Besides, it’s all about the holiday spirit, and the glow that magni�ies when one willfully acts to bene�it and enhance the glow in another real person, someone you know or can get to know over time. You can’t do better than to deepen those bonds of community that derive from deciding to keep your holiday shopping dollars close to home.

ew Orleans Cajun Seafood forsakes the rustic frills of other Cajunstyle restaurants and focuses entirely on the food. The menu offers an extensive variety of fried seafood, including soft shell crab, shrimp, catfish, and oysters. While the fried fare is sure to satisfy the casual customer, New Orleans Cajun Seafood specializes in all sorts of boiled shellfish, from snow crab legs to shrimp, but their specialty is crawfish. Shellfish from the boiled menu come in two-pound heaps and is served in a foil container and doused in the customer’s chosen sauce. Options include a butter sauce, a garlic sauce, their special Cajun sauce, and the “New Orleans Mixin’� which is a tasty combination of all three. Foxes Music Celebrates 60 Years in Business

013 marks the 60th year that Foxes Music has been in business in the City of Falls Church. As we contemplate this milestone, we admittedly feel a certain measure of pride, but mostly we feel a deep sense of gratitude to our customers for all the business they have given us over the years.
Dorothy and Ralph “Curly” Fox first opened Foxes Music on January 20, 1953, President Eisenhower’s Inauguration Day. It began as a dance studio and music school with a small retail operation on the side. Mrs. Fox taught dance lessons while Curly, a local drummer, handled the instrumental side. Tragically, he died only a year after the store opened, leaving his wife to persevere on her own.
Mrs. Fox turned out to be a shrewd businesswoman indeed, who grew Foxes into one of the most respected music stores in the area, with an unparalleled selection of sheet music and a booming school rental business. In 1988, Mrs. Fox sold the business to Jim Edmonds, an entrepreneur with a love of music who had recently retired from the World Bank. Jim decided not only to preserve Mrs. Fox’s basic business model, but to expand it dramatically, greatly increasing the instrument department and moving the store to its present location on S. Washington St. in 1993. In 2006, Jim sold the business to his two longtime managers: Kevin Landes and Eric Wagnerand Marie Desrosiers, the store’s bookkeeper. This kept the store’s continuity unbroken, as Eric and Kevin had both started with Mrs. Fox and had been managing the shop for decades.
Since buying the business, we have strived to be careful stewards of Mrs. Fox’s basic vision: to be an education oriented business, offering superlative service to the area’s music students, teachers, and performing arts community. We feel strongly that independent brick and mortar businesses are a core part of the city’s unique character, and work hard to play whatever role we can to make Falls Church the kind of place people want to visit, shop in and reside. We want to extend a heartfelt thanks to all who have supported us these past 60 years and hope to be here for many more.

Argia’s Holiday Special: Pork tenderloin, wrapped in pancetta, and grilled, drizzled with a sweet Amaretti sauce, served with a delectable diced Portobello, pancetta, and potato hash with a side of grilled asparagus. What you will need: • 10 oz. pork tenderloin cut into four pieces • 1 medium Portobello • 4 oz. diced pancetta • 1 oz. Amaretto liquor • 2 oz. crushed Ameretti cookies • ½ teaspoon black pepper • 3 oz. extra virgin olive oil
• 4 slices of pancetta • 1 Yukon Gold potato • 5 oz. asparagus • 2 oz. unsalted butter • ½ teaspoon kosher salt • 3 oz. veal stock

First, let’s make the sauce. Take a skillet, place on low heat and melt 2 oz. of unsalted butter. Drop 2 oz. of finely crushed Amaretti cookies into the melted butter. Stir until a desired thick texture. Add 1 oz. Amaretto liquor and stir on low heat for one minute. Pour 3 oz. veal stock into the mixture and continue to cook on a simmer, for five minutes.
Now, let’s make the hash. Dice a Yukon Gold potato. Pour 3 oz. extra virgin oil into a pan on low heat. Drop the diced potatoes in and cook for three minutes. Now, add 4 oz. diced pancetta and continue to cook for three more minutes. Finally add your diced medium Portobello and cook for an additional three minutes.
Let’s move on to the meat. Cut your 10 oz. pork tenderloin into four even pieces. Wrap each individual piece with a slice of pancetta. Once complete, skewer the pieces together. Rub ½ teaspoon black pepper and a ½ teaspoon kosher salt evenly on the skewer. For a chef recommended medium temperature, grill on medium heat for 12 minutes. Finally take 5 oz. of asparagus and grill on medium heat for 5 minutes. The last step is to sit down and ENJOY!
