A GLOBAL PITCH COMPETITION In the global startup challenge we look for the most promising startups in 3 different weight-classes. Based on their pitch we score startups on their team, achievements, business model & market and their financials. Through local, national and regional rounds startups can proceed to an international final where the global winners will be announced.

En este desafío global de startups buscamos a las 3 startups más prometedoras y de mayor potencial en 3 diferentes pesos/categorías. Basados en sus presentaciones cortas calificamos sus equipos, logros, modelo y mercado de negocio y sus finanzas. A través de instancias locales, nacionales y regionales, las startups pueden alcanzar la final internacional donde los ganadores globales serán definidos y anunciados.

As a startup you can apply for the global startup challenge by choosing the national final of Costa Rica in the webpage www.getinthering.co/apply, and then clicking the button “apply as a startup”. If you are a high potential startup that can make an impact in your industry, your startup is no older than 8 years, you can pitch fluently in English and you have an innovative and scalable business idea/model, then you’re good to go! Como startup puedes aplicar para la competencia global Get in the Ring eligiendo la final nacional de Costa Rica en la página web www.getinthering.co/apply, y haciendo click en el botón “apply as a startup”. Si eres una startup con gran potencial para hacer un impacto en su industria, no tienes más de 8 años de facturar, puedes presentar tu pitch fluidamente en inglés y tienes una idea o modelo de negocio innovador y escalable, ¡entonces estás listo para aplicar!
ROAD TO THE FINAL
Each final has a preliminary round and live battles. First you get the chance to convince experienced fans you’re worthy, get feedback & learn from them. If you win, you will get stage time and pitch in front of the champion judges & audience. Winners will also get the chance to have a coaching dinner the day previous to the final, on-stage batles.

Cada final tiene una ronda preeliminar y batallas en vivo. Primero tendrás la oportunidad de convencer a fans experimentados de que tu startup vale la pena, conseguir retroalimentación y aprender de ellos. Si ganas, tendrás tu tiempo en escena y podrás hacer tu pitch frente a los jueces y audiencia campeona. Los ganadores también asistirán a una cena de coaching un día antes de la final y de las batallas en vivo.
PITCH NEAT & PERFECT
No PowerPoint needed. It’s a 1-on-1 pitch battle between two startups. There are 5 rounds, ending in a Q&A and a vote for the winner by our Champion Judges and the audience. First you get a quick intro, and then the 30 second rounds with the following topics:

No se necesita presentación audiovisual. Es una batalla 1 vrs. 1 entre dos startups. La batalla consta de 5 rounds, luego se abre un espacio para preguntas y respuestas y finalmente se cierra con la votación a cargo de los Campeones Jueces y la audiencia. Al inicio contás con un espacio para una introducción breve y luego se da paso a los rounds de 30 segundos para los siguientes temas: R1: Equipo - R2: Logros - R3: Modelo de negocio y mercado - R4: Finanzas y propuesta - R5: Libre
WIN AND CAPTURE THE WORLD
Win on stage and you’re placed for the next instance. Each instance works the same. Win in Costa Rica to get to the regional final, win your region to get to the international final. Win the international final and you claim fame, the championship belt in your weight class and the grand prize! Traveling between finals is involved. The time investment varies between one day for a local final to four days for the international final.
Gana en el escenario y estarás clasificado para la siguiente instancia. Cada una de ellas funciona igual. Gana en Costa Rica para clasificar a la final regional, gana en la región para alcanzar la final internacional. Gana la final internacional y reclama fama, el cinturón de campeón para tu categoría de peso y el gran premio! Viajar entre las diferentes finales es requerido. El inversión de tiempo varía entre 1 día para las finales locales y nacionales y 4 días para la final internacional.
