Ciao! Sono Mathieu, vivo in Francia, in Provenza per l’esattezza (la Provenza è una regione della Francia – come dice mio Papà) e più precisamente abito in una piccola casa bianca. Fabienne, la mia amica, chiama la casa dove abito la casupola di gesso, anche se la nostra casa non è di gesso. Vorrei che la mia casa fosse di panpepato, come quello dalla favola, così potrei mangiare sempre qualcosa dolce. Mi piacciono i dolci e mi piace la mia amica Fabienne anche se a volte ha paura di tutto, ha persino paura delle piccole api. Devo ammettere però che Fabienne è molto intelligente, ha i voti più alti a scuola e mi aiuta sempre a fare i compiti a casa (porta sempre i biscotti che prepara sua Mamma, gnam!) Lei sa tutti i miei segreti, anche quello di quando ho mangiato la torta di compleanno di mia Nonna, mentre mia Mamma pensò che l’avesse mangiata il gatto… Devo andarmene perché Fabienne mi sta aspettando. Devo vantarmi del nuovo aquilone con lei. Ciao!
Mi chiamo Fabienne, abito in Provenza in una piccola casa tra campi di lavanda. La lavanda mi piace perché quando arriva l’estate tutto il mondo diventa profumato, pieno di farfalle colorate e di fiori viola che raccolgo per il mio libro dei fiori. Il mio amico Mathieu che abita vicino casa mia con sua Mamma e suo Papà, mi aiuta a fare questa raccolta. Mathieu è fantastico! Ride sempre e non ha paura di niente, infatti quando giochiamo sul prato, allontana le api perché io ne ho paura. Mathieu mi racconta tante storie tutte diverse e che sembrano vere e questo mi piace molto, anche se delle volte mi fanno un po’ paura, come la storia sui fantasmi del mulino. Ai miei genitori piace Mathieu: mi fa ridere quando Papà lo saluta stringendogli la mano come a un adulto e sono felice quando mia Mamma gli offre buonissimi biscotti e una marmellata di lamponi che è migliore del mondo. Adesso vado perché Mathieu mi sta chiamando per andare a provare il suo nuovo aquilone.
Hi! I am Mathieu. I live in Provence, France. I live in a small white house. My friend, Fabienne, calls it the Chalk Cottage, although it is not made of chalk. I wish my house was made of gingerbread, like from a fairy tale, and then I could eat it, and always eat sweets. I like sweets. I also like Fabienne, although she is afraid of everything – even the smallest bee! She is very intelligent and has the best grades at school. She often helps me with my difficult homework (and she always brings delicious sweets made by her Mum!) She knows all my secrets, even the one from last year when I ate part of my grandmother’s birthday cake: mum thought the cat did it! I have to go! Fabienne is waiting for me, and I want to tell her all about my new kite, bye!
My name is Fabienne. I live in Provence in France in a small house in the lavender fields. I like lavender because when the summer comes, the world becomes purple, and it smells so nice! It’s great because there are lots of colourful butterflies and I can collect lots of flowers for my garden. Mathieu sometimes helps me. He is my best friend and lives next door with his Mum and Dad. Mathieu is great. He laughs all the time and is not afraid of anything. He even chases away the bees when we play in the meadow! I like it when Mathieu tells me lots of stories, although sometimes they can be frightening – especially the one about the ghost of the old mill. My Mum and Dad like Mathieu as well. He makes me laugh as him and my Dad always shake hands like they are adults. My mum helps him to make delicious cookies and the best raspberry jam in the whole world! I have to finish now as Mathieu is standing at the window calling me – we are going to try out his new kite!
