HOTEL PARK REGIS ARION KEMANG This project is my final project as a student. I redesigned a four star hotel located in Kemang. With anthropology simbolic approach, I redesign a hotel with new theme, Betawi.

p. / 8

In redesign interior of Hotel Park Regis Arion Kemang, I raise the Betawi culture as a starting point for thinking about design concept. Betawi is a culture that is interesting to discuss, but also complex. The author interprets the spirit of Betawi culture then applies it to the interior of Hotel Park Regis Arion Kemang. This design aims to review the complexity, enthusiasm, and Betawi cultural values in the design of Hotel Park Regis Arion Kemang.

p. / 9

Interior Portfolio_selected work

--brainstorming

as designer tried to understand the Betawi symbols and interpret them as the spirit that is being presented again in Hotel Park Regis Arion interior. In general, Betawi symbols are approached as cultural symbols in which the I use anthropology symbolic as an entry point. To support the anthropology theory, I also connect with the study of design ethics in the view of Islam, and Betawi analysis based on research in Kampung Betawi Setu Babakan. I also give a touch of the Betawi spirit in accordance with the writer's understanding of Betawi culture into a modern interior design or it can be called “adopting Betawi. The interaction between Betawi cultural identity with modern or new values produces a new face at Hotel Park Regis Arion Kemang interior.

001 Concept

The main concept is dynamic in harmony, which this tag line means that there is a diversity in the Betawi culture (pluralism) that is formed. The people who are always active and dynamic, are reflected in their cultural characteristics, for example in their celebration of always presenting ondel-ondel, rhymes, and music to invite guests to be active. The formation of Betawi from various tribes, races, customs, forms a uniqueness and style in their culture. The diversity that is formed provides harmony and unity in Betawi culture. The word harmony can also be quoted from the elements and functions of Hotel Park Regis Arion Kemang as a place that accommodates business activities (meetings, conferences), gathering, and resting.
