inspiration of the ceiling feature and treatment
inspiration of advanced fabric application as design element.
second floor
Therefore, the scope of the project will include: merging two adjacent unit together, designing and renovating the lower level with accessibility and versatility concern including barrier free design, and adapting the concept into the contrasting demographic.
concept description Taking the demographic difference as the part of design problem, the solution of Lau’s apartment design is executed with adaptation of industrial style. It is as an icon to symbolise modernisations, while at the same time it is a tool to remember the past, to create balance between the new and the old. Inspired by everyday oblique object, the design language follows the diagonal line and shape, irregularity, and contrast between sizes of the design elements.

LUXE Properties Group is an established Singaporean firm with years of experience in managing boutique hotel businesses in Singapore and abroad. They are currently on a campaign to open a new concept boutique hotel in the heritage part of Singapore, and are expecting a new market to their business.
about L hotel L Hotel is a new three-star boutique hotel by LUXE Properties. It will be housed in a heritage shophouse with a unique cultural background located in Selegie road, Singapore. It is a new concept hotel targeting mainly young couple tourists, with short period of stay. L hotel offers two types of room: common and superior, which differs in material quality and sizes. The new hotel also offers varieties of services such as Rooftop F&B, which operates as breakfast in the morning and as a public full-time bar and restaurant in the evening; along with special services such as in-room dining.
concept description The proposed design concept for L hotel is to incorporate contemporary style with subtle integration of art-deco element to preserve the building historical value. While targeting for couples, the design elements of the space are implemented to boost the romantic value of the hotel. By using achromatic contrast color scheme, the design express bold statement in harmony to the form, and shapes; soft materials are integrated with curvilinear objects, creating movement and counter the art-deco geometric elements to draw desirable attention from the public.
