It’s no secret that planning a wedding can at times be equally as stressful as it
is exciting. Add the unpredictability of a worldwide pandemic on top of things, and it seems like everyone in the wedding industry has had to become experts in pivoting.
As we enter the 2022 wedding season and we seem to be finding a new sense of normal, we can feel the excitement building again for couples whom have put off having their dream wedding, perhaps multiple times.
Entering the new year and this new wedding season, we put together list of Dos and Don’ts when it comes to your wedding florals, as well as the latest trends you can expect to see in 2022.
• DO come to your consultation prepared with an idea of your wedding party numbers, ceremony and reception decorations, and photo inspiration (Pinterest Boards are a great place to start) of your dream florals. • DON’T worry if you don’t know exactly what type of flowers you want. Your florist will be able to suggest seasonal blooms that will work well with your overall colour pallet and style of wedding, whether that be rustic, boho, classic, etc.
• DO remember your guests when deciding on centrepieces/table arrangements.
Ensure that your guests can properly converse throughout the evening and that their view of the wedding party is not obstructed by florals. It is also important to make sure that there is enough space on the tables for plates, glassware, cutlery, etc. Let your florist know the size of your tables and discuss measurements with them.

2022 Trends
Here are a few of our favourite floral designs that are trending for 2022.
Sunset Colours: Sunset colours are no longer just for Autumn weddings. Many couples are wanting to bring a splash of colour into their wedding without going too bright. This is where we are starting to see sunset colours burst into every season, as they boast deep, rich colours to compliment every style of wedding.
Dried Bouquets: We are starting to see an increase in dried florals being used in bridal bouquets; moreover, entire bouquets constructed of dried florals. Dried bouquets are great for travelling with and are popular for couples wanting to elope but haven’t decided on a date.
Monochrome: Monochromatic themes are starting to have a big impact on wedding florals, where the interest comes from different textures, sizes, and types of flowers and foliage in the same tones. Traditionally this has been done for years with the classic white bridal bouquet, but in 2022 we are

seeing this trend more and more, particularly with beige tones.
Ground Ceremony Arrangements: Although we can’t see the arch ever being unpopular, couples have started to think of different ways to add framing during the ceremony. One of the most popular options are ground arrangements, usually in the form of two pillar arrangements on either side of the couple or a semi-circle at the front of the ceremony location for the couple and wedding party to stand in.
At the end of the day, despite what’s trending, it is important to remain true to yourselves and decide on florals to compliment you and your special day!
