90-DAY CHALLENGE SUMMARY

In January, I challenged us to read through the New Testament in a 90-day schedule. We talk about the Bible, use verses from it, and have a general idea of what Jesus said and did, but many have never read it. So, I asked us to spend 10 minutes a day—just 10 minutes—to actually read it. Every week, I heard peoples' stories.

I hope you had an experience too. What we are reading is not just another book. These are the experiences and observations of the eyewitnesses of Jesus. The book didn’t just drop from heaven. Peter wrote from prison. Paul was chased out of a town and recorded his experience. Matthew’s life had been

changed by a Jesus who called him to leave his tax stand behind and follow. We can’t read these accounts without our hearts being confronted and encouraged.

It affects how you think, work, and play. The more you read, the more Jesus calls out to you to live and love like Him. I think that’s the essence of following Jesus—you pay attention to what He does and says and you find that you’re making choices more like He does. And the more of us who allow Jesus to affect us, the more people see HIM in us.

That’s the nature of being His follower!
