FC HalifaxTown SPONSORSHIP, HOSPITALITY AND EVENTS BROCHURE

taking business and pleasure to new heights

FC HalifaxTown welcome... As we enter our fifth season, FC Halifax Town is delighted to present you with our latest sponsorship, hospitality and events brochure. As a welcoming, ambitious and professional Football Club, we are keen to showcase a series of opportunities to engage with us. Whether you seeking to pursue commercial benefits through advertising and sponsorship or simply want to entertain corporate clients or friends, we hope you will share in our 'experience' and the excellent facilities at the Shay Stadium. As members of the highly successful 'Football Conference', we present in this brochure a range of opportunities to help you enjoy all that is best in football, whilst personalising any event to suit your requirements and of course budget! Hopefully, the details outlined in the following pages will provide you with an insight as to what we are all about. Be assured, everything is presented in a first class manner and you can be confident that even your most important clients will be pleased with what we are able to offer and impressed that you have invited them. Your friends will also be delighted! Mixing business and pleasure has never been easier. FC Halifax Town is a very progressive club, two promotions, one play-off position and bringing Championship Club Charlton Athletic to Halifax in the FA Cup all in four seasons, is testimony to the progress we are making. Please, be involved and help us on our journey.

building the future... Ever since the Club was formed, one of our primary goals has been to develop the football fans of the future and enable them to interact with their local Club. Times have changed so quickly over the last few years, with less school sport, so many varied sporting options made available through media and there is always the exposure via various television channels and multimedia of Premier League football. This can result in youngsters perhaps choosing to support a team, miles away from where they live, without many opportunities to go and see that 'chosen' team. Through our own internal 'Community Group' and with the support of our community sponsor, Sovereign Healthcare, we have created so many opportunities for youngsters and teenagers to be involved with FC Halifax Town. The club 'Open Day' prior to the start of every season, allows our younger fans to come and meet the team, watch training and look around the stadium and perhaps choose a new replica shirt. They can join the Junior Blues and partake in various events during the season. We provide various free ticket offers to local schools and junior teams, as well as organising an annual five a side competition which runs throughout the season, taking place at half time of each home game, culminating in a grand final. We have some fantastically well supported mascot packages, where the youngsters receive a brand new full replica kit, meet the players in the dressing room and go out on the pitch prior to the game. It is great to see so many younger fans now choosing their local Football Club as their number one choice, nothing wrong in having a Manchester Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea as their second!!

a word from the manager... I am delighted to say a few words from a manager's perspective, this being my fourth season. With football being as it is, I am proud that I have maintained my position so long. So pleased that in that time we have enjoyed a couple of promotions, reached the play-offs last season, as well as having successfully negotiated four rounds of the FA Cup to reach the First Round Proper and draw Charlton Athletic in a live televised ITV game, then leaders of League One of the Football League and ultimately promoted as Champions. A great day for all concerned involved with the Club, generating much needed revenue but importantly creating a wonderful profile for the Club and exposure for our vital sponsors. I am well aware of the 'chicken and egg' scenario of football, in fact any sport. If you win and play attractive football, more fans will come through the turnstiles and revenues increase. The opposite to that is less success and fewer people come and watch and so revenues drop. The one constant has to be income streams generated by off-field activities and the vitally important willingness of sponsors to back the Club and help us along the way and help push us all the way to the Football League. I know, we have to keep winning, but in anticipation 'thank you' for your support too. Together we can progress.

commercial notes... One area that is never dull in a Football Club, is the Commercial Department and ours is no exception. Nigel Walker who has joined the 'Shaymen' this season is already appreciating how varied the job is, challenging but so rewarding when people show their appreciation for what we do. Everything we try to do is of the highest standard and the opportunities to support the Football Club are numerous. Whether you are a business wanting to entertain clients you can do so with every confidence, as the facilities and hospitality are right up there with the best. It can be a family celebration or a young mascot for the day, we provide a professional yet fun and welcoming atmosphere, to help make that day a special one.

We are happy to provide advertising options and links with our site.

digital opportunities and match highlights... Our website is an outstanding performance area for the Football Club along with 'Shaymen Player' in conjunction with the Football League (Fli). With national and international advertisers, the site is a 'HUB' of information relating to FC Halifax Town. Our media team work collaboratively with Huddersfield University to provide content that engages our supporters and engenders potential revenue growth for sponsors, who use this channel. Attracting a broad demographic audience, this medium may well be a serious marketing consideration to support brand strategy and ultimately drive growth. The website is going from strength to strength and in certain cases out performing a number of larger Football League Clubs. At the same time, we are delighted to strengthen the Club's community engagement in a very pro-active relationship with Huddersfield University, in which there is a win, win situation of a very capable resource for the Club and an opportunity for the students to gain outstanding on the job training and work experience in their chosen field. This partnership has allowed students to go on and achieve excellent degree results. We are enjoying over five million page views and averaged nearly

24,000 visitors a month over the season and these figures demonstrate the strength of our site and the value to potential advertisers and sponsors. The demand for 'Shaymen Player' is staggering and again has shown an upward trajectory, with ever increasing number of subscribers. You can be in New Zealand, Europe or simply away from home, yet still enjoy match highlights of your favourite team along with commentary. Great goals, great play and we believe the subscription at ÂŁ37.99 by direct debit or ÂŁ42.99 by credit card for twelve months is great value, or payment by month. In addition, the site comes alive on match day, with team news, updates, pre and post-match interviews, event items and it links with the Shaymen Player service. Minute by minute action direct to your PC or mobile phone is fantastic for any fan. It's informative but also has the supporter element at heart and can get emotional depending on the final score! Without doubt, whatever message you're trying to convey, whatever information you're looking for regarding FC Halifax Town, the official website is the 'HUB'. Why not call Nigel Walker on 07852 207622 or email him on nigelwalker@fchalifaxtown.com and see if we can help you with your advertising requirements.

Special Events annual sporting dinner... These events certainly catch the imagination and the 'Sporting Dinner' is now established as one of the premier events in our calendar. Even though each year we get close to having to turn people away due to available space, we never relax in our quest to further improve the event or raise the bar in terms of the quality. Professionally hosted by well-known sports tv broadcaster, John Helm, we have enjoyed some really marvellous speakers. In previous years we have been royally entertained by International Referee Graham Poll and unknown to many, Dr. Kevin Jones, oh, how the latter brought the house down! Geoff Miller, former England cricketer and current Chairman of the England Test Selectors. He enthralled the audience with his tales, although with a cricket bias, nonetheless entertaining as it was all about characters in daily life. David Gunson, a former air traffic controller, what a character and if you listened too closely, you would never fly again!! We look forward to providing some great characters for the next Sporting Dinner, so watch for the announcements and make your reservation early to avoid disappointment. As always with such events, we have an auction, but it is not just any auction, we arrange prizes that excite and are hard to get hold of. Club President Bob Holmes manages to pull a few rabbits out of the hat, whether it is a Saturday at the Lords Test, Centre Court Tickets during the second week at Wimbledon, which included Andy Murray last year, Take That concerts, Royal Ascot, VIP Days at the Superbike Championships and so many more. We hope your appetite is whetted and we hope to see old and new faces at what promises to be another memorable evening.

Special Events end of season player awards... Like the 'Sporting Dinner', approaching 500 attendees, this is a great event for the fans of the Club and companies wanting to reward staff and clients alike. This is a special night, as the players are able to attend with their partners (they miss the 'Sporting Dinner' due to being mid-season) come along for what is a great atmosphere and a top quality event. Whether, we are celebrating promotion, play-offs or simply a generally good season, the atmosphere takes some beating, with another wonderful guest speaker list. Again the auction and raffle prizes dazzle, as a great evening is had by all. A great night out and not to be missed!

Annual Golf Day drive away in style... Now very well established in our annual calendar and a regular sell-out, we are delighted by the response to the event. Normally held in June, we are hoping for a really bright sunny day for the forthcoming event. It provides a great opportunity for the Club to engage with a different group of sporting enthusiasts and build great relationships for the future. We are totally committed to making FC Halifax Town more than just football, we want the link to be a fun experience of a quality to be thoroughly enjoyed and for people to want to come back for more! In four balls, we create a team competition and it is very well received by the competitors. What a shame that no-one has so far won the BMW and MINI on offer at the two 'Holes in One', but one person so nearly did, hitting the flag. It will happen one day! Starting with bacon butties and a drink, refreshments going round, finishing with drinks in the bar, an excellent four course meal, guest speaker and prize giving, it is a truly first class day. The only thing we can't order is the weather, but hopefully June is kind to us? There are plenty of opportunities to sponsor on the day and get your name across. Whether it is as the overall event sponsor, hole sponsorship, longest drive, nearest the pin or the hole in ones, there is something for every budget. Whether you want to come as a team, as a couple or as an individual, simply let us know and we will do the rest. Contact Nigel Walker on 07852-207622

Junior Blues for the future of fc halifax town... Since the earlier launch of the 'Junior Blues', we are delighted to welcome so many youngsters in to the fold, as the future fans for this Football Club. The future of any Sports Club are the young people who get involved from an early age and Football is no exception, in the hope they become lifetime supporters. Today's media provides all sorts of distractions, be it different sports, console games or simply the profile on the television screen of a Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea. International stars come straight in to the home, the Rooneys, Gerrards or famous foreign players are of course a big attraction, however, for the younger fans in particular, the opportunity to go see these Clubs play, or get up 'close' is not so easy. Involvement in a local Club, wearing the local team's kit is a much more stimulating experience. An involvement with the 'Junior Blues, allows a tour of the dressing rooms prior to a game, meeting the players, getting autographs and having photographs taken along with other trips and events. It means so much more, meeting your own 'Town' hero and then watching these players on the pitch. It's great. Being a mascot, helping as a ball boy or girl are all great experiences and along with a number of events held through the season, plus special offers, where better to start than being a Shayman or girl and becoming a Junior Blue? Our community sponsor 'Sovereign Healthcare' has supported us in our offer of free tickets in to Schools and Junior Clubs. We cannot stress the importance of getting a season ticket, either as an Under 7 or as an Under 12. We offer a FREE season tickets for the Under 7s and for the Under 12s, a season ticket costs just £59 or the equivalent of £2.80 per game. This method is so much more cost effective than paying £2 and £5 respectively at the gate, match by match. It is a great fun experience being involved with FC Halifax Town. JOIN UP NOW! What's stopping you?

In The Community our club seeks to involve and be involved... Ever since the formation of the Club, FC Halifax Town has striven to ensure that involvement in community based activity is at the forefront. Establishing a dedicated 'Community Group' so many initiatives and activities take place within a busy calendar. To this end, we are also delighted with the support from Sovereign Healthcare who, through their Club sponsorship, help facilitate the ongoing progress of these initiatives as our community partner. We have supported numerous charities in joint activities with local Supermarkets and the sale of raffle tickets at Christmas and Easter. We have provided a number of charities to hold 'bucket collections' on match days. A new activity has included providing some match tickets for families of people in care with the Dales Mental Unit at Calderdale Hospital and the Forget Me Not Childrens’ charity, whilst providing schools and junior sports clubs with complimentary tickets. The Management and Playing Squad always visit the Children's Hospital around Christmas, cheering the kids up and distributing some goodies all in their own time. In conjunction with the Princes Trust, we have recently organised and hosted a week long 'teach-in' for teenagers who have hit difficult times. Match day entertainment includes the Sovereign Healthcare sponsored half-time five a side competition which goes from strength to strength, involving junior clubs and primary schools and will continue again this season. Already oversubscribed, we will come up with other ways for these youngsters to be involved, certainly the fans and the participants love it. We are also indebted for the support of the ball boys and ball girls, who enjoy a great day out at the Shay Stadium on match day. Having received a grant from the Calderdale Community Foundation, the Club is able to allow local groups showcase their talent by playing either at half time or pre-match, before a home game. With two junior clubs, the Junior Blues for fans up to 12 and the Teen Blues for the older ages, the youngsters are really getting involved with their local team. Events such as an away trips, Easter saw the giving of eggs, with thanks to Nestle. The Club's official mascot 'Freddy the Fox' has been very busy appearing all over Calderdale, at the Halifax Gala, a local Fire Station Open Day, School Fun Days as well as around the ground on match days. He will be making speeches next! Thank goodness he wasn't driving the open top BMW on Gala Day! All great fun and trying to bring a smile to everyone and linking with the football Club
