New Policy Launch - 1 November It is the responsibility of both the nursing staff and medical team to ensure that all patients and relatives leave with their InTime in Hand (AND discharge folder AND advice sheet). This is the case in all but three exceptional situations: 1. The parents do not agree to wait for the InTime 2. The duty consultant informs the clinical team this policy is waived 3. The matron or senior sister in charge informs the clinical team this policy is waived (Situations 2 and 3 will only arise in times of exceptional pressure on beds.)
It is EVERYONE’s responsibility to ensure ALL team members know the patient is being discharged & an In Time has been completed!
