Background: Stockholm Green Digital Finance was launched at the G20 GreenInvest Meeting in Berlin in May 2017. The centre was established to serve as an independent innovation platform and test bed to demonstrate creative solutions for scaling green finance and investment. Stockholm Green Digital Finance is a not-for-profit, whose mission is to accelerate sustainable finance and investment through fintech innovations.
Objectives: Stockholm Green Digital Finance advances green fintech solutions through three work streams. They aim to build awareness through seminars, workshops and dialogue. à They collaborate with partners, both in Sweden and internationally, both established acà tors and new entrants, and exchange ideas, knowledge and connections to support acceleration of green finance.
SGDF also runs their own innovation where they practically demonstrate solutions to key à barriers through new technologies including blockchain.Their key innovation project is the Green Assets Wallet - the world’s first blockchain platform for green bond validation and impact reporting.
Priorities for 2020: After two years of intensive development, the SGDF launched the complete Green Assets Wallet in December 2019. Going into 2020, they look forward to harvesting the efforts of this work, making good use of this independent platform by supporting the market more broadly in scaling sustainable finance and investments with measurable impact for our planet and societies.
