trash run; replaced pole that was hit in an accident on Price Road. Stormwater: Replaced the catch basin top and prepared the sidewalk area in the Clairmont subdivision; replaced the sidewalk in the Clairmont subdivision. Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 1.3 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. Water: Average daily flow of 1.8 million gallons of system demand; repaired 2 water leaks; performed maintenance on 48 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
