FroM Your Pastor’s heart jhenry@fbcfairhope.org
The first Sunday night in May was spent at the bay. What a special time of church fellowship! The hot dogs were good, the singing was also good , and our time together had the atmosphere of God’s approval. God has certainly blessed us with the signature of His creation as we sat at the water’s edge and heard God’s Word. This coming Sunday is Mother’s Day. The Bible is full of stories of how Godly mothers influenced the work of God in the world in which they lived. There is no greater example of our Father’s love for us than the love a mother has for her child. With the changes that have happened over the ages, this is one aspect that has never changed - the amazing influence and blessing of a Godly mother. Any child who has the gift of a Christian mother is truly gifted indeed. This Thursday is the National Day of Prayer. Our church is the host church for our community and several pastors have been invited to participate in the program. Also invited are the mayor and chairman of the City Council. There is certainly no greater need for our nation at this time than for Christians to ask God for His work to be accomplished in our National, State and local government. I Chronicles 7:14 calls upon God’s people to pray for God’s work. Come and be a part of the service. It starts at 12:00. Over the coming two weeks, the sermons will be centered on people who encountered Jesus and the difference He made in their lives. Jesus encounters are essential regardless of where we are in life. Our Children’s Bible Drill Team has made great accomplishments this year. There was a record number of them in the Associational Drill and nine of them went on to compete in the District Drill. Our Children’s Ministry makes learning God’s Word a priority and fun at the same time. That makes this pastor happy. Thank God for our Children’s Choir program and how God has blessed us through the singing of these kids. The workers put so much effort into encouraging these kids through Christian songs. Also the Learning Tree has been an exciting ministry in our church and serves as a blessing to our community. This has been a good year for the Learning Tree and we look forward to an even more exciting year next year. Graduation is Thursday Night. May God bless each of you, Your Pastor, Jerry

Hats off to our TLT Teachers for an outstanding school year!
Thank you for going above and beyond your calling. One teacher noted this: “Thank you Pearson for sharing.” His reply: “It’s just what I do!” What a difference we could make if we all took that approach in sharing the love of Christ. Lynn Carroll, Director, The Learning Tree
Way to Go Bible Drillers! The Children’s Ministry Team of Bible Drillers had great scores from the Associational Drill held here at First Baptist Fairhope. Nine of our children went on to District Drill held in Mobile a couple of weeks ago. You’ll see this team in the picture here. Those kids are: K2 Nelson, Trey Street, Noah Trull, Coleton Smith, Kylie Levens, Anna Madeline Carrick, Belle Myrick, Kate Bezeredi, and Olivia Beasley. You know this represents a lot of hard work by the kids and by the great leaders we have in Bible Drill. Our children are doing an incredible work of hiding God’s Word in their hearts. This will continue to influence them throughout their lives.
