Even though the Topshop skirt is from the summer collection, the colour of it goes perfectly with the upcoming season. The clutch bag is a simple and cheap one from New Look and is under £13. The shoes however don’t belong on the high street and are from designer Kurt Geiger. The beauty of them more than make up for the price of them. The jewellery is used only to dress up the outfit and the necklace and earrings can be found at Accessorize for less than £5 each.

For a young comedian Daniel Sloss has more experience than most. After appearing in many popular panel shows such as 8 out of 10 Cats, anticipation amongst the crowd was high. He was full of effortless energy especially seeing as Aberdeen was the penultimate show of his year long tour. His controversial humour causes knots in the stomach when trying not to laugh at his thoughts on religion and political parties. Despite his dynamic jokes, at 23 he is sure footed about his morals which shine through in his act. It has been said that he’s following in the footsteps of fellow Scottish comedian, Frankie Boyle however it is a bittersweet comment. Sloss may say it how it is, yet he is unique and brings something fresh to the comedy circuit.

CHRISTMAS WAVES What you need • • • • • •
V05 volumising spray V05 heat protect spray V05 texturising powder V05 taming spray Curling iron Hairbrush
After towel drying your hair, lightly spritz it with heat protector and volumising spray. While blow drying your hair, make sure you brush it curving in towards your face. Your hair must be bone dry before any heat touches it.
Section your hair into two inch sections and begin curling from the bottom upwards not going any further than the ear.

Once you have completed wait until your hair has completely cooled down. The next step is to slowly brush your hair holding onto the panel to keep it smooth until the curls loosen. Tap some powder into the roots to prevent your hair from falling flat throughout the evening.
Use the serum to smooth down any flyaway hairs and the taming spray to hold it all together. With your hair style taking less than 20 minutes to do, it is perfect for a christmas night out when you’re in a hurry to get ready. Season Three left us with the shocking and unforgettable Red Wedding where the show dramatically killed off a portion of the most loved characters. Robb Stark’s rebellion against the throne is now in limbo leaving Winterfell in even more danger. With the remaining Starks in Winterfell fleeing their home, the overlordship of the Greyjoys has become even stronger. As Bran escapes to Castle Black with his brother, Rickon, he meets a young boy who tells him that he is a warg like himself. Bran has the ability to control the minds of animals and he puts his gift to good use when he enters the mind of his
direwolves to save his older half brother Jon Snow from the Wildlings. At this point Jon reveals he was always loyal to the Night’s Watch and abandons his lover, Ygritte and escapes. After being separated from her family since her father’s execution, Arya finally catches up with them at the Red Wedding but her kidnapper, The Hound protects her from witnessing the massacre and saves her from the Frey guards. By the end of this season, the sadistic boy king Jeoffry’s reign is growing stronger and stronger. However he is controlled by his mother who has ordered the marriage of her dwarf brother
and teenager Sansa Stark. Across the water in another continent, Daenerys Targarian has begun her war of power to seize the throne she believes belongs to her. There has been a number of confirmed new cast members helping us guess what could be coming up next. British actor Joel Fry of 10,000 BC and Tamara Drew fame, has been cast as Hizdahr zo Loraq, a nobleman from the city of Meereen. He petitions against Daenerys after she invades his home. Pedro Pascal (Homeland, The Adjustment Bureau) is set to play Oberyn

Martell who is a prince from House Martell. His family fought against the rebellion that brought The Mad King or Daenerys Targarian’s father down. The role of the warrior Gregor Clegane has been re-cast and now belongs to Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Iceland’s strongest man and standing at 6’9” tall. Amongst all the new castings, the most odd goes to Icelandic band Sigus Rós. Their role is not yet known but they have been spotted in the Croatian set where Daenerys’ battles are filmed. The demise of season three left all viewers with a number of questions. Will Jon Snow return to The Wall to protect the realm against the supernatural or will he go on a personal mission and seek out revenge after the Red Wedding? Will Jon become the new Lord of Winterfell? As Bran is on search for the three-eyed raven that haunts his dreams, the only plausible theory surrounding his warg abilities is that they will only benefit his search. What will become of Arya after knowing some of her family is dead? It makes sense that she would follow in the footsteps of “real killer” The Hound. King Jeoffry is set to marry in this season. He will meet the rest of the Tyrell family which may pose a threat as their house is very powerful and can give the Lannisters a run for their money. With Daenerys freeing all of the slave cities, she is quickly gaining more admirers and therefore soldiers giving her an enormous army. This will be giving everyone at King’s Landing something to worry about. Due to all of this, season four looks like it will be giving us another exciting couple of months of bloodshed. Season four is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2014.

CHRISTMAS INSPIRED NAILS What you need • Red nail varnish • • • •
Green nail varnish Nail file Nail varnish remover Cotton buds
Begin with completely clean and polish free nails. Start with your first green coat and wait until it’s dry before applying the second. Once that coat is dry, carefully drag the brush of the red varnish along the top of the nail. If you are not confident that you can stay in a smooth line,you can use a kerbie grip instead. Use the bulbous tip and dip it into the bottle. If you don’t want to ruin a grip it doesn’t matter if you spill over ontoyour skin. You can use a removersoaked cotton bud to tidy up any mistakes.
Tips for looking after nails Vitamin A is the top supplement for strong and healthy hair and nails. Vitamin A rich foods include carrots, dark green vegetables and dried apricots. Stop using nail varnish remover with acetone in it. This chemical can damage your nails! Cutting your nails with a smooth rounded edge makes them look longer and looks especially elegant on people with shorter fingers. When doing your nails make sure you don’t push your cuticles too far back. The cuticles are for protecting your skin against infection. Don’t bite them!

Ingredients 530g of self raising flour 1 tsp of salt 220g of butter 225g of sugar (preferably caster but will work with any) 4 large eggs 8 mashed blackened bananas 130ml of milk 1 tsp of vinegar 1 tsp of vanilla extract Banana bread is a quick and easy recipe that is great to whip up if you have some unexpected guests arriving. This recipe makes two large loaves and only takes an hour and a half from peel to plate. Set your oven to 180 degrees or 160 degrees if it is a fan oven. Sieve the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl and put to one side.
BANANA BREAD
Take another bowl and stir the butter and sugar together until at forms a smooth paste. Once completed, add the vanilla extract, vinegar, milk, eggs and mashed bananas into the mixture. Stir the mixture until all the flour folds in and is smooth and runny. Grease two loaf tins with any remaining butter and pour the mixture inside. Put the tins in the oven for an hour or so. Banana bread can be temperamental. Sometimes it can just take 30 minutes to bake and other times and hour and 30 minutes. The best thing to do is check it’s progress every 20 minutes. Once baked right through and turned a golden brown colour. Leave it for 15 minutes to cool and enjoy.
