TIRTATEJA IS A BATIK FROM YOGYAKARTA THAT IS BELIEVED THAT PEOPLE WHO WEAR IT WILL APPEAR SHINIER THAN PEOPLE WHO DONT. TIRTATEJA ITSELF HAS THE MEANING OF WATER AND LIGHT

TIRTATEJA IS CHOOSEN AS THE NAME BECAUSE THE CONCEPT THAT IS THE PLAY OF THE LIGHT AND THE ANALOGY OF FLOWING OF WATER IN ITS DESIGNING PROCESS. THE WALL OF THE HOMESTAY ITSELF IS CONSTRUCTED BY WEBBING WHICH IMITATE THE TIRTATEJA PATTERN.

THE FLOW OF MEZANIN PLACEMENT CONTINUES ALL THE WAY TO THE ROOF

column EACH COLUMN CONSIST 4 BAMBOO. THIS PROVIDE THE ROOM NECCESSARY FOR PERMANENT BAMBOO BEAM TO SIT, AND ALSO FOLDABLE MEZANIN’S TO AR ARTICULATE . THE COLUMN OFCOURSE PROFIDE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY REQUIRED FOR THE BUILDING

WALL MEZANIN FOLDABLE AND PERMANENT MEZANIN ALLOWS HOMESTAY TO ACCOMODATE VARIOUS NEEDS OF IT OCCUPANT. THE MEZANIN IS 1.5X1.5 METER IN SIZE AND CAN CREATE 3X1.5 ROOM WHEN FOLDABLE MEZANIN IS USED.

THE WALL MADE OF WOVEN BAMBOO IMITATING TIRTATEJA BATIK PATTERN. WOVEN BAMBOO ALLOWS AIR TO CIRCULATE.

OASIS IS A FERTILE OR GREEN AREA IN AN ARID REGION, USUALLY REFERED AS DESERT. IN THIS CONTEXT THE ARID REGION IS THE CITY. THE CITY OFTEN CONSIDERED CONTRADICT TO THE NATURE, BECAUSE IT IS, AND THIS BUILDING, SERVING AS A COWORKING SPACE, IS MEANT TO BE THE NODE OF THE TWO

THE BUILDING IS DESIGNED TO BE THE OASIS OF ITS SURROUNDING. IT IS ADE OF ENGINEERED WOOD WHICH CAUSE THE BUILDING HAS NEGATIVE CARBON FOOTPRINT IN ITS CONSTRUCTION PHASE. THE BUILDING PRESENTS NATURAL EXPERIENCE ALONGSIDE ITS FUNCTION AS COWORKING SPACE

THE STRUCTURE TAKES EXAMPLE FROM BROCK COMMON TALLHOUSE, WHICH CURRENTLY HOLDS THE RECORD OF THE TALLEST WOODEN BUILDING IN THE WORLD. THE BUILDING STANDS AT 57 METERS. ITS CONSTRUCTED WITH GLUED LAMINATED TIMBER COLUMN AND CROSS LAMINATED TIMBER FLOOR. THE COLUMNS ARE NOT BUILD CONTINUOUSLY FROM BOTTOM TO THE TOP, BUT DIVIDED TO EACH LEVEL. THE CLT FLOOR IS ALSO DIVIDED FOR EVERY GRID WITH THE SIZE OF 5X5 METER

RESIDENTIALS ARE ARRANGED BY RESPONDING TO THE SHAPE OF THE SITE, MAINLY THE EDGE OF THE SITE, THEN THE CENTER OF THE SITE IS DEDICATED FOT COMMERCIAL AND PUBLIC FACILITIES. THE COMMERCIAL AND PUBLIC FACILITIES ZONE IS POSITIONED AT THE HEART OF THE AREA TO CREATE AN EFFECT THAT CENTRALIZING ALL THE ACTIVITIES AT THE CENTER, AVOIDING UNWANTED CROWD AT RESIDENTIAL AREA. IT ALSO PREVENT URBAN SPRAWL THAT THE PUBLIC FACILITIES AND COMMERCIAL AREA BECOMES ANCHOR. THE APARTMENTS ARE BEING USED AS LANDMARK OF EACH CLUSTER, TO GIVE GOOD WAYFINDING TO THE AREA. MOST OF THE ROAD AR STRAIGHT, TO CREATE EFFFICIENT MOVEMENT TO PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICLE.

THE CATALYSY IS A MIXED-USE BUILDING SERVES AS COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL. THE BUILDING IS CONCEPTED AS TRANSFORMATION CATALYST OF REGIONS ORDERLINESS. THE BUILDING SERVES AS A MEDIATOR OF TWO ZONES OF DIFFERENT FUNCTION, COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL. BUILDING CONNECTS THE TWO ZONES WITHOUT COMPROMISING EACH OTHER’S REQUIREMENT CRITERIA. THE SITE, NOT INCLUDING THE BUILDING, IS PERMEABLE FROM ALL SIDES, WITHOUT ANY FENCES, AND OPEN FOR 24 HOURS AND ALLOWS STREET VENDORS TO RENT AND OPERATE. THE SITES SER SERVES AS CORRIDOR BETWEEN TWO DIFFERENT ZONES

SERVING AS THE CATALYST OF THE REGION, THE BUILDING SITE STAND AS CONNECTOR OF CIPAERA STREET AND AHMAD YANI STREET. THE BUILDING IS PEDESTRIAN ORIENTED, AS THE SITE PLANNING MAXIMIZED THE ROOM FOR PEDESTRIAN. THE COMMODITIES THAT’S BEING TRADED IN THE COMMERCIAL AREA COMPLEMENTS WITH COMMODITIES OF EXISTING COMMERCIAL, WHICH INCLUDE JEWELLERY, SO THE BUILDING WILL PROVIDE FASHION RELATED COMMODITIES. THE BUILDING ALSO SERVES AS PUBLIC SPACE, AS IT PROVIDE COURTYARD IN THE MIDDLE FOR SURROUNDING RESIDENT. THE TOWER MASSING PSYCHOLOGICALLY SUGGEST THE USER THAT THE COURTYARD IS THE TO CENTER OF ACTIVITIES. NOWADAYS IN INDONESIA RIVER OFTEN BECOMES A NEGATIVE SPACE OF A CITY, BECAUSE THEY DONT SERVE URGENT PURPOSE LIKE THEY DID IN THE PAST. THIS PROJECT SOLE PURPOSE IS RIVER UTILIZATION

RIVER THAT ORIGINALLY IS THE PLACE WHERE CIVILIZATION BEGIN HAS LOST ITS RELEVANCE IN RECENT YEARS. THE BRIDGE IS MADE TO INJECT NEW FUNCTION TO THE RIVER SO IT CAN ACCOMODATE ACTIVITIES FOR THE PEOPLE, SO IT WONT BE A “CITY’S BACKYARD” AS IT IS TODAY IN A LOT OF CITIES. BANDUNG ZONING RESEBLES LINEAR PATTERN SINCE THE BEGINING OF ITS DEVELOPMENT. THIS GIVES THE CONSECUENCE THAT CAUSE THE HOUSING REGIONS ARE BEING “SQUEEZED” BEHIND OTHER ZONES WHICH SERVES MORE PRODUCTIVE FUNCTION LIKE COMMERCIAL ETC. THESE “BACKYARD” HAVE UNCONTROLLED GR GROWTH THAT LEADS TO THE DECREASE OF PRODUCTIVITY. THESE HOUSING AREA ARE BEING ISOLATED BY COLOSSAL BUILDING THAT BECOMES THE FACE OF THE CITY, LEAVING THE HOUSING AREA BEHIND. THIS BRIDGE SERVES AS A NEW ANCHOR TO ATTRACT VISITORS FROM MAIN ROAD

SITE ANALYSIS THE BRIDGE CURRENTLY PLAYS A ROLE AS THE ONLY ACCESS OF RW 3 AND R2 4 KAMPUNG BRAGA TO INTERACT. RW 3 LIES NEAR BANCEUY STREET AND RW 8 LIES NEAR BRAGA STREET. BOTH OF THE TWO AR INCLUDED IN ECONOMY STRATEGIC REGION OF BANDUNG STR CITY, WHICH DICTATE THESE TWO HAVE DEPENDENCY TO EACH OTHER. THIS GIVES A CONSEQUENCE TO THE ROLE OF THE BRIDGE AS A CONNECTOR OF THE TWO BECOMES URGENT

ISSUE RIVER DISFUNCTION CIKAPUNDUNG RIVER IS A RIVER THAT IS A RENOWNED RIVER THAT IS LOCATED IN BANDUNG. ITS STREAM FLOWS FOR 28 KILOMETER SLASHING THROUGH THE HEART OF BANDUNG. ITS AREA COVERS 154 SQUARE METER. IT CROSSES 11 SUB-DISTRICTS IN 2 DISTRICS A CITY, WHICH ARE BANDUNG DISTRICT, WEST BANDUNG DISTRICT AND BANDUNG CITY

ENCLAVED AREA THE LINEAR PATTERN IN BANDUNG ZONING HAS BEEN THE WAY IT IS SINCE 1856. THIS LINEAR PATTERN DEVELOPS THROUGH TIME ADAPTING TO ACTIVITIES IT ACCOMODATES LIKE TRADING ETC. AS THE PRODUCTIVE ZONE DEVELOPS IT CAUSE THE HOUSING REGION BEHIND IT BECOMES ENCLAVED AREA AS CONSEQUENCE OF ITS ISOLATION. THESE HOUSING AREA DIDINT GENERATE PRODUCTIVITY LIKE THE COMERCIAL AREAS DID SO ITS DEVELOPMENT IS NOT VERY “ATTRACTIVE” FOR AUTHORITIES TO MONITOR WHICH LEAD THESE AREA GROWS UNCONTROLLABLY, WHICH WORSEN THE UNPRODUCTIVITY OF THE REGION

RIVER WITH ADEQUATE SIZE CAN SERVE AS A ROUTE OF TRANSPORTATION MODE SUCH AS BOAT ETC, DEPENDING ON THE DIMENSION OF THE RIVER ITSELF. BY INJECTING TRANSPORTATION FUNCTION TO THE RIVER CAN TRIGGERS THE RIVER MAINTENANCE BY PEOPLE AND AUTHORITY, AS THE RIVER NO LONGER REMAIN A NEGATIVE SPACE OF THE CITY. WHILE GOVERNMENT BUILDING USUALLY WERE DESIGNED WITHOUT CONSIDERING ITS AESTHETICAL VALUE, THE BUILDING IMPLEMENTS VERTICAL ELEMENTS LIKE ART DECO ARCHITECTURE WHICH IS THE ARCHITECTURE THAT BANDUNG CITY WELL KNOWN OF HOSTING. THE TRINITY IS A 60 STORY TOWER CONSISTING 3 IDENTICAL VOLUME. IT IS A SINGULAR VOLUME WHICH SUBSTRACTED AT ITS CENTER CREATING ATRIUM WITH THE HEIGHT OF THE BUILDING ITSELF, 300 METERS. THE BUILDING USES CORE AND MEGA COLUMN AS ITS STRUCTURE, AND THE TREE MASES ARE CONNECTED BY THE GIGANTIC BRIDGE STRUCTURE, TO PROVIDE REQUIRED STURDINESS FOR THE TOWER

THE BUILDING’S PURPOSE IS TO SOLVE SOCIAL GAP PROBLEM BETWEEN ITS PEOPLE. LOCATED AT “ULIN PARK” WHICH CONNECTS SEVERAL HAMLETS, THE BUILDING TARGET THESE PEOPLE FROM THE HAMLETS TO BE ITS USERS. THE PARK DIDNT SOLVE THE SOCIAL GAP PROBLEM SO THE BUILDING TRIES TO HELP BY INJECTING NEW FUNCTION TO THE PARK, AS A COLLABORATIVE SPACE. THE BUILDING IS EQUIPPED BY ROOM NECESSARY FOR HANDS ON ACTIVITY LIKE CARPENTRY, OR THINKING ACTIVITIES LIKE DISCUSSION ETC. THIS MADE POSSIBLE BY FLEXIBLE BY OPEN LAYOUT FLOOR PLAN.
