Como está localizada em uma Zona de Processamento de Exportação (ZPE), a área do hub oferece a todas as empresas um tratamento tributário, cambial e administrativo especial, previsto em Lei.

Até novembro de 2022 o estado do Ceará já tinha assinado 24 Memorandos de Entendimento com empresas de grande porte. Elas pretendem investir na implantação de plantas industriais para produção de hidrogênio verde no complexo do Pecém.

“Assinamos, em julho de 2021, um Memorando de Entendimento com o estado do Ceará para avaliar a oportunidade de desenvolver projetos industriais à base de hidrogênio verde. O objetivo é realizar estudos de desenvolvimento sobre a viabilidade de instalação de uma usina de hidrogênio verde renovável e também permitir a colaboração com universidades locais para desenvolver programas de pesquisa para promover tecnologias relacionadas com hidrogênio, com a visão de treinar e contratar pessoal local”, afirma o gerente de Desenvolvimento de Negócios da Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) no Brasil, Luis Viga. A Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) é australiana, pioneira no desenvolvimento de tecnologia para produzir hidrogênio verde.

Considerando apenas os acordos firmados até o momento, o Hub do Hidrogênio Verde do Ceará deverá receber um investimento privado da ordem de 40 bilhões de dólares na construção de infraestruturas para produção de hidrogênio verde nos próximos anos. Caso todos os investimentos se concretizem, a estimativa é de que a produção de hidrogênio verde no Hub gere uma demanda de até 49 GW de energia renovável.

As it is located in an Export Processing Zone (ZPE), the hub area offers all companies a special tax, exchange and administrative treatment, provided for by law.

By November 2022 the State of Ceará had already signed 24 Memoranda of Understanding with large companies. They intend to invest in the implementation of industrial plants for the production of green hydrogen in the Pecém complex.

Considering only the agreements signed so far, the Green Hydrogen Hub of Ceará should receive a private investment of around 40 billion dollars in the construction of infrastructure for green hydrogen production in the next years. If all investments materialize, it is estimated that the production of green hydrogen in the Hub will generate a demand of up to 49 GW of renewable energy.
