CITY CLERK / DEPUTY CLERK ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Preparation for 5/7 City Council meeting; 5/7 City Council meeting. Projects: Handled calls regarding City services, COVID-19, and regulations for businesses opening back up; published public notice for 5/12 Public Services Committee meeting; gathered items for the 5/21 City Council meeting agenda packet; worked on preparation plans for the City Clerk’s office to reopen on 5/18. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 48 new, 44 closed. Projects: Continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the new City Hall building; setting up new Police Department laptops; signature pad for Court software. Meetings: Met with software companies 5/5 and 5/8; met with a security company 5/6; hosted the 5/7 City Council meeting teleconference and Facebook LIVE.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Continued preparation of Alcohol Ordinance amendments for upcoming City Council review; met with Fayette County Historical Society members to locate poignant photos for the new City Hall wall mural; attended teleconference with City staff and Walton Communities to discuss Downtown road network options; reviewed lease terms for potential Bus Barn tenant. Main Street: Attended Art & Architectural Advisory Committee meeting to review commercial deck design; met with contractor to install power/light poles at Amphitheater; attended webinar on COVID-19 impact on entertainment industry and ticketing. COVID-19 COMMUNITY DISCOURSE Social media discussions of the coronavirus pandemic have decreased significantly since a peak a few weeks ago. A significant portion of the chatter on social media regarded which restaurants and other businesses were open and how they were managing social distancing and other health and safety standards.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY ¡ We have seen an increase in Entering Auto cases. Please remember to lock your vehicles. Most of these cases involved unlocked vehicles. ¡ The Police Department is transitioning back to having all employees work from the headquarters building. We will be reopening to the public on Monday, May 18. ¡ The Criminal Investigation Division continues to follow up on leads and evidence obtained from the May 3 shooting incident on Habersham Drive. The information will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office, but at this time, we do not expect any charges to be filed.
FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: The State of Georgia Office of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma conducted an annual onsite inspection for the Fayetteville Fire Department’s First Responder License. No issues were noted.
Projects: Deputy Chief Linda Black attended various webinars throughout the week with Georgia Department of Public Health officials regarding COVID-19. Chief Black and Captain Josh Collins continue to work with our Medical Director Dr. Chris Edens, Fayette County, and the State of Georgia to maintain up-to-date COVID-19 information. Fire Chief Alan Jones and Chief Black attended the Communications Board meeting via Microsoft Teams. Chief Jones continues to work on the upcoming budget. Chief Jones completed the Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response (SAFER) quarterly report. Daily cleaning of self-contained breathing apparatus continues. Division Chief Jeff Gable continues to update the COVID-19 Incident Action Plan. New Kenwood mobile radio installations are nearing completion.

PUBLIC SERVICES CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained Patriot Park and Memorial, Fayetteville City Cemetery, South Jeff Davis Drive, New Hope Road, City Hall, Dickson Springs Park, Police Department Headquarters, Church Street Park, Hood Avenue roundabout island, Kathi Avenue roundabout island, Highway 85 median, Highway 314 median, White Road, Lester Road, Highway 54 median between Gingercake road and Burch Road, Highway 54 West sidewalks from Burch Road to Grady Avenue, Highway 85 South at Broadway Diner shopping center, and Habersham Village. Repaired pothole on Beauregard Boulevard. Ran trash run on Beauregard Boulevard from Paces Drive to Ramah Road. Trimmed and blew turn lane medians on West Lanier Avenue at Togwatee Village Parkway and Veterans Parkway. Laid sod at Patriot Park. Cleaned shop. Stormwater: Repaired catch basin at Greenleaf subdivision entrance. Repaired yard and laid sod from stormwater pipe repair at 570 Cornwallis Way. Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.091 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. Water: Average daily flow of 1.471 million gallons of system demand; repaired three water leaks; performed maintenance on 12 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements. HUMAN RESOURCES NELLA COOPER Personnel: Continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany; reviewed property and casualty renewal quotes; the main focus has been on COVID-19 and Federal and State requirements as it relates to City employees; continuing to participate in various COVID-19 webcasts to remain in compliance; maintaining spreadsheet to track potential City employee pandemic cases; requesting proper leave forms from personnel out of work due to COVID-19; preparing policies for reopening City buildings to the public.
