Regular readers will recall our columnist Matthew Fort extolling the virtues of the trinity of late autumn and winter fruits – the apple, pear and quince – in our September issue. Golden quince is plump and ready for harvesting from October through to December and makes a welcome addition to crumbles and pies layered in slices with its apple and pear cousins.
