FORTIUSA DAMHA In my opinion, architecture has became a part of our living. Architecture has showed us how a culture can be broadly expressed and absorbed. I believe that the value of a culture can be enhanced through its architecture. On my study through architecture, I developed a particular interest in humanism architecture. Besides, I am passionate in developing terms of architectural design, graphic design, and architectural visualization. I am eager to keep improving my skills.

Today's these students often isolate themselves from the environment they live in. As their maturity grows, they try to live independently and meet all the necessities of their own life by themselfs. Some people had their busy schedule. Going home early in the morning, the boarding house seems to be just a place to rest after a full day of activities on campus. Or it could be just a place to take a small break between their activities.

Students often don't bother taking boarding houses. They tend to take boarding houses with the less but important criteria: safe, quiet, low humidity levels (as they not-so-often to be there), close to ATMs, and close to places to eat.

Limited availability of lands makes vertical housing in the form on flats becomes one of the best option. However, it is not uncommon for the existence of these buildings to have a considerable impact for it’s surrounding environment. The self-sustain concept is expected to make the building independent in terms of use and processing of energy waste, so that user activities there can continue and not be disturbed by conditions around the building.

Main city’s terminal forced to be moved to city’s edge, and the old ones degradate to lower type. Old terminal site is transformed into stores escpecially the main terminal, it transformed into a mall.
The market segment has changed. Plaza visitors nowadays are not terminal users. It is also not a coincidence that the current position of the building is the Terminal Getas - Kudus Plaza Bitingan Market in sequence. The station that was originally used by all users in the area decreased to be used only by Bitingan Market visitors. Currently, the bus terminal (and it’s surrounding area) condition isn’t well organized. Some store complex were built yet didn’t show a significant result. Some of them were affected by the decline in visitor numbers. The integration among those three hotspot is needed, especially to minimize gap. The integration is created by maximizing the circulation of both pedestrians and riders as the main key to increase the activity there.

A GROWING HOUSE FOR MILLENIALS Things will never be perfect, it is our goal to create your own perfection.
Competition Entry Perumnas Idea Competition – Rumah Tumbuh untuk Milenial Perum Perumnas Design in charge : Bima Surya Limenta House are home for it’s owner, in this case Millennial. A millennial has the intention to more freely express his passion. “The Imperfection” will give millennial the freedom to customize their space and style, so that optimal comfort can be achieved.
easy to use
easy to develop
The millennial generation is a generation of freedom, a complex generation and highly unpredictable. On this basis we apply the concept of easy to custom, easy to develop. “The Imperfection” blends the home's incompleteness into a blank canvas for its owner. The house later will be easily customized according to the character and nature of the occupants through a simple house template.

HOUSE NEEDS AND SPECIFICATION The competition requires us to design two types of house, the 36' and 45'. The Imperfection is a house that doesn’t distinguish the facade, both for the 36' and 45'. The only difference is only on their room configuration, a mezzanine.

HOUSE MASSING Basically the building mass is divided into 2 parts, let’s call it red part and blue part. This division is then continued by configuring the front facade into 2 harmonious parts. The front facade is an association of minimalist and bold forms for the house. That’ll make the facade an actual representation for the house’s interior. These massing also affected the composition of the room contained in it. The mass section in blue part contains a public space zone, a zone that can be accessed by anyone. Furthermore, the mass section in red part contains private space zone, such as the kitchen and master bedroom.

THE BREATHING COMMUNAL 27 The Breathing Communal
28 The Breathing Communal
In addition to being a necessity for every living being to restore energy that has been depleted, breathing can also be interpreted as an activity to feel the natural atmosphere around it. Architecture provides a place for humans to breathe, take a break back to our nature, conveyed through a communal concept of localism and authenticity by accentuate the dialogue.
3
main concept
localism architecture as direct sociocultural representation of it’s surroundings
authenticity
dialog
architecture as media for bold and raw localism overwiew, not a modification or transformation of existing value
architecture as a social interaction place for it’s users and surroundings
Between their activities, humans as living creatures need to take a short break to replenish their energy, both physically and psychologically, both sacred and profane. Nature with it’s green environment can provide optimal energy recovery process. The nature existence can be felt from many different ways like how the sun touch, the wind gusts, and the color-texture of it’s own. These tastes will be conveyed architecturally through room spatial configuration, mass opening and formations, as well as the use of local materials. Good nature application will also reduce negative impacts on it’s environment, bringing the building to live in a sustainable manner.

Gerbang dan Alun-Alun Gate and roundabout section Area : 101 m²
Using bamboo as it main materials, natural forms are represented by their gates and roundabout. Arranging the bamboo in a parallel vertical line will direct the user to enter the area. Roudabout’s bamboo thing can be functioned to reduce the speed of incoming vehicles by split it’s circulation.

Kp. Ancol Mosque Area : 75 m² Mosque was designed to uphold the locality, whose represented by how the roof was formed. Julang Ngapak model was selected for main roof as is showing the Sundanese speciality and Angklung (local music instrument) form was used to it’s minaret. Building material mosty a combination between an affordable and natural one. Thus building doesn’t lose it’s localism but keep low the development cost. A natural, bold material like bricks, bamboo, gravel, and concrete was shown outside. Otherwise the artificial one like hollow iron, H-beam, etc was used inside as it’s main structure. Air ventilation and sun exposed was optimalized for it’s natural use, minimalizing artificial thing. Mosque’s brickcraft was mostly optimized by it. Using a “breathing wall system” which increase the cavity between it’s brick, air and sun will be easy to go through it.

Bale Warga Area : 30 m² Bale warga is a dialogue space that implemented 3 main element of it’s locality. Material purity, spatial openness, and gathering oriented for locals. Material purity was shown for it’s boldness usage. Wood was mainly used for cover, creating a jalousie and a semi-wall. Brick used to maintaining the reddish color and texture of dried clay. Spatial openness it’s created for maximizing the feels of it’s surrounding area. Site was located in hillside, somewhere at Garut, making it’ll have the right amount of comfort temperature. Maximizing the building mass opening will integrate the surrounding comfort. Low front-roof design will make users bend his head down as it’s shows the respect value when they went inside the room. Every building sides has it’s opening, gives an open impression to users as it becomes the main dialogue space.
