what does architecture mean to me? It´s the combination between artistic and cultural trends and a constructive method joined in a sensitive combination. I think that, in the realities of the contempory world where we live, the world is going through an imminent change, as architect we have an obligation to find ways successfully incorporate new building material, trends, construction methods with resources used in the past. We have to believe pleasing architecture is possible and we must create the new structures and buildings that are practical, aesthetically, pleasing and environment responsible that will inspire the future because of that I believe in BIM, it is begining to chage the way buiding look, the way they function, and the ways in wich they are built.

personal summary about me

Origins. Architect by University of Seville, I went to Australia to learn english and to discover other ways of working and facing problems. My last two years living in Australia has been an experience of great personal and professional improvement. During this time I have, not only learned a language but also a new way to work in many aspects, the value of hard work during 3 months in the hospitality area and a wonderful experience working in two differents companies with very important architectural projects. BIM Manager. Encouraged to keep growing, I completed a master degree at BIM Management Steering by UPC (Barcelona) focusing my aptitud in new technologies and team working, both drivers of the actuar AEC trend. Member of fraternity. Active member in the famous residence hall (Colegio Mayor Hernando Colón). I participated leading teams of people with differents backgrouds and careers. We developed multidisciplinary activities as educational seminars (from 2008 to 2012 organizer and assitant of “Season of Architecture”, seasons given by first level architects (Souto Moura, Alberto Campo Baeza, etc)), cuturals, sports or social. International perspective. After two years I have, not only learned a language but also a new way to work in many aspects, a wonderful experience working in two differents companies with very important architectural projects, some of them in colaboration with Wanda group (Chinese business group), with colaboration and team working as business value.

Ambitions

At this new stage I want to give a step forward in my career with a new rol and to have new responsabilities with BIM as a core. I wish to be Project Manager in a medium term, therefore I want to go futher with architectural design and teamworking coordination, to be able to join effort between client, specialists, consultants, etc. I would like to keep traveling, then I imagine myself ruling international projects in a long term, so I could do what I like, architecture, travel and teamworking.

professional activity My professional experience began in Australia, where I went to learn English.

During one year I was involved in various projects in DBI in Gold Coast. The project I worked the most on (10 months) was Jewel. The coordination of the team work was internal (DBI departments) and external (clients, consultants, specialists, etc.), it must to run like clockwork, non-stop feedback. My role in this experience was multitasking, technical support as an architect, interior design, and especially draftsman in CAD and BIM system. After, during 6 month I worked in Ewert&Leaf in Melbourne. This time I worked with a smaller firm with smaller projects that let me getting involved more indepth in some projects. I was involved in various residential, multi-residential jobs and hospitality projects. The stages I undertook were predominately Town Planning and Construction Documentation.

After my year in Australia, I went to Barcelona to focus at BIM. So, at the same time I coursed a Master BIM Management and I worked for two firms.

For two months I realized a rol as consultant architect and BIM modeling in the firm IMC. Developing and modeling of a small-scale CAP (Primary Care Center).

I started working in luxury retail. A lot of documentation are developed with great complexity and level of detail, both in design and construction projects.

My participation has been focused on the development of the executive project (building documentation), carried out in BIM. The project consists in the remodeling and rehabilitation of the old Banco Popular building, in Paseo de Gracia. It proposes a redistribution of the office floors getting a new vertical communication space which includes a vertical garden. To realize this operation, the existing patio will be used, increasing its dimensions and relocating the main staircase inside.

A large number of drawings are developed so they can be interpreted correctly by building suppliers throughout the world. This kind of brand have a teamwork system between different firms so they put a lot of effort to coordinate themselves with great precision. I was involved in several projects in differents countries. My role was that of a draftsman for construction documentation.

Client Voltes From 2019 the Spanish administration will start to demand the BIM as an indispensable requirement. Catalonia decides to come earlier, so It´s fair to say that many construction companies were caught off guard. They were forced to hire external staffs to model in BIM and thus comply the city council requirements. In this case, it´s a smallscale CAP (Primary Care Center). In the modeling process, we perceived numerous design failures that would occur during the construction, so they were reported properly in order to avoid them.

The connection and extension of the Architectural narrative by the Interior Design provides a strong cohesive language for the project as a whole. The outcome, an Interior Design that reflects the strong bold, fearless language of the Architecture providing schemes that are sculptural, original, bold and luxurious.

Length 10 month Client Dalian Wanda Group & Ridong Group The Architectural narrative for the building form is rich and compelling. The building design reflects a desire to develop Architecture with a strong conceptual basis, Architecture with meaning and connection to place. The building employs a geological analogy which in concept informs all of the decision making process. The Towers are imagined as reflecting the Geometric forms and principles of the crystalline volcanic structures that form the underling geology of the Gold Coast.

Studio DBI Design, Gold Coast, Australia Coordinator Mr. Raith Anderson Submission [in process] 2015 Length 2 month Client Duqm Special Economy Authority Duqm Beach Resort is an iconic development aimed at providing a landmark tourist precinct and housing community. Al Duqm Beach Resort is located directly between Al Duqm’s City Centre and Coast Districts. The site acts as a bridge, linking the central business district and Al Duqm’s coastal spine. As a result Al Duqm beach Resort has been designed as hybrid of both districts, combining a commericial precinct, residential community and landmark tourist precinct. At a wider scale, the resort is located approximately half way between Al Duqm’s Port & Drydock and the airport. This location makes it an ideal residence for business professionals working at the Port and surrounding industries.

Studio Ewert&Leaf, Melbourne, Australia Coordinator Mr. Will Leaf and Mr. Toby Ewert Submission May of 2016 Length 3 weeks Client Hawthorn This project could be considered like the normal architectural style of this firm. First, an old house is demolished to allow to the neighbourhood grow following the City Council Masterplan. After a medium standing building is designed focusing in low sale prices and with a great design. Basement, ground level and three storys complete a construction with thirty dwellings. A gargen to get some privacy go around the property through the boundary. The facade is compounded by briks, concrete, timber, louvres and standings seam (last floor), they create very interesting geometric figures through very simple elements.

educational projects

My main studies are: an Architect Degree at the University of Seville (US) and a Master’s Degree in BIM Management I realized in the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).

The Master in BIM Management proves my interest on new technologies and collaborative work. I consider BIM an essential methodology in large scale architecture. Two works carried out during this 18 months Master are attached.

From my period in the architecture degree I have selected 2 jobs: The End Course Project. I applyed on here all differents concepts that I learnt along my studies, from the urban design to the smallest details. A public library we attempter during an internship at the Project Office of the Vice-Rectorate Infrastructure at the University of Seville.

Studio Service Infrastructure at the University of Seville, Spain Project’s author Dr. Miguel González Vílchez Cooperation Dr. Andrés Agudo Martínez Submission July 2013 Length 4 month Team with Andrés Agudo Martínez y Carlos Bravo Gómez This proyect was initially designed by Zaha Hadid inside Prado’s Park in Seville. Due to problems between the city council and the neighbourhood associations, the University of Seville taked responsibility of the project in its own land. Work on the first site was abandoned. We were responsible for redesigning the library, a featuring curtain wall in the building and a recreation area that allowed access between the important street in Seville and the most famous park in Seville María Luisa’s Park.
