Dr. Duncan Hughes

DOUBLE BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON

Dr. Hughes is a double board-certified surgeon in both general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery. He received his plastics and reconstructive surgery training at Duke University. During his training at Duke, Dr. Hughes was a Regan fellow with Operation Smile, traveling to India to perform cleft lip and palate repairs and to date has 25 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Hughes has been with Synergy a little over a year and has made such a difference with Synergy. Dr. Hughes is extremely attentive to detail and is with you through your whole process. His clients pride him on his ability to create beautiful, subtle, natural-looking results. Dr. Hughes is a recognized expert in face, body and breast procedures, but particularly loves surgery days when he has a breast augmentation on the books. “I love how impactful the surgery is and how happy my clients are afterwards” says Dr. Hughes. April Inskip

PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

April began her career at Synergy as a Spa Coordinator, learning the ins and outs of advanced skincare treatments and procedures and quickly worked her way up to being the Patient Care Coordinator. As Synergy’s Patient Care Coordinator, April will be the main point of contact for plastic surgery patients. She is dedicated to helping every patient have the most harmonious experience possible. We asked April her favorite thing about working at Synergy is and she responded, “how collaborative our team is. All of our providers are genuinely passionate about helping clients and patients feel good about themselves, which creates a very positive, uplifting environment”.

Catherine Samples

RN, BSN, MSN, CANS

Catherine is a North Carolina native, who attended UNC-Chapel Hill for bachelor degrees in psychology and chemistry, then Duke University for her master’s degree in nursing informatics. She has been a registered nurse for over 20 years. She is trained in the Sciton JOULE system to provide hybrid fractional laser treatments. Catherine is dedicated to staying on the forefront of current aesthetic practices to provide her clients with safe and personalized treatment based on their goals and desires. She works with Dr. Hughes in the Operation Room and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses, and is CANS (Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist) certified.

Bridget Newman

POST CARE SKIN RECOVERY

Bridget is a North Carolina native and brings over 15 years of experience as an Aesthetician to Synergy Face + Body. Bridget is an expert in skin assessment and creates customized plans of care for all of her patients to transform their skin. She provides a comprehensive analysis and combines daily home care regimens with in office treatments to give her patients beautiful skin. Bridget works with the plastic surgery team as a post care skin recovery specialist. After Dr. Hughes performs Full-Field Laser Resurfacing treatment, Bridget will be there to guide you through your post skin care recovery to maintain results for a lifetime. Bridget is also certified by the National Council on Laser Certification and by SCITON Inc. to perform Broad Band Light (BBL) therapy, HALO Profractional and Profractional and Morpheus8 for the treatment of acne scars, skin texture and tone.

In her free time, Bridget loves staying active in the community by supporting local retail shops in Raleigh. She loves exploring North Hills and Lafayette Village with her husband and son.
