NOW TRY THIS… THEN GET THESE…

1 CAM CLOSER

Upgrade your webcam by simply hooking your ZV-E10 up to your PC or Mac for plug-and-play ease – the only possible downer being a slight delay between audio and video. For the very best experience, download Sony Imaging Edge Webcam on your computer, toggle PC control on in the settings of the camera, and fi re up both connected devices to be the envy of your virtual offi ce. 2 SHOW OFF THE GOODS

Are you a glam influencer who needs to plug that sponsored content or share the latest Zara haul with your adoring fans? Sony’s Product Showcase feature is back, and you’ll be living for it. Dive into settings and, on the final page of the first set of options, you’ll see Product Showcase Set. Turn it on, and now when you bring a product into frame the AF will home in on it instead of your face. 3 SPEED UP,SLOW DOWN

Many cameras don’t preview slow-mo or timelapse footage when playing back in the device, but this one does. e new S&Q mode is dedicated to slow and quick recording, and can be activated by cycling through modes using the mode button on top of the camera. To change framerates, open up settings; you’ll find S&Q settings on the first page of the second set of options.

4 LOOK ’EM IN THE EYE

Sony’s autofocus is excellent, and that’s in part down to its smart eye-tracking, which works for both humans and animals across photos and video. To use it, on the fourth page of the fi rst set of options in settings, navigate to Face/Eye Priority in AF. Turn it on, choose either Human or Animal, then left or right eye. Note that you’ll need to turn off Product Showcase fi rst. 5 SOFTEN THE SCENE

A new trick on Sony’s high-end cameras is Background Defocus mode. It does what the name suggests – think Portrait mode on a smartphone. e main diff erence between the ZV-E10 and an iPhone 12 is that Sony’s cam doesn’t use software to create fake bokeh but adjusts its shooting settings, dropping the aperture to keep subjects crisp while backgrounds go soft and dreamy. 6 TAKE SOME PICTURES

You might be surprised to know the Sony ZV-E10 is just about a best-in-class camera for pure photography. Yes, it’s a vlogger’s dream with great 4K video and a nifty three-capsule microphone for decent sound recording, but the camera’s photo specs match the much pricier Sony A6400, from its 24.2MP sensor and 440-shot battery to its almost unrivalled autofocus skills.
