Eco-friendly & innovative PETFELT

PETFELT - A NEW LIFE FOR BOTTLES The problem with plastic is a global problem. We produce too much and dispose of it too quickly.
5 PET bottles = 1 CELL panel 40 x 40
▪
Every minute, the volume of plastic equal to a single garbage truck enters the ocean. ▪ There is one bottle of plastic for every 5 fish. By 2050, oceans will have more plastic than fish. ▪ In Europe, only 30% of plastic waste is recycled. The rest is burned, or stays as environment pollution. ▪ More than one million plastic bottles are sold every minute worldwide. ▪ It takes over 500 years for a plastic bottle to decompose (or rather crumble into dust) in the natural environment. rPET fabric from recycled PET bottles is one of the ways to minimize plastic waste and reuse the bottles in office and home space:

“Development of innovative, waste-free, mono-material manufacturing technology, for 100% recycled thermoformable non-woven fabric products.
MARBET received a subsidy from the NCR for the R&D work related to the development of a production technology that will significantly affect the environment by increasing the use of fibres coming from recycled PET bottles as the main component of the final product.

CELL collection
MACIEJ KARPIAK The collection of CELL panels was designed by Maciej Karpiak, an experienced Polish artist associated with the Academy of Art in Szczecin, where he in the head at the Bionics and Multidisciplinary Product Design Studio. He has long been interested in innovative solutions to improve human interaction with the ecosystem. Therefore, it is no wonder that in his designs he also uses concepts related to waste upcycling and processing.

ACOUSTICS
ACOUSTICS STANDARDS IN POLAND Research results show that sound levels of 55-60 dB discourage office workers from starting a difficult task. Not only is the sound level important, but also whether it carries communicative content. Both sound levels and speech intelligibility can be regulated and controlled. PN-N-01307: 1994 - acceptable equivalent sound level for the duration of the employee's stay at the office: • 55 dB for administrative, office and creative work room space • 65 dB – for front desks and customer service offices • 75 dB for rooms with noise sources PN-B-02151-02:1987 - sound level limits for rooms: • 35 dB for rooms for intellectually challenging work requiring a strong attention focus • 40 dB for administrative work rooms without internal sources of noise • 45 dB for administrative rooms with internal sources of noise En ISO 9241-6:2002 - refers to ergonomic requirements for workstations with computers (for difficult and complex tasks, equivalent sound level should not exceed 35-55 dB) PN-B-02151-4:2015-06 - specifies requirements for reverberation conditions and speech intelligibility
56
REVERBERATION STANDARD PN-B-02151-04:2015-06 For spaces such as large-area offices, open-space administrative rooms, operating rooms, banks and customer service offices, the standard indicates that sound distribution is limited by increasing the acoustic absorption of the room and application of acoustic screens. Other recommendations include the use of e.g.: ▪ sound-absorbing ceilings and appropriate wall-to-wall carpets ▪ sound-absorbing panels on free surfaces of walls, above desk tops ▪ upholstering of acoustic screens ▪ free-hanging sound-absorbing panels suspended under the acoustic ceiling.
57
SOUND FREQUENCY vs. VOLUME
58
ABSORPTION + INSULATION = ACOUSTIC COMFORT ▪ ACOUSTIC ISOLATION - it is the ability to reduce sound passing through the partition, e.g. through the acoustic wall. ▪ SOUND ABSORPTION - the ability of particular material to partially stop the sound wave
59
