Fay monitored this rendering and gave details to this main Stadium. This design is the design bid winner and the planning is considered to be very successful since it solve the traffic/ fire emergency/ daylight situation well.
The Architectural Design & Research Institute of Guangdong Province, established in 1952, is one of the oldest comprehensive architectural design institutes in China. It possesses the Class A qualifications for survey and design, engineering consulting, municipal engineering (bridge and tunnel, water supply and drainage), architectural decoration design, intelligent building design, general contract of building projects, engineering construction supervision, and the qualification for real estate development. Since it was listed as one of the strongest of One Hundred National Top Survey and Design Institutes in 1993, it has been among the best in the comprehensive appraisal in the national main architectural design units. The organization of the First Studio, the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Guangdong Province is very straight forward. There are 40-50 people in the studio, half of them are structural engineers. And only around 8-10 of the architectural staff are core design members. Fay was one of the designer who always involved in the competition/bidding team, and go through the full design and construction phase. Fay has been graduated from the Top 5 architectural colleges in China. After Fay was hired by First Studio, the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Guangdong Province on July, 2008, she was supposed to be the core design member who can contribute major ideas in the design process. She decides to continue her graduate study because she want to reconsider the meaning and depth of construction and get focused on one specified field as educational projects. One week before her coming to America to continue her academic research, she had been still involved in very intense construction work.
This building is Fay's representive work. Fay designed the full building with only a few comments from the principal Regretfully this building didn't get built.
