Spokes on a wheel explores how the landscape can function as a mediator between the existing dormitories and the berm designed by Tod Williams and Billy Tsien Architects. Considering future expansion of the Haverford college campus, the new dorimitory complex includes a symposium and comtemplative space in fulfullment of the Quaker spiritual support of communal life. Reacting like spokes on a wheel, the tri-fork building extends its fingers to the North, funnelling flows from the residences to the future development along the berm and on grade.

The remains of the site was beautifully contained and its origins as a cornfield has caused one to question the relationship between the man-made and nature. The dichotomy of the two was translated into pressing and lifting of the roofing to a result that the two are no longer dialectical but gradually resolved into the mass, fragmented and unnoticed.
The project exteriorizes the tasting room and preserves the production area underground, in hope that the crystallization of the tasting room could help establish a mark in the fairly competitive winery region. The intimacy of the tasting room is contrasted with the generosity of theexterior roofs cape area, a feature of the project that allows the visitor tofully sink into the environment and tomainly appreciate the horizon.

The shoe box experiment is a project that consists of a series of operation executed in a 24’’ X 12’’x 6’’ box. Operations were experimented in a consistent manner, creating interesting spaces, resulted from the variations. Slanted internal cuts taken at 60 degrees were operted at each level, approximately every 1’’ in the 12’’ side.

CAN ARCHITECTURE CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT IN NYC? Immersive wetlands
generates augmented possibilities along the edges of the Hudson River, and explores formal possibilities to which how the components aggregate to form a larger system of networks. Referencing adaptive performances of barnacles in relation to the depth of the water, Immersive Wetland dematerializes the boundary, encourages fuzzy edges for recreational and social activities and revitalized the forgotten edge.

New urban development trends broaden the definition of gentrification, to which state initiated urban mega blocks, imposes history and erases cultural networks of urban village. Rather than perceiving the neo-liberal bubble as a pure socio-political production, Dipping Edge seeks to question the role of architecture in mediating the drastic damages caused by rapid urbanization.

CULTURAL PROJECT CL3 ARCHITECTS
Renovating existing residences of Times employees, Times Art center struck itself as a rennovation project, connecting four existing underused residences in Gwangzhou, and recreates a street passageway along the inner organs of the building, and rededicates the space as a multi-functional space for exhibition and art gallery displays.

PROFESSIONAL WORK GROUND UP CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
RESIDENTIAL TOWER JASON LONG (Partner)
The project was a two month competition at OMA New York to develop a conceptual design for a new ground up project in San Francisco downtown as part of the urban and office boom. Partnered with Related, Fougeron Architecture, CMG Architecture, the design features a tower on one end of the block with two podium buildings and a row of townhouses filling the remainder of the block. The scheme hopes to reactivate first and bringing urban crowd towards the transit hub to be completed in 2020. Contributed on the facade design and conceptual analysis of the puncture through the street grids and finalized the winning proposal by March 2015. The project is still under development.

ANOTHER GENESIS ‘The First day, God created heaven and earth and light to define day and night. The Second day, God decided to take on the experiment to create a Horizon of a thick wall that divides air and water, hoping that that humans could be adaptable in either worlds. The third day, he continued to create the environments that details the worlds of air and water…’ He murmured the first words of genesis, as he stumbled and strolled around the tower for his duties as an engineer of the Tower. The Tower is the Noah’s Ark that humans invented as an urgent response for survival to the divided world air and water. The tower is where humans hibernate and minimize consumption for the better balance of the both worlds. It is where he lived and made him the controller of the system. His responsibilities as an engineer include staying conscious within night and day and monitoring the daily routines of the tower. ‘Pressure stable, oxygen level weak but constant…’ he looked though his controller panel to ensure that the thin bodies in incubated tubes are alive. And more importantly, ready for transportation to the Horizon within their four-hour daily release. As he strolled towards the next tube, he realized that it was time to make an arrangement and release the tube into the horizon for their daily enjoyment of light and air. Although humans require the coexistence of the two, God have created a dialectic relationship between the two resources just to challenge the human race. The Air was dry, extremely dry to breathe into. And as one moves within the sandstorms, any extra movement in the air would easily cut one’s skin. And any living creature would be incinerated into ashes when sunlight sheds on its surface. And due to the lack of moisture, the earth’s surface is constantly exposed to high radiation from the sun. While the Air was unbearable for any human beings to live in, the Water isn't welcoming either. Sunlight is entirely blocked by the Horizon from penetrating through the water. It is constantly cold and dark.

He slowly unloaded the tube and made sure it stayed intact. He directed the tube towards the central spine of the tower and released it into the air. Slowly it disappeared into his sight as he activated the timer on his controller panel. ‘4 hours active in the horizon, how lucky they are’, he murmured. The horizon was simply a horizontal wall, created to separate the two worlds. And yet, the thick soil of the wall enabled life and cultivated human civilization throughout the years. Slowly over the course of the years, the thick wall has become the history of human civilization, a palimpsest to its harsh lives of survival. Churches, monuments, burials erupted into the soil and are murals where people harvested four hours of labor everyday. Although he was always disciplined to satisfy the requirements as a guard, at times, he wished that he could remain unconscious most of the time in the fluid tubes, living their lives without responsibilities and being oblivious of the factual routines of life. The moment when they land within the heart of the horizon, everything seems pretty surreal and blissful. The four hours enjoying the fruits of everyone’s effort is an epiphany for everyone. No problems to be resolved and the only awake activity that they would even need to contribute themselves is for harvesting within the four hours, which he credit the guards for. He convinced himself an obedient follower and mostly a sacrifice to keep the system in order, to minimize oxygen and moisture intake. For many times when he gazes towards the diminishing shadow of the tubes descending within the central spine, he thought of following them in, as they are not entitled for access to the Horizon. What is the purpose of life when there is no abundance and enjoyment? But the thought of a disobedience to the system gives him chills from the inside, as the whole existence of the culture depends on their collective decision to stay disciplined. Can they be rebellious one in for all when the system lies within their control for a thing line of survival and death? The thought is just a luxury after all. And what are we to do if our worlds are separated into two into separate worlds of Air and Water?
