CulturalCorridor

For our first projects, we went out to Chestnut Hill and observed the environment. We then analyzed our corridors by taking note of the feel, sound, smell, the density, and other similar aspects

The idea here is we all go on an architectural tour of Philadelphia! During the tour, we will take note of anything we want to remember or find interesting in our sketch books by taking notes and making quick diagrams/sketches

After the tour, we get back together and create a group diagram of all the things we noted as interesting or want to learn more about. We would also get to see where our observations overlap For example, there is a twohour tour by the Philadelphia Center for Architecture + Design that's hosted on Saturday’s and on https://www phillyphat com/ there are a ton of other options

This would be a group activity. The class could all go on the same tour or people could go alone, with friends, family, or other classmates and then come together as a class and compare experiences

After taking the tour and coming together, you could learn to give the tour! Give a family member or friend an informal tour and show them the things that resonated with you.

The activity is simple Everyone finds one of the pre-designated (not specified in this sheet) locations in the “courtyard” Everyone sits down for about 5–10 minutes and begins to draw After the time is up, you rotate to the next spot in the cycle and pick up the previous drawing where the last person left off For clarity, the people move, the drawings don’t!

This exercise will require creative thinking and a sense of togetherness In the end, the final product would be a collection of drawings, from each location’s perspective, that are made up of many styles and possibly mediums This can be done with any amount of people (>1)! This would take the duration of one class.

Her hair lace halfway down her back and sparkles in the sunlight She has a route routine Every morning, she goes to the local café and gets a cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso.

She's by the book and dedicated to her job She works from a 78M in her office as a CEO of a large company

But she is beautiful When she walks, she walks with a purpose Her style is expensive but professional and always on trend Many think she is a simple workaholic who spends all of her time in the office But in her free time, she loves to paint

Painting allows her world to slow down and and distracts her from the stress of her days
