CITY CLERK’S OFFICE ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Attended monthly Admin meeting with City Manager and PIO 11/28. Projects: Prepared City Council agenda packet for the 11/5 meeting; answered numerous correspondence from bidders on the GovDeals auction site; discussed with exterminating company for quote on the new City Hall building; working on boards and committees call for applications. FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: Truck 9 delivered Fire Safety education to children at Rising Star Montessori School; shifts completed monthly EMS training at ERTSS; our department showed an increase in call volume involving downed trees and power lines due to Tropical Storm Zeta. Projects: Fire Chief Alan Jones attended the Georgia City-County Management Association virtual keynote session and business meeting; Deputy Chief Linda Black attended various webinars throughout the week with Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and other medical associations regarding COVID-19; weekly COVID-19 reporting completed to DPH; continued daily cleaning and sanitizing of self-contained breathing apparatus and regulators; Battalion Chief Jeff Gable continues to update the COVID-19 Incident Action Plan; departmental command staff and City Manager Ray Gibson held the monthly informational meeting; new hose tester placed in operation; the utility vehicle maintenance was completed, and the vehicle was returned to service.
POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY ยก Chief Scott Gray and Deputy Chief Robert Mask attended a press conference in Upson County announcing the indictments of 46 gang members statewide in association with an investigation that started in Fayetteville. ยก We conducted the Citizens Police Academy graduation. ยก We met with our traffic unit about traffic concerns in two subdivisions. ยก We met with the command staff and City Manager Ray Gibson about future projects within the Police Department.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: Continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany; continuing to focus on COVID-19 and federal and state requirements relating to City employees; continuing to review various reports and updates related to COVID-19 in order to remain in compliance; maintaining a spreadsheet that is updated for potential City employee pandemic cases; requesting proper leave forms to be completed by employees who are out of work due to COVID19-related absences; continuing to review and update various Administrative Policies for accuracy; completed the PlanSource website testing in preparation for Open Enrollment; finalizing the Open Enrollment documents and time frame and finalizing the employee meeting schedule. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 68 new, 52 closed. Projects: We are continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the new City Hall building; reviewing the audio/visual plan for the new City Hall; documents retention continued (working); TempDefend installation (working/testing); Police Department records scanning and storage (waiting on PD); Fleet Maintenance Systems (waiting); write phone system RFP (to be posted next Monday); Court DocuSign project; Occupational Tax online form project; reviewed and responded to numerous e-mails throughout the week having to do with City projects. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Interviewed Livable Centers Initiative bid finalists; attended the Community Development meeting with City Manager Ray Gibson; attended the virtual, bi-weekly meeting with Comprehensive Program Services, Jefferson Browne and Roundtown regarding progress on the gym/bus barn development; discussed Tax Allocation District legislation with City Attorney David Winkle; continued preparation of the right-of-way reimbursement documents for the hospital-area bridge/trail project. Main Street: Final preparations and promotion for the October 30 concert; held the Drivin N Cryin concert October 30; met with The Bear 92.5 FM representatives to discuss options for 2021 concerts; met with Roundtown to discuss options for event management. Downtown Development Authority: Met with an interested buyer for the Lester property and discussed parking options for the site; made final preparations for the Holiday Dorsey Fife Museum closure, which was effective October 30.
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained Church Street Park, the Patriot Park memorial, the Lane Brown Gazebo area, and we blew in front of the buildings, the Lee Street sidewalk, North Jeff Davis Drive, Gingercake Road right of way; blew the top part of the amphitheater, worked on replacing the lifting arms of the Bobcat, cleaned the shop area, completed the trash run on the west side of the city and citywide; took chairs and tables to the amphitheater. Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 1.61 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. Water: Average daily flow of 1.39 million gallons of system demand; repaired 11 water leaks; performed maintenance on 28 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
