Dear Church Family,
From Your Being pastor of First Baptist Fairhope is a position of great honor. It is a place of tremendous influence for the kingdom Pastor’s of God and is given with amazing trust. I have been so blessed to have served in this position for almost 15 years. In these years, you have blessed Susan and me in so many ways and we are truly grateful. Heart Scripture says that everything in this world has a beginning and an ending. For me, the time to end my position as your pastor has come. Therefore, I plan to retire on May 31, 2016 and step down as the servant leader of First Baptist Fairhope. It is a decision that has not been easy to make but I feel God’s direction in making this decision. You are a Jerry M. Henry, Ph.D congregation that has loved us and we have loved you. That makes leaving doubly hard to do.
Pastor jhenry@fbcfairhope.org
However, the time between my leaving and the new pastor coming will be a busy time. After May 31, I am still here to serve as a resource as well as be available to serve as interim pastor, if the Pastor Search Committee desires. God will still guide us to bring people to Christ, encourage those in the Lord, and move our church in the right direction. I have given my heart to this church and will continue to be there as long as you want me to serve. May God guide us as we step out into the exciting days ahead; and may our ending together be even better than our beginning together. Your pastor, Jerry Henry Psalm 16:8 NOTE: Susan Henry shared this past Sunday as well. The video clip of both are online at fbcfairhope.org/media.
